Let's see if I can answer these....
1. I think you may need to set up your Nickname. Go to Home -> Account Setup and reset your nickname.
2. The flowers were part of an event awhile ago, where users could give them to each other. (I forget which holiday it was? Maybe last Valentines?) There's not a way at the moment to hand out flowers, since the event only lasted a week or so. *shrugs* Fair chance I'd say that they'll bring them back again at some point.
3. I don't think there is a good way currently to look up users, honestly. There used to be a player search, but it was on the same page as the waja search, which is down at the moment because it makes the server crash & needs to be redone. That having been said, you can get most of the waja's teams IDs off the Staff page, found under Help -> Staff
Ryoko is the current main programer for the site, and you can find posts from him in the News section. His ID is 3011
4. Leaves are one of the extras they set up for people who pay to upgrade their accounts. Once you have an upgraded account, you go to World -> Pear Tree, and click a button to "pick a leaf from the pear tree" -- you can pick two leaves a day (the system gives you random leaves). Leaves come in various colors and different colors are worth different amounts of points. You can see what leaves you have either in your Inventory or your Leaf Bag, both under the Home tab. And you can trade your leaves for items at World -> Leaf Exchange.
Leaves can also be sold by players in their player shops, so even if you don't have an upgraded account you can still get them by buying them from other players. The player shops search can be found under World -> Shop Search

Man, this game is pretty addictive. I'm just not rich enough to do anything exciting yet LOL
I do have one more question though, I've noticed in a lot of Waja descriptions people saying "if my waja wanders off please return to..." Do wajas really leave your cave and appear in someone else's? I almost had a bunny steal my money, so I assume that bad things like that can randomly happen, along with the good random events.
Ah, and might as well ask this too, how do the adoptables work? I'm looking to make some extra money that way, and not familiar with adoptions of the PI or Waja sort what is the usual procedure? Do people post them somehow with their Wajas in their cave, or are they supposed to stick them on a normal site like Geocities? Or maybe the real question is (since after they've paid, I guess I don't care what they do with the image) is am I supposed to transfer them the image through the system, or just have them download the image like we do here?
Hope I'm not pestering you guys with all my newbie questions. ^_^

I don't appear to have any invites, maybe I'm too new. However just to warn you, they are taking the system down on Feb 18th-20th so I would wait to join after that.

SunBlind - One of the functions on Wajas lets you transfer a waja to another player, but for awhile it was a bit buggy and occationally when you transfered a waja it would end up on some random person's account instead of the one you meant to send it to. I'm pretty sure that bug's been fixed, but it made people a bit paranoid that it could happen again, or via other bugs, so people started putting those notices in their waja's presentations. I guess it could happen too if you accidentally checked to sell the waja when you were really just trying to put it up for breed, so that could be another reason for people to put the notices there. It is not in any way built into the system to have your wajas go wandering on purpose, and if by chance you ever do have one randomly disappear you should definately file a bug report on it.
(And the bunny never actually steals all your money. She just occationally "almost manages to.")
For adoptions -- it used to be that cave descriptions allowed HTML, and people would display their adopted critters in their caves using that. Currently HTML is not allowed, although I'd make a guess that eventually it will be reinstated. I haven't really looked into what adoptions are doing at the moment, but I'd guess most people adopting are putting them on outside webpages (probably with Freewebs, that seems to be the trend at the moment.) Most adoptions host the images for the adopters and allow them to hotlink, most often using a Photobucket account, although occationally you get an adoption that requires people to host their own images.

With Waja's the adoptables work kindof like a normal adoption site. You can create a waja based adoptable though it can only be adopted on waja's. Mainly from what I see people just post in the forum thread called adoptable sell or something like that.
If you have a different crit that isn't waja based you can adopt them out just like a normal adoption, just people will pay in WC.
Though I have seen people post the information of their adoptables in their cave, though most seem to stick with the forum. And most don't seem to page, but I am thinking the waja community wouldn't be that bad for it. As long as you state that you want them paged and such.
So yeah just think of the waja adopable forum just like it is here ^^
Theres my 2 cents worth XD;

Thanks both of you!
Being a programmer myself I know all about the really weird bugs that could be lurking in even the best code so I can imagine that odd things can occur from time to time. *G*
Now hopefully it will be back up and running soon so I can see the pup someone bred for me. It was born the night before the system went down and I didn't get a chance to coo at it yet LOL

You're a programmer, SunBlind? What all abilities do you have in that area of expertise?

Waja's is going under a maintenance thing. They are tring to make it so the site runs faster with all the members it has. If I remember they are changing servers or something. So hopefully they will be up soonish.
