Two female Crystal Unicorns wend their way quietly into the Orchard. They walk astride one another neither saying a word but instead taking advantage of a companionable silence. One is a beautiful mare with a coat that shimmers a lovely gold. She walks delicately, hooves barely grazing the soft grass. Her pale green eyes, soft and kind, are often obscured by her white mane which pours down over her neck and back in a milky cascade. www.angelfire.com/pokemon2/orcarina/crystal2.htmThe other, also a mare, walks with her head gracefully arched up. She steps deliberately with great grace and poise. Her strange buckskin coat, mottled by white forelegs and striped back legs, is dusty with the signs of a recent long run over a wide expanse. scirth.angelcities.com/crystals.htm

A trumpet resounding through the wend of trees as thundering hooves announce the presence of another crystal. Hooves throwing up clouds of dust, the steed whisked past the companionable mares with a buging whinny. Raising high on his haunches, fore hooves paw low above the ground as he makes another pass around the two mares. Now whickering politely, he approaches carefully, head dipped respectfully, ebon tassels concealing his rakish features. Cobalt gaze taking in the two crystal mares, he lifted a hoof in a showy manner, tossing his plume to the side as he made his polite greeting. www.geocities.com/spacy_chick66416/crys2

Two more stallions enter the Orchard, in a sort of strained silence. One has been here before, the elder of the two half-brothers. His eyes dart fiercly around him, occasionally resting on his 'companion' for a few seconds before darting away. The other Crystal seems a bit more relaxed, though his eyes remain mostly hidden under a shock of hair. He walks at the same pace as the first, but there's a bit of a distance between them; it's obvious that, while they tolerate each other, they are by no means close friends. The second, white-maned Crystal seems to tilt his head towards the other slightly. "You know, if you weren't always out looking for bloodshed, you might actually find a mare or two to start a band with." He snorts as the other glares in his direction, but gets no response. They spot the three other Crystals around the same time. The first, fire-streaked stallion stops short, snorting loudly as he spots the other stallion. The second glances again at his half-brother through his mane, and gives a derisive snort, continuing his walk towards the others. dragongoddess.tripod.com/mist37.htmletaven.chinaberries.net/ftrail/path57.html

Turning his golden pate, the stallion viewed the encroaching steeds for a few moments. Ears perked at attention, his graceful bough raises up, neck craning to view the pair better. Cobalt gaze focusing on them, he felt almost threatened by the direct gaze of the one strewn with flames.
Instead, he made his way to the one of serene ebony, finding companionable silence with the one of quiet dignity. Knowing not all crystals were amiable, he halted askance of the pair, tilting his pate to view the pair from under a veil of ivory.
Glancing at one then the other, he allowed a soft whicker to waft from his nares, trying to gauge the emotions of the pair of them. If they were to be violent, he had best make a hasty retreat, despite the promise of females. He knew himself to be too young to take on these elder, mature stallions.

The ebony Crystal stops as well, and bows his head slightly to the other stallion. "Greetings," he says, seeming to ignore his companion, who is still stopped, staring at the gold and white stallion. "I am Kenenia," he says, flicking his head to displace his mane, though it does barely anything, and his eyes remain fairly hidden. "Hallucination, in the common tongue." His tail flicks back, seeming to indicate the fire-marked stallion. "My half-brother, Fra'Keleb. Wildfury, in the common tongue."
The other stallion's gaze flickers to Kenenia. "I need no introduction from you, second-born," he states, voice low, and with a permanent dangerous tone to it.
Kenenia pays no heed to the subtle insult, but, without a glance back, replies. "It would be unlikely that you'd trouble yourself to state your own name. I did you the favor." He turns his gaze to the mares, who are a bit farther from him. "Greetings," he calls to them.

The two mares seem not at all ruffled by the sudden and dramatic appearance of the golden steed. Though they seem to take this unexpected greeting a bit differently between them. The golden mare just slows to a stop, one delicate hoof half poised above the ground in midstep. She carefully lowers this hoof and looks at the three other stallions in a good natured way. It is she who returns Kenenia's greeting.
"Good day, Kenenia and Fre'Keleb." She calls out in a soft and whimsical voice. "I am Kabiy'celi or Gold Dust in the common tongue and this is Adianen'kik, Timeless Dance."
The second mare, the buck skin, is silent still. However as the gold and white stallion whisks by she throws her head up in with sort of spirited flick that throws back her mane. Her eyes are green like jade and burn with a fierce pride inside.

Auds pricked to catch the greetings of Kenenia, and then to hear the names of the two mares. Formality still in place, he knew he should now announce his name as well. Opening his maw to utter his name, his gaze caught at a steed of aureate and ivory, such as himself. Pausing, he turned to his fellow companion and nodded slightly, they were both steeds under the caring of Arriaki.
The new stallion allowed his calm gaze to survey the tense situation, measuring up the two strange stallions. Pacing closer to his companion, he nudged his companion knowingly, nipping gently at his shoulder in gentle play. " Quite a tense little crowd....I suppose your main focus were the ladies?"
Chuckling low in his throat,Zuyzi'biir dipped his head to nuzzle at Ainne, being he was shorter in stature then himself.
" Well that is the main reason of me being a showy steed, but then these two showed up...I'm wary of the one known as Fra'Keleb....."
Shaking his concern off, Ainne circled to the other side of his companion and looked closer at the two stallions. Quirking an eyebrow, he raised his pate, leveling the gaze of the larger crystals with his steady gaze.
" Greetings to you sirs, Fra'Keleb and Kenenia...and to you ladies, Kabiy'celi and Adianen'kik. We are Zuyzi'biir and Ainne'mectine'sunimect. Now, may we conversate?"
With that, he gave Zuyzi a nudge as he loped quietly over to the buckskin mare. Nodding cordially to Kabiy'celi, he then turned his attention to Adianen'kik. Dipping formally, he stepped closer, green eyes meeting hers with a sparkle of interest.... "Adianen'kik? May I have the honor of speaking with you?"

Kabiy'celi nods her head politely at the other stallion. Her companion, the buck skin Adianen'kik, however, remains quite silent. Kabiy'celi shifts her weight in the uncomfortable silence and then clears her throat.
"My apologies, sir Ainne'mectine'sunimect. Adianen'kik is partially mute."
She hesitates, looking into the fierce unblinking eyes of the other mare but is given no signal of displeasure so she continues. "She can speak but not often and only to those she knows well. The last time she spoke to me may have been a few weeks ago."
A slight smile crosses her face. "She told me I was a sullen cow. I'm afraid the last time we spoke we were arguing. We've made up now, though." The golden mare laughs, a rich deep sound that is not at all forced but quite geniuine. Adianen'kik's proud eyes sparkle gaily.

At first confused at Adianen'kik's silence, he then almost blushed with embarrassment at his agregious mistake. Slowly sidling away, he apologized profusely, at the end realizing that no offense had been taken either way.
Stepping back towards the pair, his features were polite and amiable as he once again made his approach.
" Terribly sorry for my error Miss Kabiy'celi, call me Mect please if you will...and you too Miss Adianen'kik if you so wish. "
Turning his attention to Kabiy'celi, he dipped his crest apologetically, looking rather sheepish and nervous.
" Well, would Miss Adianen'kik be willing to communicate with me in other ways? We are all here to meet others, and Zuyzi is otherwise occupied with wtaching those two stallions..." He looked to his companion ho was still apprehensively watching the two steeds, glancing towards Miss Kabiy'celi with a rakish grin of interest...

"Greetings," Kenenia calls out in response to the new stallion. He watches and listens to the exchange between the others, then, with one final derisive glance back at his still-glowering companion, steps a bit closer to the others with a friendly demeaner.
In response to the buckskin mare's partial muteness, he glances in her direction, eyes visible from under his mane for a few moments, and gives an equine smile of sorts. "Too often we rely on words alone, when sometimes they are quite unnecessary. A silent action can be worth twice as much, if not more."
His ears swivel back for a moment, and he makes one more attempt to engage his half-brother. "However, such an unfriendly silence is most unnessary," he states.
Fra'Keleb's gaze sweeps the other Crystal's once more, softening for only the barest of moments when it alights upon the mares, before becoming unreadable. He relents slightly, taking a few steps closer, and while he by no means becomes peaceful, the aura of anger and fierceness surrounding him fades a bit. Kenenia seems pleased enough by this small attempt at socialness from the other stallion, and turns his attention fully back to the others.

"Mect then, I suppose. You may call me Celi if you wish that. I have yet to determine if Adianen'kik will allow anyone to call her by anything but her name so I suppose for now you will have to continue to call her what everyone else calls her."
Replies the golden mare smoothly. "The two of you may call me that as well." She says, turning to address Kenenia and Fra'Keleb.
"Miss Adianen'kik would love to communite in other ways. She does love to put a word in even if she is usually physically incapable of doing so. We've found she can speak only when driven by moments of intense emotional arousual. Otherwise, though unable to vocalize her thoughts she has found other ways to do so."
Adianen'kik nods briskly in agreement with Celi and then tosses her head a bit at Kenenia's words.

Zuyzi nods at the frank wit and intellect of Kenenia, wishing he had such charm to impress the lovely mare known as Celi. Swallowing down a tinge of jealousy towards Mect and kenenia, his gaze turned to Fra'Keleb. Warily, he shifted towards the nonchalant steed, alert and aware of any move taken by the sahib. Finally coming within range of the behemoth, he dipped his gaze respectfully in greeting...
" A lovely day is it not, Sir Fra'Keleb? Decide to make an appearance for the ladies it seems....or do I presume to easily?"
Meanwhile, Mect was once again cool and calm in demeanor and stature. His hooves rested lightly agaisnt the ground and his pate dipped ever so slightly, ears laid back casually to create an appearance of almost a lazy interest as his cool green gaze still focused 'pon Adianen'kik.
He too envied Kenenia his savy words, wishing he had been able to wheddle into the buckskin's attentions but it seemed a dismal hope at best. Slowly his gaze drifted over his shoulder, keeping an eye out for Zuyzi, making sure he was behaving as best he might.

Celi picks up the tension between the four other stallions and is worried by it. A maternal and caring creature at heart she dislikes violence and reveals in peace. She does her best to keep her feelings hidden, however, and simply smiles tenderly in a way that encompasses each stallion equally-a smile she has perfected through time and experience.
Adianen'kik has been weighing up each stallion with a fiery caculating eye (she has felt Mect's gaze). She seems especially interested in Fra'Keleb. Whether this is because his fiery aura attracts her or simply because his behavior has given her reason to keep a wary eye on him is unclear at the moment. Even so, she senses the other's distress. She turns to the golden mare, communicating with a significant look and a soft smile. She is telling the other not to be alarmed, things will turn out.

Fra'Keleb's nostrils widen as he takes in the scent of the other stallion. He stamps a foot, switching his weight from side to side a bit, but another glance from Kenenia seems to settle him a bit. "I come only to appease my half-brother's pestering," he replies to Zuyzi, though his eyes do occasionally flicker to the mares.
"As if you don't harbor secret wishes of starting a band even greater than father's," Kenenia calls out, in reply to Fra'Keleb's reply, with a slight equine-smile and a swish of his tail.
Fra'Keleb levies another glare at Kenenia, who, as usual, ignores it, focusing instead on the others.
He picks up a bit on the wariness of the Crystals new to him, and, having known Fra'Keleb for the majority of his life, is accustomed to it, though a bit of anxiety is released with a stomp of his hoof. Or, perhaps not anxiety, but a sort of tiredness for the tension caused by his companion. "His intentions are more honorable than he cares to show," he says simply of the other, with a shrug-like toss of his head. Fra'Keleb's ears simply twitch, as if he is unsure of what to make of this comment.
