Well, many of you may not know, but I'm half mexican. My grandparents immigrated from Durango, Mexico and came to America at the young age of 20 and have lived here since then. Though my mother was not born in mexico actually looks more spanish then mexican, she is fullblooded. My mother had me when she was in college/law school so for the majority of my life I was raised by my grandparents and I learned alot of what i know from them. Needless to say, though I was born in America and am half mexican, half scottish(wtf?) I was raised in a Latin household. As a young child I did my best to fit in with the crowd, so refused to learn spanish (which i really regret -_-; oh god do i regret it) and subconciously pushed away my own culture that I was practically raised in. It is only now that I'm older and much more confident in myself that I realize what a horrible mistake I made, and I am trying to become more familiar with some of the things I missed out on growing up because of my wish to be like everyone else. So...this introduction is very personal...but I hope it serves as a message to all of you. Don't deny your roots, no matter how badly you get treated because of it...because when you get older your going to wish you had been a little closer to it then you had let yourself be. ^_^
With that said...On to the draw!
I was really influenced by the mexican holiday "Dia de los Muertos" when doing these "on halloween" feoraptors. I sat in my bed thinking and thinking, trying to come up with something different then the usual, black with white skeleton like markings, green feoraptor with a witch hate, etc etc. I wanted something different, or as different as I could make it while still having it as halloweeny as possible. Then I began thinking of Dia de los Muertos and it hit me like a sack of bricks. "SUGAR SKULLS!" I exclaimed and decided thats what I would base my feoraptors off of. So these feoraptors are all based off sugar skulls I found thanks to the help of a good friend of mine, google. I liked the idea so much, I decided to make a Shriek, and the predrawns I did for this would be the offspring. I tried really hard to make everything as interesting as possible, and I hope I did.
So at any rate, there are two clutches, both have three feoraptors avalible. I hope you all enjoy the clutch information and the individual information and the feoraptors themselves! This draw will be open until 11:59 pm on November 1...aka The end of Dia de los Muertos. So this draw is really a "ON HALLOWEEN ANNNNNDDDD DIA DE LOS MUERTOS" draw. You have two days people XD have fun!
Both Clutch's Information
Both clutches are from the Shriek de los Muertos, a purely Latin based shriek and the only one know in the whole of Ayanula. No one is quiet sure how they learned Spanish (however bad and rather broken it may be), but one guess is that they learned from Arielle, as she takes frequent trips to other planets and galaxies to learn a bit of how life works there. Arielle has always had a thirst for knowledge. At any rate, these feoraptors can speak both common (English) and Spanish. These particular feoraptors prefer to speak English however, while their parents tend to speak more Spanish. Since these babies have grown up they have not seen their parents, and they have come to fear that they have expired either from age…or at the hands of another feoraptor.
This particular shriek had only three members oddly enough, and the majority was female. The two females were friends from a young age, and while most feoraptors would feel territorial while there was only one male in a shriek, this trio seemed to almost never fight about anything of that sort, and when they did it remained purely verbal. They all had immense respect for one another. The Father of both clutches and the male of the shriek’s name is Todos’ Muerto, and he was very brightly colored with many strange markings. The two females Nieve’s Amargo and Armario’s Huesos, where relatively plain in coloration compared to him, Amargo being absolutely white and Huesos being black with white bone markings. Huesos, if they are truly alive, is the alpha female and had always been rather jealous of Muerto’s beautiful colors, so she often wore a wide brimmed black hat with purple dangling trim, with red roses and a turquoise feather, and a rather colorful scarf, which she ended up giving to one of her younglings before she left the shriek territory.
Now I’m sure your all wondering why they have demon eyes. No, their parents weren’t demons in any way, shape, or form. It was because they were born on the day that we earthlings call “Halloween”. It is on this day that demons tend to gather in the realm of the living and stain anyone they can find. While the Shriek was sleeping one night, they decided to demon touch the eggs. Due to this not only did they come out demon touched…but also they were born a bit before they should have been. This terrified both mothers, and the shriek spent most of their days after making sure that their babies would even survive the horrible ordeal. While all of the feoraptors grew up demon touched, only some of them retained a strong evilness to them, while the others could be mistaken for just a regular feoraptor if their eyes didn’t say otherwise.
Clutch One
Shriek de los Muertos
Todos' Muerto x Nieve's Amargo
Name: Muerto's Cráneo
Gender: Male
Parentage: Todos’ Muerto x Nieve’s Amargo
Genetics: EE::TT::gg::HH::mm
Notes: His parents knew from the very beginning that his soul could not be saved from the evilness of the demons that had touched him. He has always been one of the biggest bullies of the bunch along with his sister Esqueleto (who was by far much worse simply because she was female). They both left together before they should have because they were tired of their parents attempt to change who they were. While not as crazy about it as his sister, he had always felt more of a connection to his demon touched-ness. He’s a bit grumpy, so I would be a little worried about him if you didn’t want to cause any trouble.
Owner: Spiderfly
Name: Muerto’s Dia
Gender: Male
Parentage: Todos’ Muerto x Nieve’s Amargo
Genetics: EE::TT::gg::HH::mm
Notes: It seems like he has been asleep his entire life, it’s near impossible to find him awake ever. He doesn’t really care if you wake him up, but he never really stays awake for very long. No one really knows why he is so tired and all together lazy, seems he’s just an extremely masculine feoraptor.
Owner: Ferabird
Name: Muerto’s Cruz
Gender: Male
Parentage: Todos’ Muerto x Nieve’s Amargo
Genetics: EE::tt::gg::HH::mm
Notes: He hates the fact he’s demon touched. He’s realized in his older age that most feoraptors jump to conclusions when they see eyes like his, and tend to stay away from him. It is extremely hard to find Arielle, or any celestial for that matter, and he has been trying to find her for a long time. He doesn’t know if she could do anything to reverse it, or maybe even make his celestial touched, but he feels he has to try to find her and ask at any rate. He just really doesn’t want to continue living demon touched.
Owner: Kryos
Clutch Two
Shriek de los Muertos
Todos' Muerto x Armario's Huesos
Name: Muerto's Flores
Gender: Male
Parentage: Todos’ Muerto x Armario’s Huesos
Genetics: EE::tt::gg::HH::mm
Notes: His favorite pastime as a clutchling had always been to gather up flowers for his mother’s hat. In his young age he was rather unskilled in picking flowers and often times the flowers had stems that were far to short, or the petals were falling off, or worse…there were no petals. His mother always humored him though, rather enjoying the gifts her son offered her. As he got older he stopped his childish behavior, though he was always very respectful and nice to his mother. Before he left the shriek territory once he came of age, he had picked her the nicest bouquet of red flowers, to which she cried and nuzzled him. She was very sorry to see him go, and he was very sad to have to leave.
Owner: Zelda
Name: Muerto’s Pancho
Gender: Female
Parentage: Todos’ Muerto x Armario’s Huesos
Genetics: EE::TT::GG::HH::mm
Notes: When she was young she had always busied herself playing with her mothers scarf. She loved how colorful it was, and how humorously it clashed with her magenta body. She had always really been the clown of the group of hatchlings, and always managed to make feoraptors smile and laugh when they were sad or when things were beginning to get awkward with her parents and her brother and sister, Cráneo and Esqueleto. When she came of age her mother gave her the scarf she had adored since her childhood.
Owner: Storm
Name: Muerto’s Esqueleto
Gender: Female
Parentage: Todos’ Muerto x Armario’s Huesos
Genetics: EE::TT::GG::HH::mm
Notes: She left at a young age because her demon touched-ness called for her to leave. She had always felt that her siblings, even Cráneo, were extremely weak compared to her because they did not fully embrace the fact that they were demon touched. She has taken steps to try and find Vengeance and to become part of her mob, she has not yet been able to find her, however.
