So, since I got in that bike accident, I had this helmet which was pretty much... worthless. I didn't want to throw it out for fear someone might find it dumpster diving (people do that in cities, afterall) and decide to use it. So... what could I do with it? Well, I got to sketching and decided I wanted to make myself some armor-esque stuff for Halloween. After searching online, I came across some tutorials on making paper mache armor, and decided to try my hand. I don't have pictures of the breastplate and greaves, but wanted to show off what I'm doing with that old helmet. Usually, I'd brag in RL, but I don't want anyone getting ideas (we have costume contests every year and I'm gonna win, dangnabit!). So I thought I'd post here (even though I'm not done, since I haven't painted it yet). Note: my camera doesn't like taking pictures in less than full daylight and this was just a bit ago... so... ick. I think one can get the general idea, though. ^_^ i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/vahyla/paper_mask.jpgSide view of mask/helmet on my sofa, side view on my head. Front view of mask/helmet on my sofa, and on my head. In case the pictures are -that- bad. <_< 'Tis a dragon. =D I'll keep everyone updated if there is interest. Whee! Interest! *love* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hooray for sunlight and gesso... better picture of said helmet:

There are people out there who make paper mache furniture... @_@
And, apparently, the Japanese made -actual- armor out of paper mache. So it should be pretty sturdy when I'm done. ^_^
Totally cheated and used Mod Podge instead of the traditional types of paste, which I hope will still work well.
I found this way I could do fewer layers, make less mess, and it dries shiny. (yay, shiny!)
Sanku for the comment, Lumi. It'll be metallic purple, in case people were wondering. ;D
