Sorry, but when were you in Argentina again? I can't remember...
My boyfriend was on his mission there from early 2000 to late 2001 (I think) and I just thought it would be spiffy if you were both there around the same time.

Oh, cool. I was in Argentina itself from about May 2000 to July 2001, so yeah, it sounds like we were there around the same time.
Argentina is divided into about 10 different missions. I served in the Argentina Neuquen mission, which covers the whole lower half of Argentina, from Neuquen on down. Do you know what mission your boyfriend served in?

He served in the Bahia Blanca mission...I think that's what it was called.
He loved it so much. He wants to live there now.

Quite a few of the people I studied with in the training session went to that area. It's one of the ones right above where I was at. ^_^ *smiles* He's probably missing the asados. Mmmm...I miss the asados.

Heh. Yes, probably. He said that they had the best food there, all except the pizza...That was the worst pizza he's ever eaten. He mostly talks about some kind of yogurt drink they have there and how you can't find any good substitutes here in the US. I can't remember what it was called now...

He liked that stuff, huh? Personally I didn't. Guess not everyone has to share my opinion, though. *wry grin* I think I only ever heard it called "yogur" which is spelled very similar to yogurt but is pronounced zsho-grrr in the Argentine accent.

Yeah, it was yogur de something.
He told me a lot of interesting stories about the Gypsies down there too. Did you happen to run into any of them?
I came across a few while I was in Finland and they certainly are interesting.

Let's see...I think I saw a couple from a distance once, but that's it. The area your boyfriend was in is fairly populated, but the south doesn't have a lot of people. Towns are small and far between. (Probably because of the weather--very cold & windy.)
It's a pretty big difference in climate between the top & bottom of Argentina. I spent the first part of my mission at the very end of Argentina. Then they transfered me up to the top of my mission (the middle of Argentina). The sudden change in temperature (from the low 40's to the high 90's) actually made me sick for a day. Didn't know that could happen until it happened to me. *wry grin*
