"Large prey, large kill." she said as she examined the corpse for a moment, definitely not a small kill but she thought maybe it was not a large kill... She didn't know what else it would be however so large it was. Hmm... A Gryvern would definitely be a large kill, she decided.
When her attention moved away from the dead food prey, it went over to the Casimir prey... Before she leaned over and licked and rubbed against his face again.
~~
Angelus nodded to mozer, it was kind of creepy the way he looked at people... Not only because of the pitch black eyes but because he used very exaggerated head movements so that others could tell exactly what he was paying attention to, or whom he was talking to. "Anytime," he replied sarcasticly and well... He actually could return the pain any time <.<;
He watched her as she seemed very interested in his healing techniques, and didn't seem offended at all when she averted her gaze, it was a rather common occurence so he had become used to it. "Why am I here? Well, you would have to ask my parents that... Err..." he paused, his parents were rather dead and he decided it would not be prudent to mention he had killed them himself... "And my business, Was making sure you weren't eaten by any scary monsters while your friends went hunting in the woods. Jaradka said you would need a babysitter." he said with a rather amused grin appearing.

Casimir wasn't certain if he'd ever grow accustomed to Jaradka's abrupt shows of affection, and yet. . . at the same time it was rather nice. Especially since so many gryvern were uncomfortable simply approaching him. But that was neither here nor there. He had been noticeably silent, at least to another gryvern, perhaps it wouldn't matter to Jaradka, for just a few moments too long before he recalled his wandering thoughts.
"Perhaps we can share this with the group," he suggested mildly. "If Mozer has had a Healing, he might be hungry." Actually, that was a bit of an understatement. Flying took more energy then simply running, and Mozer tended to fly a lot more often than he ran. Probably one of the reasons he was so very slim.
--
"I don't think anything would be able to eat Astafy," Mozer said a bit dryly, mind on the fact that she had an exceedingly healthy set of lungs for a Healer. Or maybe that was to be expected.
"Scary monsters?" Astafy asked, sending Mozer a swift, grateful look. It was nice to know someone didn't think she was a total waste of space. "Do you know this area well?"

Jaradka licked behind his ear and pushed against his side slightly, of course slightly for her was still a rather strong nudge. "Jaradka and Casimir prey alone, Prey prey, not know Casimir is found... Casimir and Jaradka want to wait?" she suggested before pressing against him again to try and reinforce her message.
It was pretty amasing that she did not appear to be hurt after crashing through the trees and things, not that Casimir would neccesarily know that she did... Of course she did feel alittle bit softer on her shoulders/chest because of the bruises, but they never showed up on her fur.
~~~
Angelus chuckled slightly at mozer, he didn't know what sort of abilities these things had, but he was pretty certain he had detected sarcasm in his voice... But then he turned his attention Down to Astafy, she had just asked him whether there were scary monsters here? He wondered if she realized the fact that she was currently speaking to one of them.
"I have come here often, so yes, I believe so. What do you need?" he asked with slight interest, weren't they going to stay here till the others returned? Hmm... He could always tell them that they had moved... He picked his teeth with a claw as he thought about it, the few links of chain that remained on the shackle clinking in the process... He had very, VERY white and nice looking... Teeth that looked Very well suited for tearing things apart.
Casimir's ears flicked slightly, and then he abruptly realized wot she meant and felt a slight rush of embarassment. He had realized in an academic sense that since agreeing to take her as a mate, or accepted becoming her mate, the distinction was none-existent in his mind, that eventually this moment would come, but it hadn't truly sunk in yet and this just seemed. . . well, sudden.
It fit Jaradka, however, and he couldn't help being mildly amused and yet very pleased that she was so interested in him. "Ah," he said quietly, tilting his head slightly to glance at the larger creature. "Well," he finally continued softly. "I think that sounds like a fine idea." And, he, very briefly and very gently, slipped his muzzled along hers before clearing his throat again and had to look away.
--
Mozer only flicked an ear at Angelus, proof that he had heard Angelus' laugh, but he didn't want to hurt Astafy's feelings if he could avoid it, so he let the moment slip on by. Astafy didn't seem to realize that the males had a moment of humour over her, nor did she seem to realize Angelus' knowledge of the scary monsters.
She tilted her head at the large black creature and very carefully kept her mind on things other than how big he was and just how, well, creepy he seemed. She didn't think it was just his many scars and strange, strange eyes. The Light was fairly positive a great deal of it had to do with his personality, just further reinforcement that she didn't really want to meet any more tsume. Ever.
"We're just curious about the area, wildlife, indigineous species, weather, and anything else you could tell us," Mozer replied with a brief grin, seeming oblivious to Angelus' strange eyes and unusual nature. "I also wouldn't mind more information about your species, if you have anything you care to share. From wot Jaradka told us, it seems your society isn't quite as regimented as ours."
Angelus let his lips slide back down over his pearly teeth before stretching out his arms and laying down on his stomache, and kicked his legs out behind him so he could watch the two and relax at the same time, now he also need not look down at them which was a plus, that always unnerved people. "Jaradka told you about something other than hunting? That is rather amazing." he paused as he thought about the questions "Well, the indigineous species are a creature called Painted unicorns... I don't really know much about them. There is a variety of wildlife from rabbits to deer and such, I'm assuming you know what those are. The weather here is usually pretty sunny, although thunderstorms are not uncommon... You don't get snow until the Colder times towards winter." he said as if he had been reading his notes on the subject and well... Actually it seemed like he may have been, since he had pulled the book up from his chain and it was nearly concealed within his talons.
"I believe you are correct about tsumes... There are very few laws for tsumes and most of the time they are not even enforced anyways, There are no jobs or professions for anyone to fill since it has been so long since there was a large group of us working together, the most you might find in one area would probably be around five or six." He pauses and turns the page in his book, carefully, before continuing. "Tsumes come in a Variety of elements, or types however, And that type is a genetic thing, with powers associated to it. I, for example am a Pain type, I can inflict, or remove pain, I have slight healing powers and Enjoy the feeling of pain... And there isn't much I can do about that." he paused again, it was hard to tell if he was actually paying any attention to them or simply reading his book. "There are alot of types however, and you can probably guess what they can do... Fire, water, earth, air, rain, storm, ice, snow, evil, insanity, light, lunar, darkness, Necromancy, and Time, Just to name a few." He stopped talking, awaiting any more questions they might have and attempted to turn the page again.. Only this time there was a Riipp/crunch noise and he growled at it, baring his teeth momentarily before sighing and attempting to flatten out the crinkled page so he could read it... Even if he had read this book four times <.<
Astafy tilted her head curiously, surprised, ironically or not, to see the book. He could read? For all of his apparent intelligence and knowledge, she just hadn't expected Angelus to be so civilized. She was also surprised by the number of types of tsume they were. Especially as Angelus noted that those were just SOME of the types. "Do you inter-breed Types?" Astafy asked curiously and still surprised. "Are there any full Types?"
Mozer's eyes had alit on the book in sudden bright interest. A book! Of general knowledge, perhaps? "Wot else is in your book?" the gryvern asked, interest apparent. "Are painted unicorns sentient? Is anything else here sentient? Wot's the local prey? Are there things that shouldn't be hunted?" Apparently, Mozer liked knowledge.
Angelus looked up from his book when Astafy seemed to be interested in talking once more, it was strange that- oh wait, no it realy was strange that he could read wasn't it? Even he was surprised how quickly he managed to master it... But he was glad he had exerted such an effort, since it was much easier to ignore his lust for pain and destruction when he had something to distract himself with. "It's hard to find only corresponding types with tsumes, so almost all of them are inter-bred. Most of the time it is simply one, or the others type but there are occasional mixes, or new elements created, such as air and water producing a rain offspring. I am not sure what you mean by Full types." he noticed how mozer was really interested in his book all of the sudden, and it amused him terribly because in fact the book was simply a title he picked up called... "Hamlet." and contained very little pertaining to tsumes, or the orchard.
"I am afraid this book is only a work of fiction, made by humans. All the Knowledge I speak of comes from what I have written in my mind." he said then turned the page. "However, I can still answer your questions without a book. The Painted Unicorns are Sentient, I believe there is another resident creature called the 'Firebelly dragon'. The local prey is usually rabbits or deer, anything that appears sentient should not be hunted... As well as things that appear to be pets, or look especially exotic. As far as I know, there are no poisonous plants, vegetables or fruit here so you need not worry about that... Anything else?" he asked, before shifting his position slightly, and glancing back up at them... Well, he gave the feeling that he was somehow focusing on both of them at the same time but really he wasn't paying much attention to them and just watching them with his Peripheral vision, except when he expected more questions or such.
"If they're all inter-bred, how are there any of the original Types left?" Astafy asked quietly, nearly under her breath, turning to look questioningly at Mozer. The brindle glanced at her, before giving her a small, wry smile. "Not all creatures have genetics like ours," he pointed out. "There appears to be little interest in preserving Types, as we do."
Astafy made a small face, one more of uncomprehension. Why wouldn't they want to stay Type to Type? She enjoyed the company of her Dark friends, but it was the Light males that were really attractive to her. Perhaps it was just in their genetics to be drawn to their own Type. As far as she could remember, there wasn't any real mixing of Types.
Mozer's attention went back to Angelus then, however. "Is it any good?" he asked of the book even as he wondered wot other things the large tsume could tell them. He was the best information source he'd run across yet. "So your kind isn't indigineous here? Where are the tsume from? And wot's it like?" It doesn't seem likely Mozer will run out of questions anytime soon.
Aah, so that's what she was talking about... He kind of wondered how Their genetics worked because well, he really only knew the genetic structure of tsumes... And not terribly well at that. "Hmm... Well, actually Tsumes types do not really mix that often on a genetic level so there are plenty of original types, Often a fire type can be born by a water if the father was a fire... Although I believe there are still a few old clans out there that do strictly adhere to sticking to their own... However that leads to a rather lot of inbreeding." He said with a loud chuckle, that was something he really did not understand too well, except for the possible consequnces of mixing elements that really did not like to go together...
Angelus found the small faces and such that Astafy made rather amusing, she was very good at expressing her feelings with such expressions... Something he was not always too good at himself, it reminded him slightly of Vendsha...
"I like it, and to me that is what matters." he moved one of his arms so it was resting more at his side and held out the book a little farther, so that if mozer wanted to he could stand beside angelus and read it... Or look at the funny symbols, whichever. "You'r right about us not being Indiginous to this.. 'reality' or whatever you choose to call it. We come from Chaos Hills, It's well, rather hilly and covered in forests, sparse and dense. The weather is usually pretty warm, which is good for all but the cold related tsumes..." he sighed decided to answer some un asked questions. "In Chaos hills there is a human town, or city, not sure which it is classified as. In the city there is a person that takes care of and raises tsumes, She is also responsible for choosing where the particular tsume are sent off to to be taken care of. I was one such tsume, as you would not see a wild one anywhere other than Chaos Hills... With the possible exception of Warp tsumes."
It appears that it may be some time before Angelus runs out of answers as well...
Astafy gave a slight delicate shudder at the thought of inbreeding. "That's why you travel to other parts of the Reality, right?" Inbreeding could be a frightening thing. The mutations and just, eeww, thought of mating with something too closely related to you. She twitched her tail in vague agitation. Just, yuck. Her head slipped slightly sideways as she tried to see the text as well. Mozer, she thought, was one of the few who had gone out of thir way to learn any of the languages here. The concept of a written language, while an interesting idea, was really nothing more than that. The gryvern relied on their extensive oral histories, something under the care of the Historians and sometimes Scholars.
Despite the incongruousness of the situation, Mozer swiftly scanned the pages, recognizing the symbols with carefully practiced ease. He'd made it a personal goal to learn to read within his first week in the Reality of Hawkings Crest, and now often bugged Sera to help him read the many books she had floating around her house. Despite the basic knowledge, he still couldn't turn pages.
However, he didn't recognize most of these words, and he stared at them avidly, forgetting, for the moment, to ask anymore questions. The style reminded him of a book Sera had shown him, but hadn't had time to explain, and he shifted for a moment to remember the moment and the conversation. "Is this written by Shakespeare?" he asked curiously, pulling the name from the memory. "Can you follow this? I haven't gotten the hang of it yet." It didn't occur to Mozer for it to be unusual for Angelus to know how to read. "Who took care of you in Chaos Hills? Is it open for visitors? Why is there a human town there if it's tsumes' Reality? And wot's so different about a Warp tsume that the wilds would appear elsewhere? How far elsewhere?" Mozer also seemed capable of keeping up with multiple conversations all at once. ^^;
Angelus nodded to astafy, atleast she obviously disdained the thought of inbreeding as well... it was something they had in common. He thought it was kind of strange how easily Mozer accepted him as a Nice Sentient creature rather than something to be rather cautious of... Since, well if he met himself he'd be rather cautious.
Angelus slowed the rate at which he turned the pages considerably so that it would be easier for the other to read it, He was glad that he was not the only thing that had deemed it useful to learn a written language and speak it as well. "Yes, He is a very talented writer, this one is Called Hamlet, I'v read all of his books that I could find... It's pretty easy to follow if you can understand the roots of the words, otherwise it's nearly impossible." When he turned the page this time it was obvious that he must have practiced for a very long time in order to do it consistently without tearing the pages. "I was taken care of by Enietch, a small bird like human. And I believe the human town is open to visitors... As for why there is a human town there, I have no idea..." he paused and glanced up at the sky, it was getting pretty hot out here for him because of his dark colouring... "Warp tsumes can do just as their name suggests, The can rip holes in space and teleport to vastly different areas, or realities... However most of them are uh, Insane, probably from being thrown through dimensions and such... They are very unpredictable and can end up in any reality, anywhere." He shuddered remembering how the human town was accessed and how you left, Warp tsumes were unpredictable, especially if the one you asked to 'teleport you home' because you were really, really tired... had a crush on you and decided instead of home, to bring you to some random wasteland in order to try and seduce you later... Only to forget and eventually get rescued by someone who noticed you were missing...
Ah, he was so glad that he no longer had to deal with that anymore.
"I think I'm going to have to study some more," Mozer noted as he read the pages with very little comprehension of wot was going on. However, his voice had elation and it was rather obvious that Mozer loved to learn. "Any suggestions on the best way to expand my vocabulary?"
Then he was musing swiftly over wot he heard and wot had been in Angelus' voice. "So, mental note to avoid Warp tsumes, okay. Anything else we should be sure to avoid? How difficult is it to get to Chaos Hills? Wot's the wildlife like there? Any specific things we should avoid or seek? Is it alright to hunt out there?"
Astafy gave a small, amused sigh as Mozer continued to ply question after question to Angelus. The tsume seemed pretty easy going about the whole affair, though that last one had struck a discordant chord, she believed. It seemed strange to her that Angelus was affected by the mere thought of Warp tsumes when he was so frightful himself and so willing to interact with the craziness that was Jaradka. Thinking of which, Astafy wondered aloud, "I wonder where Casimir is."
Angelus chuckled and nodded, looking at the book for a few more moments before focusing more on mozer "If it is any consolation, Most humans would have difficulty with this book, And as for the best way to learn, I'm not sure... I had someone to teach me." he said as he went to turn the page then paused-... He had forgotten one of the more common abilities of tsumes, Mindspeech... It could be difficult to learn to initiate but it was never really forgotten and breached all language barriers...
"I forgot to mention one of the abilities that some adult tsumes have, regardless of type." there was a pause and then Mozer would get the distinct feeling that he was not alone... Well, more like there was someone else standing somewhere right behind his eyes and that person did not sound like someone you really wanted to be anywhere near your mind Mindspeech, It is something that is developed to bypass long distances and speak directly to creatures without worrying about being over heard. The connection is two way, one side need only initiate it. He could guess who's voice it was, but it was not like the voice that emenated from the creature physically... No... This voice was waiting for blood, it wanted pain...
"I would appreciate it if you were decrease the speed of your questions, or soon I may have to find some water." he said with a sigh before continuing on with answering the questions... "Avoid Evil, and evil type tsumes, Insanities... Necromancers, although if you meet one of them you'll probably die... I do not believe it is hard to reach, but I am not sure since since it is where I originally came from... And yes it is alright to hunt there, just make sure not to hunt tsumes..."
He looked over at Astafy and didn't say anything, Jaradka had said something to him awhile ago, and it was simply 'Do not hunt me' which means that she was doing something that she would rather not be seen or found doing.
Mozer had stiffened slightly at the voice in his head, dark eyes staring hard up at the endless black depths of Angelus'. Astafy didn't understand the sudden tension that flared between Mozer and the tsume, but she could read the suspicion in the Dark's frame. This mindspeech is not completely unknown to gryvern, Mozer replied carefully. We have met Naa who speak this way only. Is this a widespread ability? And does it go beyond simply speaking and replying or is there mind-reading involved?
"We will try out utmost to avoid such frightening types," Mozer replied, manner abruptly dampened. Perhaps it was wot he had heard in Angelus' mind voice or perhaps it was simply an attempt to rein in his multitude of questions. He turned to look at the female again and gave her a small, reassuring smile. "I'm sure Casimir is fine. Apparently he must have done well in the game."
Many tsumes have it, and it is a slight mixture of mind reading and of speaking... For instance it is impossible to lie in mind speech, you hear the persons true response everytime.... But I must warn you, what you hear reflects much of what the person is like... Do not try to listen to people who are mad, You can catch it if you are unready. He said as a slight warning then grinned and looked back at the both of them. "I am sorry to exclude you from our conversation Astafy, but my mind speech is extremely frightening to most and I did not wish to subject you to it." he before sitting up and stretching his wings.
He tilted his head and turned it to one side, creating a loud CRACK noise before he looked back forward, he patted Astafy on the head lightly with the one hand, hooking the book back onto his collar with the other one "Jaradka is intimidating, I admit... But she is very nice and would never purposefully harm someone she considered a friend, much less her Mate" he said than laughed, It was funny that it happened so abrubtly, were these things that quickly convinced to take on such activities? ehh... He'd rather not think about it right now.
