Anything but that movie! NOOO! AHHHHHH! My mom and older sister are watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I have hated this movie since I was little. You know how younger kids are afraid of scary movies? Well to me this is the scarest movie of them all. I always thought he killed the kids in the end and it wasn't right and yea. Just plain scared me to death. And now they are watching the remake of it. Rachel told me about it and when she got to the end it scared me. So I'm hanging out in my room till I leave with my mom to take my younger sister back to school.
*Rocks back and forth wimpering a tad*

Oh my gosh!! I always hated that movie when I was little.. When the oompa-loompas would sing that oompa-loompa-oomidy-doo song! I would freak out.. especially when that girl blew up into a blueberry *creaps* anways, now that I'm older, the remake was ok, but it still wasn't like the greatest movie of all time..

*shrugs* Never bothered me all that much, but probably because I liked it that the awful children got what they deserved and the nice decent kid won the prize. Besides they didn't die they were all returned to normal.
I haven't seen the remake yet. XD

Heh - I myself thought the movie was dumb when I was a kid so I never really paid much attention to it. I'm kinda curious about the remake though...

heh I actually Like both versions, the new one because it was freaky and I liked how they showed what happened t the kids. Then put the story for how Wonka made the factory and all that^^;; just didn't like the oompa's are the same person<.<or the songs they sing-_- but not movie really scares me at all since I have been watching all sorts of movies especially horror movies since I was 5^^;;

I love it. When I was yonger and saw the old one, I stayed for the first 5-10 mins and walked away, becaues I though it was slow or something. When I saw the remake I loved it, so I went to see the old one again. Personally I think I prefer the Depp one, I like the creepyness he had going. There were some parts wich could have been taken from the orriginal and put into the re-make. Over all I loved it.

as a kid, i was only really scared by the old one's scene in the tunnel, the one that had really trippy colors and had wonka singing some weird stuff...
but i liked everything scary when i was a kid, especially cartoons that were a little out there. my sister would get angry with me whenever i asked her to watch the darker kid's movies with me. |3;

I liked the old movie, and never really thought of Willy Wonka as creepy, just eccentric. Hence the pick of Johnny Deep for the role in the remake kinda surprised me. Apparently in the book the guy Is creepy though.

I like Depp a lot - but he's not as Brilliant in this move as in the Pirates, though. The movie was good enough, imho. *pats Airraiser* My best friend hated the cartoon version when she was a kid, she couldn't stand it either. (When she talks about it today, you can see there is a trauma there :0) I don't remember it, myself. (Just on the topic of movies - did anyone see The Living castle? (anmie) It is LOVELY - that book was one of my very favorite ones as a kid, I read it Many times

I loathe that first one, so I certainly didn't bother with the remake. Incidentally, one of my little sisters used to completely wig out at the beginning of the Lion King - you know the scene where the baboon holds baby Simba up on the cliff so all the animals can see him? Well, she was always terrified at that part cuz she was convinced he was going to throw the baby over the cliff.
