I have an interesting idea for some art. I want to press flowers, my mom always plants a ton of flowers around our house so I figured why not press some. But last time I did that it was like 13 years ago so yea, things have slipped my mind by like a total brain dump.
So for anyone that knows How do you press flowers? Give me the low down on it ^-^

Well...unless you have one of those fancy microwave flower-pressing devices, I recomend spreading the plant material out however you like on a piece of kleenex or some paper, and then stuffing it under a stack of phonebooks or other heavy books/articles. Then forget about it for a while and check back in a couple weeks.
That's how I've always done it...there are probably better ways out there though...^_^;;;;;;;;
Good luck!

Yeah, I think just tissue paper and a big book is the way to go.

I've always used wax paper and heavy things and they've turned out well. *nodnods* Just don't try to press really "thick" flowers like roses or carnations... those don't tend to work well, though you can dry them by hanging them upside down in a cool, dark, dry place. Can't have too much humidity or they'll rot. After drying flowers one should always spray them with hairspray. We had a really cheap, giant can of it for that purpose.

Cut them, place them between wax paper, and stick it in an old book, under something, if posible.

I've successfully pressed roses and daffodils inside heavy books. Roses come out really cool when pressed, but they need a lot of time. I did not use anything to protect the pages of the books (should have), but I just closed them up in the inside cover of a coffee table book and crushed that book between other heavy hardbacks. Worked well.
