Anyone know of getting one for cheap, on a yearly basis? Looking to start up my web site before July. I'm in the artist alley at the local anime con round here (Portcon Maine) and I kinda want to get my web site up and running. If all else fails I gots angelfire to work with.

godaddy.com or enom.com. I think even yahoo offers then for $6 bucks a year, which is the cheapest I've seen them.

Do you mean just the domain name, or are you talking about web hosting as well? I've got my domain name through godaddy.com and my web hosting through hasweb.com

I've got my hosting through powweb.com, they've got lots of features and I've never had trouble with them. The price is also pretty competitive though I'm sure you can find cheaper. My domain is through tucows but at twice that yahoo price

This is a good thread for me also, I've been thinking of getting a site for a while now, and recently I've started collecting money which may be put towards it in the future.
*takes notes* Also, any advice on what to look for / avoid in a host would be awesome.

depending on what you are looking for as far as functionality, I'd recommend 1and1.com. But if you want to be able to do php with mysql or anything like that, powweb.com has better prices than anyone else I've seen.
