"It's a funny thing, Samir." the little Gryphon murmured quietly, nuzzling his neck softly, tracing the tip of her beak delicately through his fur. "You give me courage I've never known before... You make the world so much less frightening." she moved back, pale eyes meeting his for a moment, shining with complete joy. There was the beginning of something in her mind, then, perhaps a word to speak to him at some point, but she knew that for now it was time to let the feelings grow.
"When shall we begin?"

"Would you do that with me..?" her voice was soft, full of brimming affection for the cloudy Gryvern, looking at him with wide eyes. "I.. I've always wanted to find them, but I've been too afraid to do it alone. If you were by my side, I think I could do it, though."
She found herself pressing closer to him, almost desperate for his touch. She didn't fully understand what the strange feeling was, but she could enjoy it, to be sure.

She shook her head sadly, nuzzling up Samir's neck towards his jaw in thanks. "I'm terrified to return, honestly. I tried once, when I was recovered... There was nothing left but a memory." she smiled a little sadly, sighing. "When disturbed, it is not uncommon for an Aerie to move to another location.. I'm sure that's what happened to mine. If I could find them, I would return to find out what happened."
She was as close to him as possible now, almost melting into his side for the comfort he provided... as well as that little shiver of pleasure and warmth she recieved from his touch. "Thank you.." she whispered.

Not as if she wanted to retreat from his side, finding the Gryvern's proximity calming to her aching heart. "I do want to tell you... I want to tell you everything I ever had to tell. It's inexplicable." she smiled, a true one for a moment, nuzzling his neck and purring. Her purr was a very comforting sound, it didn't take a lot to imagine kittens sleeping soundly to it.
"...The Sins came upon us when the adults were on a hunt. I was old enough to be considered capable, but I was not quite that." she shivered slightly. "The Sins came upon me. I was young and scared, so I ran. I couldn't.. control myself. I saw them, and I bolted." she looked at her own paws, sighing. He could feel the bumps at her shoulders very well now, and she twitched one subconsciously, almost as if hoping to spread a wing over his back.
"They followed. I am unsure of what happened to the kittens, I wasn't able to go back." her voice sounded strangled and sorrowful. "They broke my wings and left me for dead. I was aided by another Tsume at a later date, but it was too late for the wings. They were amputated to keep infection from spreading." She spoke almost analytically, distancing herself as much as she could from the pain, though it filled her mind. She could smell the bitterness of blood in the air, the memory stayed so strongly with her.
"I.. do not know what became of the kittens. They were my responsibility.." once again, her voice had choked, and her breathing was ragged.

She found herself settling against him, the position far more comfortable than the simple leaning against his comforting body. She could feel his body heat radiating from him, and her heart sang with triumphant joy. Surely, he felt whatever it was that seemed to race through her every cell..
"My family was... At odds with a group of Sin Tsumes." she began quietly, but as she spoke the words seemed to gain the flow that so commonly accompanied her speech. "We lived in a large Aerie, everyone was so close.. I was the oldest, and in charge of protecting my younger siblings. They were all so small, Samir, I was terrified I would step on their little tails.." her eyes seemed to glimmer at the memory, taking on the sheen of one deep in the past.
"Most of the time, I'd just curl around them and hold my wings over them and purr to keep them sleeping and warm. I really adored them, I do." she hesitated, however, pressing close to the larger Gryvern. She seemed unable to continue, then choked out, "Please, Samir, don't think of me less for what happened. I could not bear it."

"Only if you would like to hear it." she offered another smile, but this one seemed almost strained. It hardly made her eyes, instead relying heavily on the movement of her headfeathers. She had shrunk against him, holding herself close without being in his space somehow, looking as small and insignificant as she could. "I... feel that it would do me good to get it off my heart."

Sobriquet did not, however, recoil from the touch. Instead she seemed to relish in it, moving closer to him. She felt comfort being close to him, a new sense of security gained from the knowledge of his prowess. "Not at all..." she whispered softly, looking at the Gryvern, eyes soft with sorrow. There was obviously a story, and the meaning behind his shoulder spikes seemed likely to surface.
"I was not nearly so brave as you when my siblings were attacked. I could not find that courage."

Sobriquet pressed even closer against the male that she was feeling now more than ever was someone beloved as he spasmed, eyes closed tightly. He wouldn't know it, but she was a very empathetic Gryphon, and the emotion in his voice affected her more strongly than she could ever let on. She knew, all too well, the pain and terror accompanied by injury and fighting for one's life.
"You are amazing, Samir." she whispered, eyes wide to take in every bit of that smile. The horn on his forehead had new meaning to her, one that she would likely remember until the end of her days. "So brave... Not like me."

She listened, enraptured by the sound of his voice, beak open slightly with wonder. As he spoke, images flowed through her mind of the scenes he spoke of. It was as if she was watching him at the time. Her eyes looked over the horn on his forehead once more, suddenly very aware of how dangerous it really looked.
She found herself leaning on him again as he paused, very gently, almost reassuringly. She could feel the anxiety flowing through him, and she felt him tense. Her feathers were soft on his fur, and her body was warm.

Sobriquet's eyes were shining when she looked at him, almost as if by moisture. She looked so happy! "Indeed, it does." She murmured, moving her head to keep in his line of sight. She was, truely, beaming. It showed in every aspect of her, especially the lightness of her voice.
"I want to know more about you, Samir. Tell me about your home... Tell me about your horn." she purred. She glanced at the horn again, looking absolutely enthralled. She could feel that there was a story behind it, as it did not look to be a part of the male's natural structure. When she looked at him, she saw something proud, strong, and noble.

"I've.. never felt so open." she continued to look at him, offering a slight smile. "I'm not entirely sure what it means, but I've never felt so comfortable around anyone."
She pressed against his side slightly, rubbing her head against his shoulder. Beneath her soft feathery tufts, he would feel a slight point beneath the large shoulder fluffs, almost like.. bone? "I guess I just wanted to thank you."

The little Gryphon seemed content to say nothing, simply moving to sit beside the larger Gryvern. She found herself intrigued by his paws and by the way he held himself, looking so.. noble. She was most fascinated, though, by the shape of his ears. Her eyes closed in a moment, thoughtful, before looking up at his face once more.
"It's.. funny, Samir." she said quietly, voice a mere undertone of what it had been before. The sudden change in her voice made her seem even smaller, if that was possible.

A low rumble of a purr rose from her chest, the vibrations travelling from her head into his neck. It was.. an oddly soothing sound and he might find it even more reassuring than even her words. "Not at all.." she whispered. "Sophisticated and good are not often synonymous. I believe I have found the best possible company, in fact."
Sobriquet looked up at him, eyes closed with pleasure in the Gryphon equivalent of a wide, satisfied smile.

Her eyes softened as he spoke, she could clearly see his urgency and she felt all too well the little flutter in her already pounding heart. She saw his inner recoil at her withdrawl, and moved a little closer instinctively. She didn't fully know what to think of this Gryvern, other than that, well.. She liked him. She truely liked him, a gut instinct that nagged at her to spend as much time with him as was physically possible for her to do.
"Why ever would it?" she murmured, lightly bumping her head to his chest, feathers fanned with pleasure.

"Many. More than I could ever name.." she sighed, leaning slightly against his side, closing her eyes. She was small beside him, almost frail beneath the feathery tufts. Her tail wrapped around her body, finding its way around one of his forelimbs in the process. "I've traveled far in my life, Samir. I've learned.. through necessity." she smiled at him again, obviously unsure of whether or not she should continue.
She saw his hesitation and the change in his posture as he questioned herself, and her eyes seemed to scan his for anything she could recognize. "I-Is everything alright?" fearing that she had made him overly nervous, she pulled her tail away, keeping it tucked securely between her forelegs.
