I think I'll stick with DA. I keep changing my mind, but the fact the it allows for the comments and it gives more exposrue than a personal website would.
If DA really was going to 'borrow' people's work, it would spread like wildfire around the entire site and everyone would leave. DA makes the money through people subscribing to it. It would be stupid if DA did do anything to the artists on the site.
I remember reading ages ago - I wish I had kept the link - that the 'loopholes' which had been spotted there were to allow DA:
It needs thoes rights to be able to avoid a lawsuit
Added:
It would also need the rights to manipulate the images for works submitted in jpeg and other files to create the thumbnails.
Keeping the work on the server for 6 weeks sounds more reasonable than for ever as it needs the server space. Time must be allowed for them to clean out the deleted work (done by human or program I don't know).
I doubt they would keep it forever.
Keeping this in mind I think I'll stick to it. I will be keeping an eye out for rumers however. There are my views on the issue anyway. It is really up to the individual however.
If I find the link to where I found the info I will post it. As I find more I'll post it here.

- to display the works and give it lince to use the art for deviantMOBILE,
- to allow it to be displyed on the comp screen.
- to display the works on phones for people to surf the 'net on them
- to allow the people to hook up their T.Vs to their comps to see the works (instead of a monitor which most of us use),
- It also allows for the rights to print the work for the prints wich DA offer. (I'm not sure the ammount of proffit the artists get, but I'm sure they do, why would so many use them if they did not?)
