"Want one?" He asked with a raised eyebrow, then laughed and climbed carefully onto mozers back with slow and careful movements, making sure not to scratch him or such... And of course make him and terein feel as uncomfertable as possible... Mentally of course.
"She just went to bed, so expect her in an hour or two. I wouldn't want to wake her." He answered with a small smile then nudged mozer with his knees "Giddyup!" he said then giggled. and made a few more obligatory cowboy/horsriding remarks.

"I would hate to be forced to dump you from my back," Mozer replied with an easy aplomb despite the fact that he was becoming incomfortable again. This was just asking for something untoward to occur. "We have an agreement, Geil," he continued quietly. "And that alone will guarantee a fair match." Or even if they both survived for them to try for a fair match.
Terein's ears went back and he gave a quick nod, not in the least jealous of Mozer. At all. "I wish you well," it wasn't really apparent who he was referring to with the comment.
Mozer rose and with one last warning to Geil, "You may want to hold on", he leapt into the air, moving with a gentle, serpentine movement; much lighter than his usual swift, jerking flight. After all, he wouldn't want to kill Geil unless he actually meant to.

Well. there was one thing to say about Geil accepting the ride from Mozer, it meant that he trusted mozer enough to be pretty much completely at his mercy once they reached the air as Geil had the flying capability of a sack of potatoes. "If I try and start early just dump me off." He said with a loving sigh, then wrapped his arms and legs around Mozer to hold on.... Then he gave a nod to Terein and grinned "Thanks." It probably wasn't meant to him but that didn't matter.
It wasn't at all what he had expected a gryvern to move like, he'd expected something more like clouds appearing under their claws to speed them along... Or maybe some sort of ghost wings to appear, definitely not wriggling through the air like the snake... It was somewhat disoreintating... Although he definitely liked it.

Mozer was blissfully unaware of Geil's thoughts on the way he flew, he simply did as he must in order to stay airborne. "I'm certain I'm pleased to have your permission," the gryvern stated quietly, voice rumbling through his body to Geil's, the vibrations helping to share the words more than the level of his speech. "Since I would have without it."
Terein watched them go with a slow shake of his head. Wot a frightening mess this was becoming.

Geil took this opportunity to closely examine Mozers short fur, rubbing his head against it lightly to test the springy-ness and all that.. Not that he really had that much of a choice since the instant they reached a not too safe height for Geil, he pretty much plastered himself against Mozer... He had never really had to deal with a fear of heights before, so often he was on the ground or on much more uh... Sturdy creatures.
"So you're Mozer right? Hmm... well, this saves me a trip to her home atleast... I was going to inquire about that 'Outbreeding' program... Natalya didn't mention much about it, and I didn't feel like embarrassing her too much... She's such a modest person." He seemed particularly interested in that breeding program, but other than that just seemed to be making casual conversation as they flew.

Geil's mention of the Outbreeding program surprised Mozer enough that for a moment their magically-enhanced flight paused and they began to sink in the air. Mozer caught them after only a few feet, no more than eight, bringing them back up to a better flying level. The tsume's casual mention of Natalya brought a brief moment of tenseness itself before Mozer pushed it away to respond.
"Normally Gryverns mate for life," he answered carefully. "Perhaps because of this, perhaps because of other things, our genetics are not as strong as some we have seen here. We hope to improve our blood with the addition of other kinds and then breeding those back in." The gryvern was quiet for a moment. "Wot is your interest in this program?" He was really rather afraid to ask, but he couldn't help it.

Geil made a small Squeak when they began to sink and clung very tight for a few moments, waiting untill it had been made obvious that they were not going to continue plummetting at this moment atleast. then he began to relax again... Phew, this was freaky. "Most tsumes mate for life too, unless circumstances choose otherwise. And yes, most whatever you may think of my lifestyle it is not the 'norm'." He said with a small amount of distaste in his voice before moving on to answering the question.
His first answer was a small moment of silence, and then if that had not been enough he deigned to actually speak it incase Mozers sense of logic was not as good as he suspected. "Well, I have no interest in mating for life..." He slid his head over a little bit so he could better see mozers reaction then finished sentance. "But I do have a general interest in, ah, mating as it were. Or even playing match maker is fun, I'm very good at it. And as I'v heard most gryvern wouldn't want a tsume as a permanent mate anyways... Which is not ok with most of them." He explained this all with a lighthearted voice, as if it were perfectly normal to talk about...
After the slight plummet before, Geil couldn't help but also wrap his tail around mozer for added... Well... He knew it wouldn't actually help if they took a fall or mozer decided he didn't want to play horse-y but it made Geil feel better.

"Gryvern would not take a tsume for a lifemate," Mozer replied, seeming easy in their conversation as well. "Unfortunately, we must keep concerns of our own blood primary. Not enough gryvern have changed Realities for us to outmate. Thus we are only outbreeding until we decide to settle down with our lifemates."
Mozer hesitated slightly at the feel of the tsume's tail, but at least he didn't plummet this time. He just kept flying, however, knowing it would take them a little while to reach the Plateau at this rate. But any faster and he wouldn't be able to keep Geil on his back.

Geil rolled his eyes slightly, Hadn't he just said that he didn't think gryvern would want tsumes as life mates? He wasn't too interested in why as he had already pretty much heard the reason... He was more interested in how one would sign up for such a program... "I gathered as much already, What I was wondering is if there was a way to uh, sign up... I'm more than willing to help Diversify your bloodlines." He said this with a bit of amusement in his voice, it was after all... What he did best.
He was beginning to get rather comfortable with this ride, at first it was a bit... hazy, but now he felt less like the gingerbread man and more like... umm... Himself, he supposed, and it was kind of nice feeling Mozers fur rubbing against him as they wriggled through the sky... Which was soon obvious by a small sort of purr... One of the more innocent sounding noises that he made when he liked something.

Geil's question, whilst he had been expecting something of the like since the onset of the conversation, still caused a bit of a chill to thread down his spine and, for a moment, his voice was cool, "I do wonder if you've done enough already."
He pushed down the rise of agitation with a quick sigh, one ear flicking back as he heard wot sounded suspiciously like a purr. That rather made him uncomfortable. "With wot you told me of Natalya's recovery, I find myself reluctant to aid you in gaining admittance."

Geil let the first comment slide, he didn't exactly want to tell Mozer the likely hood of Natalya being pregnant... As it was probably a 7 out of 10 ratio... He had no real idea of how many kids he had out there now. And was really glad that most people usually forgot what he looked like after a year or so. He wasn't entirely sure why that was, maybe their minds just didn't want to risk becoming infatuated with him again.
But he grinned at the second one "That's understandable... I wasn't really expecting you to give me your seal of approval, and for what it's worth... I'm pretty sure some part of me is sorry for doing all the stuff I do." he let out a small and sad sigh, then abruptly started purring again... Well, he sounded like he meant it, but just couldn't control himself for very long.

"But the main part of you doubts there is reason to be sorry," Mozer said quietly, voice low and perhaps the comment wasn't meant for Geil. There was a distinct note of worry in those words, and, with their history thusfar, it was unlikely Mozer would want to share such things with the tsume.
"I will note that things tend to be easier with my seal of approval," the gryvern answered louder, as though he was speaking to Geil again. "Obviously my word is not law, or we would not be where we are right now."

He snorted slightly, sending the warm puffs of air along Mozers neck, as geil was still sticking as close as he could to the gryvern with pretty much everything he could. And he did not feel like arguing nature, feelings or points of view too much at the moment. They were different, and there wasn't much else to it.
Then his light purring halted for a moment, just long enough to hear a small gurgle of protest echo from Geil's stomach... right... Food... That thing... He needed to get that more often. "Well, so long as we're talking about such things... If I ever get my hands on another gryvern, I am the least likely of any sins to hurt it, unless it's uh, into that sort of thing." He added as an afterthought but then continued on with his small talk "And of course, If I survive the brutal thrashing that you are likely to deliver upon our descent." He said happily, before slowly managing to shift his gaze away from the ground and towards the approaching mountains...
He actually was beginning to like this Mozer person, he was overly civil about all the stuff that had happened and that was... refreshing to say the least, It'd be harder to talk to him if he uh... Broke his will and all that, even after he recovered...... What was with today and his conscience giving him the occasional twitch, It was like it was trying to bring itself back from the dead.

Mozer's ears twitched backwards with the sound of an all-familiar rumbling, quiet as it was, and the gryvern couldn't help a small laugh escaping him. It seemed so out of place, yet, at the same time, it seemed just as likely as anything else this crazy trip had brought upon him. However, he was not offering to let the tsume hunt; Mozer would take every advantage he could get.
"The point is not that you would do the least damage, Geil, the point is that you do damage. My goal is to protect my own, not lessen the beating they might otherwise experience." There was a fierceness suddenly in his voice and it would not take a great leap of the imagination to realize the gryvern had been the underdogs at least once before. He shook his head physically as though to clear it. "It's not as though my chances of killing you are much greater than yours of. . . " he trailed off, trying to think of how to word it. "Of an assignation," he finally finished.

Geil sighed, he wished he could go hunt, but he wasn't especially good at it and didn't want to delay their duel by however many hours it'd take for him to find something to eat. Heh. He licked Mozers neck lightly and made a small 'Mmm' noise... If he accidentally killed Mozer he might be good to eat... After all, once dead pretty much anything was just meat.
Then he looked back at the ground with a shiver "Uh, sorry... I have a hard time controlling myself sometimes." He said apologetically for the rather abrupt lick... Still looking down towards the ground e_e "If I were you I wouldn't have accepted this deal, It's not very fair... Although if I win you'll live, and if you win I'll die... So maybe the stakes balance it out more." He sighed slightly, because he'd actually feel bad if he ending up just having to kill Mozer, and he'd feel worse if Mozer killed him... Although that went without saying.
Although, unlike Natalya atleast Mozer had very little chance of becoming pregnant should he lose. XD
