It just occurred to me that I've been in the cyperpet adoption scene for over 10 years now. Wow.
How about everyone else?

I'm also around the 10 year mark. My site hit that last year in May and I start adopting shortly after that. Back when Silv was doing the searches for the silver unicorns ^_^ Alidus was my first non-click, or at least he wasn't a click when I found the link to the eggs in Silv's guest book

It must be around seven years for me as well...and I still kind of miss the Nameless Forest adoptions. *nostalgic grin*

I started in 1997, so going on 11 years for me. (Heh, I only remember because that's also the year I started college. *issoold*)

I started around March-ish of '97, so close to 11 for me, too. I remember being part time, and I became full time in November of that year.

Uhm... not sure. Back when the Isle was big. XD
Cynther, apprentice to Jaylor of Kalenik Sands...
Sometime in September. I think perhaps '96, but it might have been '97. (Leeessaaaa... you 'member stuffs better than I do. When'd we get sucked into the Isle?)
Possibly even as early as 95? The internet was just starting when I first began using it, still almost entirely text-based... after about a half-year I got sick of the chatrooms and got into HTML-ing... and then discovered cyberpets. Been doing that ever since. X3

I was 13 when we first got the internet and you introduced me to most of the isle stuff so 12+ years.

lol, i'm guessing that if we're any sort of marking, the cyberpet adoption trend probably really rose to popularity 10, 11 years ago.

I guess it kind of started with click-and-takes (a page full of the same outline just in different colours), then moved on to more limited edition clicks, like Silv's Silver Unicorns. Something you really had to work for. Then her drigetti came out, was anyone else doing genetic based critters at that time? So that started the whole individually drawn growing adoptables. Then the growing part dropped out, as both artists and adopters didn't have time to deal with the stages. And now with markets and PI and other forums, we're back to using the same outline, but with different colours. Almost a full circle, except that the market based clicks are not "takes". ^__^

I dunno, I still do individual outlines for my adoptions, except for randoms and some dragons I give out at the Nexus. In fact, because of that and certs and such, I'm ansy about starting a PI branch of the EverRealm on PI..

Silv's drigetti probably had the most complicated genetics at the time they came out, but i think a couple now defunct dragon sites were doing some very simple genetic stuff. i can't think of any that did genetics and unique outlines, though.
