So, I haven't been around much. I'm not super active, BUT that doesn't mean I don't value the adoptables I have. So I was really quite offended when I received the following email: "About 6 years ago you adopted a Felcan from this website : www.namelessforest.com The website is not active anymore and neither (I think) is the website you posted the Felcan on :/dragongoddess.tripod.com/wild34.html I would really like to own a Felcan and was wondering if you give me yours because you don't seem to be using the website anymore. I promise to give it a good virtual home and give you credit if you want. If you don't reply in two weeks, I'll consider your website inactive and your Felcan free for the taking. Thanks in advance! Sincerely, Thea" Is this common practice now? Am I missing something? My answer is going to be a very obvious NO, but I wanted to also make sure that Adlana/Nameless Forest isn't going through some abandoning procedure or something. This struck me as being totally out of the blue.

I haven't heard from/seen Adlana in a while, but that sure doesn't mean that it's okay to just take her artwork like that ***, what a crazy person.

Weird 0.0; I believe the Nameless Forest is still there the last I looked, though probably not active. On the plus side, the person asked first, which is still a step above just stealing the art outright.
Definitely a surreal request.

I'm certain Adlana would come back and talk to us. This was the hub of all activity - it makes the most sense.
It certainly does make me wonder how many people have gone ahead and took critters to make their own just because our pages looked inactive...

Glad to know I wasn't just crazy/overreacting with my "whaaaaat?" reaction to that!
I actually did forward the email to Adlana, and got a response--
"Hey, thanks for forwarding this to me. The Nameless Forest isn't active in the sense that I haven't updated it in a long time, but I do still pay for the domain every month and I still use the same e-mail, so I do still have some concern with what happens to my Nameless Forest stuff. Your Felcan is yours forever as far as I'm concerned, and it will never be given away to someone else. I'll send a message to this person telling them so. Thanks! ^_^"
Yay; hopefully that's one less person who will be as inclined to "claim" other people's stuff.

OMG, if that had been me in your shoes, that person would have gotten a blistering reply...I HATE people who are so presuming - and why not start at the source and not at the owner? I really don't understand these people. I'd also like to know HOW they know that the Nameless Forest and your website aren't active - just because there aren't dates doesn't mean it's not being used!
Sorry, gone a little off topic here. Anyways, I love the Forest, and just the other day was like, Hey, I recognize that avatar! Because somebody had adopted a sea creature (the nessie-like one) and posted the like to the Forest and I'm just like AWESOME because I forgot the URL (yes, I am super forgetful).
