I'm pretty sure I am not the only one to notice the atmosphere of boredom and resignation? around here for the longest time. Some of our favorite adoptions are no more....some are still around but the adopters have left.
The few that are still here are very sporatic, far between and the few adopters left don't seem to want to make a real effort anymore, to page the critters on time and well. (even I don't have as much of a will left to make the effort) With that lack of effort the artists don't really want to do any more. And yet there does seem to be abit of a demand left...I still want critters at least.
I do know that since so many adoptions stopped and I wander around here hoping for there to be something to adopt, I'm quite resigned to the fact that there are so few adoptions left and therefore don't really even bother asking anymore. With the lack of real encouragement and show of appresiation more artists are discouraged from continuing.
....I'm here wondering if perhaps there is still hope to change this back around?

*snugs* Yesh, I noticed that too. As of now, I don't have any suggestions to help bring the community back, though I think that at least part of it is the lack of new blood, if you will. There are rarely new adopters out there, and the ones that do come tend to be so new they don't know much, if any, of the etiquette of creature adoption. That hacks off the people adopting out and adds to the lack of drive.
At least, that's what I think. . . ^^'

Personally, I go through 'phases' of sorts... and I'm sure like many others here, they're dictated by real life. ( Such a pesky thing... ) I love adopting, and I don't plan on stopping, though I know I'm not always the best with paging. (Working on that atm though, woo) Part of that comes from the fact that I don't want to make half-bummed pages with the image and a stats table... I'm determined to write at least a paragraph or two for each page, hehe. So it takes a little bit of time, sometimes. As for adopting stuff out... I know I haven't been very active lately. Blame Ethereal, he forgot to put my sketchbook in the car, and so it's currently 2 hours away! Hehe, naw. I'm planning on getting some stuff out soon. But yeah, I also go through phases of sorts with that... Y'know, you'll see a bunch of Equapha, and then none for a while... lol. Yeah, part of the stages with that has to do with adopters though. Not many people seem to be around to sign for creatures (unless they're very established creatures ) so at times, it can be frustrating. And erm... I need to keep up with parents list... and when I don't get the URLs/Corrections, that can be annoying, as it is for many others. Often, I think, "Well, I'll get out some more Equapha as soon as the parents list is up to date." Then it doesn't get up to date, and I don't get any new Equapha out... or something similar. (Erm, I'm babbling!) But yeah. I agree, that the lack of new blood is part of the problem (ends up being a problem with nearly everything). Woo, we should recruit. hehe... And it seems that everything, particularly internet stuff like this, has it's Golden Age. Some things manage to have more than one. Who knows, maybe they'll be another. Erm... my train of thought just derailed, but that's okie. I'm gonna shut up now. ;D

I definitely want to adopt things when I have the time. Right now, for example, I am off for a few months. When I'm in grad school in September, however, it's going to be a lot harder to find the time to adopt, especially if the adoption requries a story. I have trouble finding good sites to adopt from, and I've just had time this month to get back to visiting the boards (Orchard and Crystal Palace).
So, yes, I love adopting things, and I certainly don't mind putting in effort and getting things on pages within a certain amount of time. Just looking for things to adopt... lol

Indy's right. I'm quite busy with RL now [school sucks], but I'm probably never going to ever quit cyberadoptions. I like collecting cyberpets too much . It may be an on-off thing for me but it's probably not going to be permanent. EDIT: I mean, permanently stopping. The 'it' refers to my current hiatus.

Well done on raising the point Lumi At the moment, life/reality has taken over most of my time. I have many critters I have to look after here. over the holidays I plan to set up a website that will show all my art, and will most likely take alot of my time, thatn and along with other hobbies, takes up most of my time now... On top of all that, I'm lazy....

*huggles Stormie* It is okay someone will claim it...I myself would be VERY happy to claim yet another ;D Lol...I was under the illusion once I was out of school time would be plentiful...but this is my first year with a full-time job and I have to say...time does slip and slide through my grasp at least. I had planned to have an adoption of my own started but *shrug* Things will pick up again...I am sure...we just all have to get in the right mindset all at the same time Besides....maybe everyone just needs time to recooperate?

Well generally when I open my adoptions up I only get 3 or 4 people signing. But if people would like to see more adoptions I can open mine up some time

I would adopt things out a whole lot more if drawing and coloring C'bana didn't take so much time. ^^;; That's why you only see an opening for adoptions from me every six months or so... Plus I'm a lazy bum and don't page things as soon as I should.

Adoptions should be F-U-N....both for the creator and the adopter. If the creators don't feel the need to draw things...then why should they be obligated to? If the creators don't have fun....then isn't that defeating the entire purpose?

Heh, if I get caught up on my other agencies, I was thinking about doing a random angecur draw over here. Right now, their only information is still on my market site, but I plan on making them a rarer adoption... *still has to revise that this summer*
