"Such a marvelous flyer!" the mare called enthusiastically as her hooves pounded an unforgiving rhythem upon the earth she so loved. With one long look at him, she offered a smile and then a small buck that showed just how wholeheartedly she was involved. The wind singing in her ears, the murmur of the woods as they sped by, the gently tickling shocks that spasmed through her as her hooves met ground again and again all thrilled her. Streatching long and low, she crained her neck forward and willed herself to become one with earth and sky, fusing the two, and reveled in the spine-tingling satisfaction it brought her, though her speed barely changed. If this Etem were to adopt a pace that was much faster, he would surely win; though Verana could not lose as she not competing in her heart. She was simply enjoying one of her loves with a new found friend; one who was proving highly capable in the skies.

"Oh!" Verana called, her laughter tinckling through the sound of wind and water as she rushed along in his shadow. Now this was a picture; in fact, it was very simular to something that had happened at home once, a dragon and tiger friend racing over the land to see who would get the honor of being named realm greeter. She stayed in his shadow as the tiger had, and tossed her main happily as she moved from a swift gallop to a full out run, pulling ahead by a nose, then a head, the light shimmering over her coat as the land blurred beneath her. This was the most fun she'd had in a while, and her heart sang with her laughter as they each flew over the land in their own way.

Laughing, Verana rushed forward, calling out as she drew closer, then even with him, working once again into her warm up stride. "Oh, you tricked me! How cleaver!!" After a few more paces her stride lengthened until she seemed to streatch flat over the earth, the wind tearing at her mian and fighting with the brook for dominance over her ears. Ah, he could trick her, but she could run!!

Looking back to see how well her new friend was doing, Verana slowed, then turned, still moving swift and sure as the wind since part of her still expected to run. She had just been starting to warm up, but something seemed to be wrong.....
"Oh, well what is it," she asked as if in responce to some statement. There was still a half smile on her face, one that hoped for good things, but her eyes glittered with concern. As sweet as her voice was, her heart was even more so. Perhaps she shouldn't have started so fast....After all, her warm up speed was quite different from the others she'd seen, not that they were many. Trotting lightly, she joined Etem's side and followed his gaze, tilting her head as she studied the ground. "What happened," she asked again, wondering what is was about that little patch that could have made him stop.

OOC| *laughs* Don't worry, we've all been there
BIC| Very nearly shivering in her eagerness, Verana let her limbs streatch low to the ground, felt the earth beneath her and the sky above, and determined to fly between the two as if they were one. With a short, ringing laugh, she started off, her long body flowing easily through the air. It was always best to simply start slow, to warm up, and she did. Even so, a greyhound would have been hardpressed to match her as of yet. Oh, how she loved to run!

What a delightful idea! "Oh, yes, I'd love to run! After seeing how strong your legs are I'm not so sure I'd win anymore, but I am fleet!" And this much was true as her long, supple body rippled in eagerness to prove her claim. There wasn't great power in her limbs, but there was grace and length, and that would most certainly come in handy. Such was her eagerness that she forgot her hundred questions on living with others, and in a charity.

OOC| *laughs* Yea, I agree. I did something like that once, and as soon as I decided to use a song I wrote one. It's just called The Luliby, but I like it.
BIC| "Oh, I just wanted to see who I'd run into," Verana said absently, and then laughed at her own pun. "The music of the stream got away with me though. And such a lovely song you sing! I'm almost sure you share your home already, to know a song such as that. I feel lonley at times, with naught but the little creatures I befriend."
With that she pranced around for a moment, eyeing the stream before taking a great bounding run and clearing it like an arrow shot from the strongest of bows. Delighted, she raced back to land beside this strong male, and then lifted her head as an idea struck her. "My caretaker says I tend to be random, and I suppose this is just proof, but would you care for a dare? I bet you can't jump as I just did. What with those amazing wings, You must not use your legs that often."
Tossing her head happily, she waited for a responce, greatly willing to see in which event he would beat her. Oh, there were so many! But if she could only fly as he......No, she loved running. Moving in the winds as they tore at the earth or slapped the seas against the beach. To run, for her, was to live.

OOC| Wow, he's marvelous!!
BIC| Running, laughing, singing, Faliverana raced along her path, challenging the stream in speed and grace as her hooves moved with the velvet sounds of earth beneath them. How wonderful to be out and about! As of yet she'd met hardly any other living creature, and certainly no other like herself, though her caretaker did promise company as soon as it could be found. For now, it was bliss to simply be in this land called the Orchard.
As she moved she studied everything, from the shape of the leaves to the pebbles that lay alond the bottom of the streambed. So many differences could be found from home that it amazed her. There was nothing, however, quite as amazing as nearly knocking over another creature, a male that was like herself but with a certain air of life about him. Oh dear, the silly mare had let things get away from her again.
She offered a rather uncertain smile as she fumbled backwards, splashing backwards into the stream only to spring forward with a delighted laugh. The breeze toyed randomly with her main when she finally stilled, a little smile apparent at the corner of her lips as she held back a giggle of sheer delight. How wonderful to make a friend!
"Hi, I'm Faliverana, sorry for almost running into you. I was so busy looking at everything else that I wasn't looking where I was going!" With a characteristic laugh she flicked her tail free of the last of the stream water, eyes glowing with delight as her laugh made several birds break into a moment's song. She had to laugh agian as a whippoorwill took flight overhead, calling its song to the heavens for all to hear. How she loved nature's music! And how sweet and tender was the music her own voice lent to the melody.

Faliverana laughed happily with the spring as the wind murmured through the leaves. Running alond its path, feeling the breeze tug at her main, watching the earth fly beneath her feet was wonderfully joyous. Swift, sweet, sure, she raced on, her voice ringing as a song as it danced over the sunlit leaves and blended with the humming stream.

Sukosh took her gaze off of the land to watch the three before her. Her ears were good, though not nearly as well as thiers. Her greatest strength was her sight, and the lava she saw over Ali's shoulder made her blink in surprise. Concentrating, she let out a thin wall of flame that quivered with the soundwaves. It took a good deal of thought for her to figure out what would cause such waves, but when she did she stepped forward, passing the others to streatch her neck out and sniff as she studied her surroundings. Something was not right if the earth hear was as her homeland. Slipping cautiosly forward she eyed everything, nothing escaping her notice before pausing to glance back at the others.

Watching silently from the trees Sukosh flared her nostrils, emerald eyes bright and sharp as they took everything in. She kept one on the little fox creature at all times, allowing for the other to study the ruin. Such a day as this should never have come to any forest.....

Sukosh snorted lightly, Ali's movements bringing many different smells to her nose, and with a half hearted grumble straightened up again. Brooding would do no good, and while this odd creature's efforts might amount to just as much she still wanted to be wary of danger. How well this little one could fight was a mystery, but two was always better odd than one in any sitch. She could help her quench her curiosity while better assessing the damage. It would do no harm, and might save some trouble if Ali should come upon a surprise.

"Then let us hope that they are either forewarned or better prepared," Sukosh noted. "If there were a way to follow, to even guess at the source of this distruction I would send word to all. As it is, we are defeated. I've already put out word of danger. There's nothing more to be done."
With those few words, she spread her wings and flew easily back to the clearing, venting the injustice by throwing her head back and letting out a long, deepthroated roar as a pillar of flame shot up, trying to touch the sun. Snorting, she leaned once more on the tips of her wings, and glared dully at the trees. They had been too late, as they had during the raids. The emotions and memories were so strong, that for a while she'd not noticed the sound of her plates, or the whistle of flight.

"I see nothing that can be done here," Sukosh said flatly, and glared at each of her companians. "I see no way to follow whoever did this. The field is too dead."
With that she let out a long, thin flame that circled high before settling over the blackened site to smolder the ramains of the fallen and sweep away ashes so that the small, tender green that survived the warfare could better grow. It was a rather quick clean up. Other than that, she saw nothing they could do.

Sukosh looked at each of them, her eyes flickering coldly before she started after Ali, giving a single cursory nod to the others. Death and war happened. What they were to do about it she had no clue.
