Over at Shivuez, a user named Memoru has a website that she sells lineart and ideas for websites. Basically, you tell her the kind of creature you want, and you can buy ideas for a creature and lineart if you wish to make a whole new agency. I have recently bought an idea and some lineart, and I would like your opinions on the coloring job. Please realize that this is my first hand-colored creature, but I would like critizism so that I can make it look better. These will only be available for sale at Shivuez, so sorry for the only-Orcharders here but I thought it be better to get your opinions so that everybody at Shivuez doesn't see it right away Just incase you want to check it out, the website is here: www.geocities.com/celevon_denand this is a Poseidon element:

Oh, and does anybody have any suggestions on how to make the scanning job look better? As you can see, the background has that bluish-paper-looking-tint look.. does anybody have any suggestions to make it look better?

The colouring is nice, experiance and practice will help. For when you are trying to convey a mass or 3D effect, try to colur 'round', bend the lines as opposed to a straight line.... If you get what I mean. As for scanning... I don't scan images very often, but try erasing the background, or whiteing it out... I don't scan images very often, and when I do they are normally greyscale, so I can play with the levels, perhaps that works with coloured images too? Thats my input anyway.

i work with the picture afterwards in photoshop or you could just put it in paint and erase the background =) that works well too, it looks so cutee, i love the design you made on it xD

Thank you for your input guys I've been trying to work on my shading.. and I did the round-shading technique that one of my friends at Shivuez taught me, where you make the edges darker and make the middle of it lighter to give it the 3D effect, but it didn't come out too well after I scanned it. (It looked better on paper ) I'm going to try whiting out the backgroud really quick, and see if that makes a difference.

That's what I was thinking.. but I'm not really sure how.. would I just go in with paint and go over the outline in black or something? Or is there an easier way...

Well.. I'm trying to work with layers and try and make a new layer to add the original outline to the top of this picture sort of to redo the outline.. but I'm not exactly sure how.. do you have any idea?
