"Well then. We could do something daring and dangerous and not at all childlike, then? Like a quest to... a quest to...?" He deflates, realizing that he really didn't have much of a clue as to what the quest should be. I mean, what do you exactly do for quests nowadays?

Neth, relieved that they didn't laugh at him, relaxes a bit. He looks curious. "What sort of game were you thinking of?" He didn't act it... but he really was the playful sort, once he got used to being around others.

Neth nods to each of them, but then seems embarrased and says "Well, if we're all mentioning full names here... then mine's Neth'pen'gepet..." If he could have blushed at the, he would have- it meant "purple striped baby". He coughs, clearing his throat. "My dam's kind of... odd." He adds by way of explanation.

A tiny bit comforted by Hutan's nervousness, he steps up to her, smiling slightly. "Hello... I'm Neth. What is your name?" Knocking a hoof against the ground, he hoped she would at least like him a little bit; he was just a small stallion and quite shy.

A small stallion is nearby, not on the wing but instead on foot. The reason for this soon becomes clear as you see that the wind is too much for his light, dragonfly-like wings. Purple mane flapping violently in the wind as he looks about, he notices several other paints nearby. Shuffling one vibrant hoof in the dirt, he wonders whether he ought to go over there or not... He's rather shy and reclusive, you see. Shivering anxiously, he walks a little closer... trying not to intrude or anything. www.freewebs.com/otterflies/cavepaint.htm

Lullaby watched, a bit curious as to what would happen next. Vengeance never took interest unless it was for her own gain, or in somebody else's pain. The pain was over, so... What could this pitiful creature possibly have that Vengeance would want? Then again... traumatic events such as these had a way of changing the poor souls they were inflicted upon. Hider might never be the kind, timid thing he once was ever again. This process of getting up proved that, beneath his fear, he had a sort of desperate determination. Lullaby liked that, even though it was found in an enemy... Perhaps Vengeance wanted another slave. Or to keep him as a 'pet' for future atrocities. He didn't think too much beyond that; it wasn't his place to ponder the mind of his Mistress. He sighed, shifted from one leg to the other, wing flapping lazily, and changed the subject of his thinking pattern. His mind immediatley fell upon his unknown past. All the others had pasts, horrid though they were. Why shouldn't he? He felt as a child did, watching other, luckier children going nuts in a candy store. When pressed to remember, the only thing he mind spat back out to him was Vengeance, some wonderful gift she gave him, and then... something bad. He shook it off. How could anything connected to Vengeance possibly be bad? (A naive question, but then again, he admired her) No, it was probably just an accident... amnesia or something. A rock fell and hit his head, yeah, that was it. ((-_- I'm probably going to have him disobey sometime in the future so's I can write about him remembering and everything. -_- Not yet, though. ))

Okay, Crystal, I understand that you don't know all the rules of RP-ing yet, and that's ok! I mean, nobody does, really, until somebody tells them, or they figure it out by trial-and-error. They aren't that hard to learn, though they are a bit complicated. Here are the basic rules of RP-ing, as far as I know. If anyone sees that I'm missing something, please feel free to speak up and tell Crystal. 1) No Powerplaying~ Powerplaying can be many things, all of which are very bad to do while RP-ing, because it makes you look like a jerk as well as somebody who doesn't know how to RP. (I'm not saying you're a jerk) Powerplaying is, basically, taking control of another's character in your post. A powerplayer might tell what someone else's character thinks, does, or says. I.E. "I looked at Whats-His-Face, who walked away." While this may not seem so bad, You're telling what a character that is not under your control is doing. The more common form of powerplaying is when your character is fighting someone else's character. You must remember to ALWAYS leave the other character a way out (a way to dodge/escape your attacks). Just saying, "I gripped her by the throat, strangling her, there was no way to escape, and within moments she was dead..." THAT is an example of using powerplaying while fighting. This would be better: "My hands reached out for her throat, attempting to strangle her." This leaves her a way out by letting her do something like pushing the hands away or something. This is better, too: "I attempted to strangle her, but if she rolled to the side, she could break free." I know what you're thinking. You're thinking that this is far too obvious, and if you do this all the time, they'll dodge all your attacks and you won't win. BUT in reality, you're showing what a good, considerate RP-er you are, and if they're half as good or considerate as you are, they'll only dodge a few attacks, letting the minor ones hit them or something. Another good way to avoid powerplaying is to NEVER EVER USE FATAL ATTACKS. The ONLY person who can kill a character is that character's owner. And believe me when I say, no RP-er wants to kill off their character. KEEP IN MIND: Most RPGs BAN people for powerplaying, so watch yourself. 2) Keep OOC in OOC, and IC in IC~ We've been through this before, yes? Two people can be best friends, and still have characters that want to kill each other. And if another person's char calls your char "a @#boop$%# #$beepity#$% #$#$@beep$@$@!!!", then it by no means means that the player thinks that you're one, too. Also, I noticed that you don't really RP in a lot of differing personalities- most of your chars seem to act similarily in a situation, or just agree with your other chars. Try to expand! For example, I am a young, intelligent, slightly geeky girl. Do I have any young, intelligent, slightly geeky characters? NO!! That would be too easy! I have: a psychopathic mare who is currently baring a child of rape; a panther Queen who is noble and kind, but slowly falling apart inside due to the death of her mate; an exotic Arabian stallion who acts exactly the opposite of what you'd expect him to, and is slightly perverted; an albino gryphon who used to be a misborn and who frequently breaks down into babbling in an ancient language, and who has writing magic; A young stallion who is constantly bored; an Immortal Dragoness who is sort of kind, in her own twisted way, and an extremely powerful granter of powers; and a wolf who is a loving father. And that's just for the ones that aren't on the Orchard. EXPAND! ^.^ It's fun to expand! XD Have one of your chars disagree with one another or something, maybe. Whatever you want, the world is your backyard! -_-" 3) Your Character doesn't know everything you do~ Just because you know that ahead of your character is a trap, doesn't mean that your character knows. If the realistic thing is to have your char walk right into it, then so be it. Don't be afraid to do the realistic thing! That's what good RP-manship is all about! And, if the would-be trappers are any good at RP-ing, they'll give you a way out, and not hurt you too badly, just like we discussed in the Powerplaying section. ^.^ Also, while your chars can REALISTICALLY pick up on some things, a char cannot read each other's minds. And, by "read each other's minds", I don't mean literally using mind reading powers. I mean, if a handsome panther male is THINKING about how beautiful your girl panther is, it doesn't mean that you can be flattered, or worse, reply to their thoughts. ^.^ Those are just the basic rules, ALWAYS be sure to check the other ules THOUROUGHLY before rping at a new RPG. For example, Beqanna allows rape, while CM does not. And some places even hide secret passcodes in the rules that, if you don't put in your joining post, you won't be allowed to join because you look like you didn't read the rules... Yah. Rp-ing is a tricky, tricky buisiness... Can I give you some friendly, non-rule advice? You need to start using punctuation. Its very annoying to have to sift through a whole paragraph with almost no periods or anything. You may not think of it as a very big deal, but imagine reading Sith's or my above post without ANY punctuation. It'd be like a big mush of words and you probably wouldn't get half of what I was trying to say. ^^; So please, for the love of Davy Jones' Locker, use punctuation. ESPECIALLY quotation marks and italics around dialouge, and only italics around thoughts. It's really, really hard to tell what people are just doing vs. what they're saying without those things... -_- ...yeah. Ok. I'm done. Whew.

Lullaby backs away reluctantly. There was no pleasure in tortuing a fainted victim... And anyway, if they went on like this much longer chances are that their bloodlust would overcome fear of Vengeance. Hider would be scarred and in pain, and most certainly not dead. That was enough for him.

Lullaby laughs, watching until their prey was in full reach. How pitiful he seemed! This would be rather fun... An idea pops into his head, better than ripping alone. Electricity crackling down his horn, he steps towards Hider's form. Touching the crackling spear briefly to his hide, he removes it, leaving a seared, curved scar. It would be painful... Oh, yes. But not life-threatening, not at all. Eagerly, he looks for another spot to burn, eyes dancing crazily in the light of his horn.

Eyes still blazing, he watches Loveless for a bit. Widening the hole was a good idea... but it would take far too long for his liking. Oh, well. With a sigh, he flutters his wing halfheartedly, then goes to assist Loveless. The double-teaming seemed to work pretty well... But they'd have to move the broken off dirt pile soon, or else it would block the entire passageway.

He hissed in distaste at the quarry's cowardice. Now that the others were here, it seemed they would never be able to fool the wimp into coming out... But Lullaby was a loss for things to do. He hops down from the mound to stand with the others, horn crackling with angry spark of electricity. He couldn't fit through the burrow because of his wing, and it looked like most of the others were just too big-bodied to go in, as well. He was beginning to feel... not nervous, for Slaves felt no fear... but a tad unnerved... Vengeance would not like it if the fool got away unscathed... With a yowl, he thrusts his head as far as it would go, demon-touched eyes glowing, horn still lit with lightning. Hopefully, his appearance was enough to frighten the wits out of the squirt. Hissing softly, he whispered to the huddled figure there, going through a long, careful, torturous list of exactly what horrors he would inflict upon the prey, as soon as they figured out how to get him out in the open. "...and we Slaves never fail. So watch your back, pipsqueak." With that, he withdraws his head from the burrow, shaking dust out of his ears.

He cursed as the quarry changed direction. As usual, his overeagerness had not helped him much. But, at least his sprint had one good effect- he was now practically close enough to taste the little worm... Blood boiling with the fire of the hunt, he scambles after the prey, practically breathing down his neck... But not close enough to stop the little bugger from running down into his burrow. Enraged, he leaps atop the mound, clawing at it, eyes dark with murderous intentions. He wouldn't kill the thing, not while Mistress had expressively forbid it... but he could at least terrify it to it's wit's end. Unsure of what to do next, he sits atop the mound, watching the entrance intently, lest their prey try to come out. Maybe... Maybe they could convince it to come out by pretending to give up the chase? It was unlikely, but it could be their only option.

Whiskey's Lullaby croons softly to himself as the chase begins, and eagerly he dashes near to the front of the pack. Quickly, though, he realised that they were at a gross disadvantage through the woods. Hider could well, hide (the coward he was) far better than any of they. Our noisy chains and red colors made us slaves stand out more, let the prey know we were coming. Lullaby was efficiently intelligent, so he ducked out of the pack, putting on a burst of speed as soon as he was out of sight. Let the others think what they will; they could think he was trying to defy the Mistress, for all he cared. But he, not they, would be the one to cut ahead of their prey and snatch the worthless thing. Then Mistress would be happy... then he wouldn't be ignored any longer. Pinning his wing to his side, he locks onto the prey's trail and sprints, curving to get between Hider and his escape route. If all went well, the other slaves would chase Hider straight into his claws. ((0.o What an ambitious fellow! He seems to have a... rather twisted crush on Vengeance, too... It's wierd, what the mind comes up with sometimes, huh?))
