I was wondering what everyone uses to ink their crits before coloring them. I am planning on getting some prisma colors but need to ink some crits first. I know, I know, I haven't given everyone the crits that they requested and I don't have all of my adopted crits up yet, but I'm working on that. For those of you who have not received your creatures yet or didn't pick them up to the the umm... quality *cough cought* of the pictures, I am hoping to put them into the computer with a scanner sometime before christmas. I will also by attempting to do a huge random draw for unicorns, chystolites, and other creatures. Also, I have moved my site, it just needs some adjustments to be made and then I will reopen the agency! Um, also, if anyone who has applied for a creature from me, or wants to do so, could you please remind me here. Just tell me what the creature was, your name, e-mail, site, and a description if it was custom. I know that I owe someone a part fox, squirrel, bat creature. That is sketched and just needs to be inked, colored and scanned. Also, I will no longer be doing any baby forms of the creatures unless I am asked to.

uniball makes good inking pens, they're good, cheap, and easily attainable. There's another brand that is only available at like, art supply stores that I'm not remembering the name of >_< I'll reply again later when I figure it out

Leafy: Thankx. I won't be able to make it to the stores for a few days anyways and I'm sooo busy right now. It will be a while before I get a chance to ink and color anything yet. But... did you want a creature? You can chose one from my list of available on my site at the adoption agancies thread.
Anyone who can give me any help can ask for a creature right now, though it might be another month before I can get to them. I'll try before that, but ...

Leafy is probably thinking of Microns/Pigmas... Those are, like, $3-$5(US) each.
It's not worth it to get those for cyberpet inking, I don't think. But if you're doing other inkwork, might think about it.
My favorite pens are Pilot V-Ball liquid ink roller pens, in Extra Fine. The "Fine" versions work well for thicker lines, or if you do medium-large creatures. I generally do small creatures, so I want the thinner lines the "extra fine" version makes.
Of course, since they're around a $1/each, you can get one of each and still have payed around the same as a Micron. ehheh... They even come in different colors, if you wanted to try that out.
And they last quite well (I still have some that work from 7th grade, which was about 9 years ago). Except don't take them travelling over the mountains. <_< Mine leaked when I opened it after that trip...
I don't recommend Uniball pens, their inkflow tends to be uneven sometimes. Pilot pens, however, I have never had a problem with.
And that's my 50 cents. ^_^

i'm a big fan of my microns anyways. i find that inking cybercrits is good practice for inking other pieces. . . ^^ but, pretty well any liquid or gel pen is good for first learning. ^^

Oh, there's no doubt that Microns are fun. I'm just not suggesting them for beginners. I bent the tips of mine when I was a beginner.

Apparently I use a Pilot Hi-Tecpoint V6 Extra Fine pen for inking, which I've always used because I used to borrow them from my mum and then just got used to using >_>; It's a nice pen, and the only time I have problems with them is when they're nearing the end of their lives and the ink is starting to run out.

yep, Microns n_n Thank you Cynther. Yeah, they aren't for beginners u_U;; Infact, I yell at anyone who decides to pick up my Microns and USE THEM @_@ OMG I WILL EAT THEIR SOULS IF THEY BREAK MY PENS.
Yeah, brokens pens are a pain in the butt @_@;; Especially when they're not exactly cheap n_n; But much death for the person who uses my pens too hard. MUCH death @_@

???Hey Mythhorse, thought you were supposed to be doing school work during your study hall - not playing on the Internet. You might want to get with the program or your site will be permanently shut down.
