oh, you know, I just thought of something! Lets see if I can explain this:
Copy both pictures (the colored version and the outline) into Paint. Select the tool in the top left hand (the select tool) and highlight the outline. Make sure that you aren't drawing opaque, (when the select tool is being used, two options appear under the tools, click the one on the bottom) And simply move the outline over the colored version, fitting so the outline... outlines the colored version.
I hope that made sence... haha, lemme know if that works?

GIMP is like poor man's Photoshop...XD...I've heard that it's better at some things though - I even know a couple of people who prefer it to Photoshop!!! Definitely not as user-friendly though...you really seem to need some idea of what you're doing...XD (That's why Kryos gets so lost trying to use it!!!)

Haha, ya, I'm actually computer-coloring challenged >_< that's why I thought it would be easier to hand-color these and just scan them in.. but then all this happened... *kicks scanner that screws up pictures* I think I have an idea to make it work better... and I'll post it later today to see if it works >_< And then Rhay's going to help me with this one ;D

Yeah, hand coloring always is difficult to scan well. ^^ Such is the sorrow of a cyberpet artist...
XD You could try next time, printing out the outline that you did on the computer, then coloring it in and rescanning it. FP did that a couple of times, and I'm gonna try it for my snakewings...
But I prefer just drawing on the computer- it's easy, especially if you use -lots- of layers and lock the transparencies...

That's acctually what I did. I printed out the outline and colored it, then rescanned it in.. I think I need to print it out bigger though, so when it rescans in, it doesn't totally distort it.. *goes to experiment*

*nods* print it big, that will help...you might also want to try to ajust the levels of the picture so that when you go to scan it the blacks are blacker and the whites are whiter.

Ya, I'm having my dad help me with the colors, because I tried to scan one yesterday morning, and it turned out with like neon colors instead of the original colors.. but I learned how to adjust those.. I'm going to go color up another one right now..

Ok, how does this one look I think it looks a whole lot better. Before I colored it on the paper, I went over the outline again with black colored pencil so I wouldn't have to darken the outline on the computer, and it worked really well. Tell me what you think

Oh! just thought of something that might make them look even better. Instead of using colored pencil to darken the outlines, try using a micron pen...or something similar. The pen will give the edges a crisper look.

Ok, I'll try that.. I know that people use those, but I've never used or acctually seen one. I'll have to go shopping ;D *gets purse and money*

they are a bit on the expencive side...however...like...$2.00 or something per pen i think...but they go a LONG way if you take good care of them, and make your stuff look great. You would probably only need a size 05 for thick lines and maybe an 02 or 01 for thinner lines...however...its best to look at the tips and decide what you want for yourself ^^;
