The stallion rises from the bushes, body strangely reflecting the sky as he moved. Six pairs of silver wings line his back, from a tiny pair barely visible on his neck, to the largest set at his withers, and four more small pairs tucked along his spine. He jerks his tail and a sprig of the bush flies free, revealing his serpential tail with a long scythe on the end. He is definitely not a natural conglomeration of parts.
Bismark moved directly between the mare and the oncoming stallion, who ignored the others of the group as he stared at Bismark flatly. It seemed to distress him and relief him to see the stallion and his tail lashed dangerously back and forth. Bismark stood firm, staring at an old member of their I'er with a hint of the horror and sadness he felt within. He shifted his weight slightly so he could touch the mare standing behind him, instantly calming with the physical contact. Everything would be okay.
Who are you? he asked the newcomer softly. Wot are you called?
The stallion tossed his head at the question, staring hard at Bismark for another long minute, as though Bismark asking had confused him. Bismark tilted his head, asking again, Who are you?
24601, the reflective stallion replied and Bismark physically winced at the name, at wot could only have been his project number in the lab.

He's one of us, isn't he, the red mare whimpers, not bothering to shield from the others. She begins backing away and now directs herself to Bismark alone. Stop talking to him. Let's go. Quick.

Bismark glanced hesitantly at the mare, ears flicking about uncertainly. He didn't want to leave the other stallion; his need for their I'er was almost desperate. Nevertheless, he bowed his head and turned to follow the mare.
Solearth couldn't believe his eyes, tossing his head slightly. Broken-shin. The mare nodded cutting easily around and blocking the mare's escape path.
Please excuse us for a moment, 24601, the Kaigaihen stallion said easily. We must have a word with these two. We will return shortly.
Bismark's head shot up and his ears went flat as the Earth stallion approached, but a swift mental exchange and the changed stallion let his ears raise again, following as the Kaigaihen moved a short distance away. He glance at the mare, wondering if she would follow.

Ears still flattened, the mare storms after Bismark in a fury and turns savagely on the Kaigaihen.
I've just about had enough of you two, she begins, her mental voice low and barely controlled. You would trust him? You don't even know for sure that you can trust us, and he was most certainly still there when Bismark and I left. A little longer inside ourselves and I wouldn't even trust us.
She gives Broken a scathing glance and takes a few aggressive steps towards Solearth so that she's staring right up at him in all her determined belligerence.
Am I getting through to you? she goads. Whoever destroyed my I'er wasn't doing it for fun. There was a purpose to changing us like this, and it's time you realized that.

You think we do not realize this? Solearth replied flatly. Do you believe us fools? Our sole purpose of /being/ is to help the Naa. We have already failed you once. We cannot take the chance of doing so again.
He is. . . Bismark's voice was hesitant and soft. He is one of our own. He couldn't bear to look at the little mare just then, eyes glued to the ground at his feet. . . .We used to play together. He knew she didn't remember and, evidently, neither did 24601. Orange eyes closed in distress. He couldn't bear to think of it anymore.
Solearth's own frustration seemed to melt away with Bismark's words and he sighed quietly. How could they have failed so completely? Lost an entire I'er. . . only to regain them changed and mutated. Centriel-shin would not be pleased.
The silvery blue stallion simply stared towards the group though he could not hear wot they said. He seemed to not take notice of anyone but the other mutated Naa.
Broken stared hard at the mare, blue eyes like flint. Whether or not you trust him, he /needs/ you. Her gaze shifted to the strange Naa and something like regret and sorrow flitted across her aura and through her eyes. If only she'd been faster, better at her search. . . maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Harily took a step away from the silver-blue stallion when he emerged from the bush. Not out of fear. . .well, a little out of fear, but mostly out of awe. How could anyone do such things to another living creature? It was just unbelievable. He realized that he has lived a very sheltered life back in the Realm with Nyx.
Bismark, Nameless ((don't know what else to call her)), you both know him, and yet you just walk away? He is from your I'er, that is apparent. I would think that you would want to help him and the others. Maybe he was fortunate enough to escape like you two did. Maybe there are others about that are the same. I think it is our duty to help them.

Syneh listened to the story without interrupting, letting the others forget her. She edged toward the strange naa, head down and eyes averted. You're name's 24601? she asked the naa, shielding from the others. She didn't think he would actually respond.

(( poor koala. ;.; ))
There was a long moment of silence then the stallion, without looking at her, without giving any outwardly indication he noticed her, spoke on the same tight level, You disapprove of my name? His mental voice was flat and distant as though he really wasn't talking to her, though the words fit. It almost seemed as though he was trying to talk to someone beyond her.
Bismark flicked an ear at Harily, but he could do little but wait for the mare's judgement on the matter.

Not at all, Syneh answered, speaking as before. Her mind-tone was a bit softer, though. It's a lovely name. She kept moving closer, prepared to back off if the stallion gave any indication he was uncomfortable.

No. 24601 answered in the same flat tone. It's no name at all. It is all that I remember. He seemed on the verge of saying more, but. . . didn't. He stood utterly still, reflecting the blue sky in that same strange manner, almost as though the sky was determined to absorb him, hide him from view even there before their eyes. He had the stillness of a bird hiding from a predator or, perhaps, the predator watching for the prey.

Syneh tilted her head, studying the naa. You're a strange one, she said. Will you come with us?

There was a long pause between them as the stallion still did not look at her. Where?

Not really sure, Syneh answered. To rescue the rest of your I'er, I think. Would you be willing to come with us?

A large, silvery-blue fox ear flicked briefly towards her, the movement so swift it almost seemed to have not occurred at all. He considered this for a short time, before answering simply, Yes.

Good, Syneh said. She felt like she had accomplished something the others couldn't. It made her feel special. She moved to stand next to the strange naa, watching the others.
