Did anyone else install the service pack? And if so, did you have any trouble with it? I always have these nightmares of my computer going *poof*

Yep, I had to install it to get onto my college network, and had serious issues.
Like, I couldn't open My Computer, or get into files through Windows Explorer or anything.
Basically, I ran all the crud my college required, and as soon as it let me on the net, I uninstalled SP2. And POOF! All the computer issues vanished.

I installed it quite a while ago, and it hasn't given me any real problems. If anything, it made my computer a bit better. All the problems it has now are probably not SP2 related *shrugs*
(Ohmygosh, I haven't been around in foreeeever)

I've had it installed for forever and didn't have a problem with it....although now that I have a new motherboard...this thing has been acting really crappy. Locking up on me several times a day. Maybe I should try uninstalling it...*hums*

What about people running AOL 8.0 or lower? I'm sure 9.0 is probably fine, its recent enough. Yeah, I've always had that IE bitmap thing. Particularly when I try to download one of Aylura's chickens *g* But everyone seems to get that, which is why she provides a link to the picture as well as the picture itself. Maybe jpg's are just more prone to the issue than gifs. I think I'll hold off a bit longer before downloading the SP. First of all, it will take 4 hours using my dialup connection. Secondly, I should do a proper backup of all my stuff, after all, that's what I bought the DVD burner for With a proper backup, going *poof* shouldn't be so bad. The only real thing I'm worried about is the AOL not working with the new security patches they have. Though it would be a pain to have to uninstall the SP, or worse, scrap the whole thing and start over

Actually, I meant AOL itself, not just AIM. Its what I use as my ISP.
