YOU TOOK IN A CAMERA!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?! They arrest people here that do that Antonio Banderas has a nice singing voice, especialy for latin music, but I've seen/heard him sing from PotO, and it just DOES NOT work. The Phantom's supposed to be european, not spanish. Though Antonia Banderas does make a kick-butt Zorro. The most recent Phantom movie wasn't a dud, I loved it, but I do still highly criticise it. Meg's voice was stronger than Christine's, and Gerard... don't get me started x_- Though he did make a smexy Phantom. At least when his mouth was closed. That scan from the expensive program (you should have gotten it, VERY worth it!), that christine has massive breasts ;; I'm suprised they didn't fall out of the slave costume . But omg your phantom's CUTE ;o; I'm such a PotO slave XD;;; I saved the newspaper ad from back when I first saw it and still have it all XD;; *makes a million scans* only made a few scans, and since photobucket is being stupid, www.geocities.com/figwit82/Phantom I'll do mre scans later, but those are some n_n

Leafers: Can I call you Leafers? XD I kid. Yeah, they're pretty lax at the Majestic Theater about that. I asked and one of the workers at the theater said it was okay as long as it wasn't during the performance. So before, during intermission, and after the musical people were just taking shots everywhere. Well, the Phantom should also probably have a French accent but uh...he was a master at languages so perhaps we can just say he could have any accent he darn well wanted to have. Oh, I bought the program, it's just that the scan isn't mine-it was saved from somewhere else. Yeah, the Phantom community has made Sandra Joseph's breasts infamous. XD She's a very nice person, though, I got to meet her by the stage door. Hugh Panaro will always be THE Phantom for me just because I saw him first. He's actually mighty fine looking in real life and he's got this great thin six foot figure that embodies the novel Erik. OMG! I just figured out how to use links. I'm an idiot. *gasp* Brad Little? I've heard his Phantom has hand (movements) to die for. Dude, that is the awesomest picture. *licks it* Edit: *begins to scan in her program*

lol, you can call me whatever version of "Leaf" you like, Leafy, Leafers, Leafster, Leaf, Yf, Yfael, whatever floats your happy little boat XD
Brad Little was the sexiest phantom *_* Too bad I was a SPAZZY little 14/15 yearold at the time n_n;; I fangirled sooooo bad for him XD;; He's a REALLY sweet guy too, I left fanmail for him at the Performing Arts Center like some kind of freakish stalker, and he replied! XD;; I feel like such a weirdo for doing that now, but it was worth it n____n and omg he spelled my name right *hearts* That made me ultimately happy XD

I like the movie, but the thing with Raoul's flashbacks is kinda weird. ' As for the music of the night scene... *shoves Christine out of the way* XD I *heart* Phantom!

Well it's on my movie-to-rent wish list. Anyone seen the silant version of the PTO? I have! Kinda overdramic (but that was common in those days) but it did have it's moments like when the Phantom was standing upon a tower with his HUGE cape blowing in the wind...thought that was kinda cool.

silent films are supposed to be waaaaaaay over-dramatic XD Just to make up for the lack of spoken dialogue n_n tough I'd *LOVE* to see a silent film as it was originaly intended to be seen *_* In an OLD theater, and accompanied by an Organ that would make me unspeakably *happy.* Lon Chaney was the original silent Phantom. And back in those days it was fashionable, so to speak, to bend over backwards and go out of your way for a part, like in Phantom, Mr. Chaney actually wore fishnets IN HIS EYES to give them that wide-open creepy look from h377 <_<;; And BOY did it work! Same for his part in the silent version of Hunchback of Notredame, he wore the hunchback version of a sympathy belt, 50lbs and all, to weigh himself down and give himself that distinctive "deformed" swagger, and I've never seen it done better n______n <3 I <3 old films.

Heh, I'm 18 now and I'm totally spazing over Hugh Panaro. I'm joining fanclubs just to find pictures and gush about things as stupid as his chest hair. XD But it makes me happy so I'll keep doing it.
There was a production in China with Brad Little where the noose in the final lair scene wouldn't fit over Raoul's head so Brad threw him against the portcullis grate and Raoul's actor pretended it was a magical human magnent he couldn't get off of. XD
In the movie Gerard was all over Emmy, heh. It was so different in the live version. But I'd take either just to be in MOTN.
I haven't seen the silent film but I've heard any phantom fan must.

Going a little off't the subject has anyone heard of this play call either "A walk in the woods" a "walk in the forest?" It's a musical comdy play with all the "fairytale" characters in it. I forget the story line though Do you mean "Into the Woods"?

The orchestra I used to play with once for a concert got the rights to an old silent movie with Greta Garbo and John Gilbert called Flesh and the Devil. This guy had written a new score for it and we actually suspended a film screen over the stage and played the score along to the movie. It was one of the coolest things I've ever done, and, in my own humble expert opinion, we were really good, too.

Oh man, don't get me started. My mom got the lp records of the british producation more than a dozen years ago and I memorized the whole thing word for word. I then got a cassette of the canadian production and I now own the CD version of her LP's. I was totally obsessed. I've read the book several times, saw the musical twice (though not in NY), and saw all the movies, even a totally gross horror movie version (not the original, though that was meant as horror too...this one was all about deals with the devil and scared the pants off me because I was home alone at the time). I went to the 2004 movie being afraid they'd change the musical all around and was totally impressed that they hadn't even changed words (though I think the chandelier fell later than it was supposed to, the were supposed to sing about it in the masquerade). I even bought a pair of mask earrings when I went to the musical...though I've never worn them. Pretty neat though anyway. And I think that led to my interest in Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon. Another cloaked, mysterious masked man. ^_^ And so my interest in anime was born. Though no one sings it quite like Crawford and Brightman, what I wouldn't have given to have him sing in the movie. Course Banderas would have been very cool too. I thought he did well in Evita...of course a latin phantom might have been a bit odd, but no more so than a british one. Edit: BTW, anyone want me to scan some pics from the booklet that came with the record? And I used to have some pics I downloaded from the web...can't find them now though

*Squees at Sunblind* I'm looking into getting the Canadian version of the cast recording. The one with Colm Wilkinson, I think. I adore his MOTN though the rest I don't find as inspiring. Where'd you see the musical, may I ask? And I think the horror movie you're talking about is the one with Robert Englund. I think the Phantom's name was Erik Destler in that one. The slogan line was "Only love and music are forever." I haven't seen it, though. ^_^; I'm a chicken and it would probably scare me. Yeah, the chandelier is supposed to fall at the end of ACT I (right after the roof All I Ask of You scene) but they put it at the end of the movie. I would have LOVED Michael in the movie. Loved, loved, loved. I am a fan of Gerry as an actor but he doesn't have the experience behind him for Phantom. Not too big on the idea of Banderas, though. I know it's unfair but I think his enunciation and accent might have put me off. Because in all fairness, Erik should have a French accent if anything so the English and American accents I'm used to are just as wrong. But...but...can't do it. And also I'd think of him as Zorro in a white mask. XD Dude, I would so totally love to see you scan some things in. I was going to scan my program in but I'm away from home right now.

*digs out the cassette, finds one of Michael Crawford singing various Webber songs, eventually finds the Phantom at the bottom of the pile*
Yup, Colm Wilkinson. And Crawford can do some pretty amazing things with Memory (Cats), And The Money Kept Rolling In (Evita), and Gethsemane (Jesus Christ Super Star).
Talking about Cats, anyone else absolutely love that one? The musical itself is on video for anyone who hasn't seen it or wants to see it again and again and again. I've seem the musical itself two or three times, and again my mom had the record. When I was little i used to act it out, pretending to be a cat myself ^_^
And (on an unrelated note) The Lion King. I HAVE to see that again. Saw it on Broadway a couple years ago from the 12th row, it was amazing.
Syra asks: Where'd you see the musical, may I ask? Montreal at Place des Arts.
Syra quivers: I'm a chicken and it would probably scare me.
Whatever you do, watch it with the lights on and with someone else in the house...and be prepared for really gross "skin replacement therapies" Ugh.
Anyone else have the Goosebumps version, "The Phantom of the Auditorium"? And I also have a little kids book told from the point of view of Erik himself. That was pretty cool actually though the text simple.
Will try and get some pics scanned in this weekend.

I haven't seen Cats yet though I've heard so many good things. I have heard the soundtrack, though. Lion King was amazing! I was so astounded by the sheer majesty of the whole thing. The costumes and puppeteering was simply wonderful. Really creative stuff. My friend bought the scary 1989 Phantom yesterday and we were all prepared to watch it with the lights on but it turns out that whoever boxed it mixed it up and the Phantom we had was actually the Claude Rains version and not the Robert Englund version. It was a bit of a let down, actually. And the version we had was...well, I thought it was terrible. ^_^; I've heard about that children's book. It's interesting that someone wrote it into one.
