I always thought that Draft horses were like a.....a grouping of horses....cause Perchenons, Shires and Clydesdales would be considered draft horses....draft horses were just brd to carry or pull heavy loads great distances, with this breeding, they also became well-mannered and some of the gentlest big beasts you can domesticate.....At least...all of this I spouted...I think is true...I didn't have a big book in front of me that says it's true...but I think t is....isn't it?

Yes, draft horse is the general term for all the big horses. Clydesales, Percherons, Shires, Gypsy Vanner, Cob, Belgian, etc.

*luffs drafties* XD Draft Horse/Coldblood - A category of horse used mainly for pulling or hard labor. (Pulling carts, pulling plows, any sort of very heavy work) They have a strong, thick build- thicker neck, bigger feet, thicker legs, wider girth. They're also called "Coldbloods" because most originated in the colder climates, unlike hotbloods (Arabians) which originated in warmer climates and have a strikingly different build (Thin, lithe, fast, small.) Clydesdale - A branch of the draft horse category. A specific breed with specific qualifications. Color, height, bloodline, feet feathering, face shape, etc. It's sort of like saying "Working Dog" is a class in comparison to "German Shepard," which is a breed that's a member of that class. Draft Horse is a broad term to include many horses of many breeds. Clydesdale is simply one of those breeds. (At least I hope a German Shepard is in the Working Class... I don't know much about dogs. Or horses for that matter.) ;

And I shall close my mouth now...German Shepard in the "Herding" group.
AR, if you click on "Breeds" and the go to "By Group" you'll see the different groupings of dogs. Horses work in pretty much the same way, Draft would be one of the groups you could look by.
