Hawkeye walked from the lab, eyeing the others waringly. He walked towards Harily How did you me anyway? the strange hawk Naa asked.
I sensed you is all Harily said, looking him dead in the eye. I will not fear you, and I will not run he finally stated
The two stood facing off for a long moment before Hawkeye turned away. What exactly arre we supposed to be doing now? he asked, not really sure if he would enjoy the company of this group.
((Bugs Sera for female for Hawkeye! I would put him with Thundering Rain, but she is a bit to fragile for that! Thanks again for my lovely))

24601 watched the new mutant warily, covering the others with his ears. He subconsciously edged closer to Syneh, not realizing at first that he took comfort in her presence. We should be moving on, he muttered mostly to himself.
Syneh turned her head to look at 24601. She thought he might've been talking to her, but he seemed to be staring off into space. She nuzzled his neck and moved protectively to his side. What now? she asked the others. Press on? Regroup? Call it good?

The red mare paused for a moment and pawed testily at the word "good." I for one am not comfortable with others like these - she deliberately excluded herself and Bismark, for all that they shared the same origin as Hawkeye and 24601 - floating about like a vague, indefinite threat when I close my eyes.
She flared her nostrils in indignation at the thought as she doggedly continued on after Solearth.
Now that I've come back, they can follow me when I leave. They're expecting it now, and if they can see me, I'd rather have them where I can see them, she sent over her shoulder as she headed through the door.
Her eyes were cold as she silently resolved to get beyond the strangely warped naa that were now cropping up at odd intervals like toadstools after the rain. Those sad creatures were only the pawns. The players running the game deserved the worst she could give them.

24601 showed no indication that he had heard the nameless mare other than leaning into Syneh slightly. Syneh pinned her ears at the other mare, not caring if she noticed or not. She craned her neck slightly to nuzzle 24601's shoulder.

(( they're all outside of the lab, dawby; solearth sent all save himself and hawkeye out before and now they have re-joined the others. hehe *ish vaguely confused* ))
Solearth flicked an earth towards the nameless mare a bit confused. I think we can all easily attest that there are no others here for the moment. His tone was exceedingly accepting, but inwardly he was worried and fighting anxiety. Whoever had done these experiments had easily packed up and left. . . with how many Naa still in tow? And wot of the fact that this lab was hardly large enough for the I'er? Had the Naa been split into diff't groups, taken to diff't areas? Unless they had simply slaughtered the rest of the I'er, but Solearth found that doubtful. He gave an inward sigh; other than bringing the other Kaigaihen here and seeing wot they could, this site was of little use to them now. His pairing was for searching. He glanced at Broken and received swift affirmation to his assessment. They could try to see wot they might see, but, really, having found the site deserted, their specialty would not hold here.
The Kaigaihen stallion suddenly realigned his wandering throughts, back towards that strange little mare. Now that you've come back, who exactly will be following you and where? Harily has confirmed those that were here, all gone now save for us, and a swift walkthrough will likely do nothing more than drive the point home. Not that they -wouldn't- be doing a walk through just to be safe. He doubted it would be necessary though, some of the Kaigaihen and la'Xoliten's I'er lead shared the ability and it had yet to be proven less than accurate.
Bismark's ears went back at Solearth, You shall do nothing about this place? Incredulity, anger, and frustration all warred for dominance in his mental tone.
-We- can do little, Solearth admitted without shame, regarding the larger stallion easily. But we shall tell those who can do more with the information and lab.

(((*backpedals* umm, yes. well, I totally missed that, didn't I. Which clarifies another point which I misunderstood, which... oh, nevermind. This RPing is complicated stuff.)))
The mare blew through her nostrils in frustration as she looked around at the little group. The last time I left, it was unexpected. They couldn't have found me because they didn't see me leave. But now they know where I am and they will be able to know where I'm going. Hawkeye wasn't alone before, remember? Who knows how many more are lurking just out of Harily's range? Two, three, ten, a whole army? And whoever's running the show here would be foolish not to be watching this place, watching us.
She sends them all an accusing look, one at a time, settling on Bismark last for a long moment.
If we're now going to someone else for help about the missing naa, we don't know we aren't leading some great evil right to them.

They may know you are here right now, Solearth answered quietly. But that does not mean they will be able to follow you when you leave. We're not as weak as you seem to think. There was a sense of vague amusement at the thought. And those we send hardly need our protection. His thoughts moved briefly to the current lead stallion of the Kaigaihen and the faintest hint of a shudder trembles his frame. The power-washed stallion rarely seemed to need anyone's help, muchless protection. He tilted his head at the mare. You seem to be under the impression that we are just gentle Naa, his tone was soft, still open for the entirety of the group. A hardness briefly entered his eyes, a testament to wot he'd seen and wot he'd done. We are the Kaigaihen and we are hardly soft.
Broken watched her partner for a long moment, then turned to look away, blue eyes dark with the rememberance of her quest, the reason for her scar. Yes, the Kaigaihen had to move beyond the normal Naa, further even then these strange mutated Naa here. These Naa had no choice and were left marked from their enounters. The Kaigaihen were also marked with their choice, but theirs was beyond the terrible changes to the mutated Naa; theirs had been a choice of survival.
Bismark's ears were flattened again, torn between a desire to believe in the Kaigaihen as those long-squashed instincts, vague half-memories bid him to, and the emotional scarring he had received at the hands of the scientists.
The Kaigaihen mare finally spoke, voice a mixture of hardness and gentleness, I don't know how you're expecting them to watch you, but if no one's here and, while power still runs through these buildings, the security system and subsequent cameras have long since been down, it seems unlikely they still have something just waiting for -your- return. She didn't sound willing to explain how she knew that and Solearth didn't seem in the least surprised by it.

She could leave at anytime, and yet she could not. It was a helpless feeling, this sense that she had no choice in her actions, and she loathed it nearly as much as she hated the thought of being helpless to the scientists. She wanted to cry and stamp her feet like a foal, make everyone pay attention to her and understand that she was right and the rest of the world was wrong.
The little mare said nothing instead, backing down to the authority of the Kaigaihen, but her eyes burned her resentment into the dirt at her feet.
What am I doing here, she thought angrily. Nothing had been accomplished, the way she saw it. If there was another Kaigaihen stronger than these two, why had he not gone to the research facility himself? Why had he not stopped the horrifying experiments from happening altogether? She felt useless, didn't like it, and blamed everyone for making her feel she should be here in the first place. She felt all alone in a crowd.

Harily watched the exchange between the nameless one and the Kaigaihen. If they all couldn't get along the 'mission' was doomed. He turned his attention to Hawkeye. He wasn't afraid of the mutated stallion for some reason, but he was weary.
We shouldn't have to worry about running into anyone else. I should be able to sense them before we get close enough. . .unless they have someone with the same ability as myself. he sent, still a bit unsure about said ability. What if it failed him? He would be of no use to nayone then.

24601 flared his nostrils. We're a fine group of stationary targets, he pointed out absently. There was no mocking or sarcasm in his voice; it was detatched, as if he was planning a strategy from a safer distance. Perhaps even from the point of view of their enemies.
Syneh shuddered. She wanted to protect 24601, but he still frightened her a little. Leave or stay, she told the Nameless mare. You'll be about as helpful either way. I don't think the Kaigaihen have any intention of backing off, danger or no. The silvery-blue stallion stared unblinkingly at her. She backed down, remembering that they had once been in an I'er together- a happy little naa-family. Perhaps 24601 remembered, or thought he did. Maybe he was being protective of the other mutant in his own way. More likely, he was daydreaming about mice playing in his mane for all she knew. Sorry, she mumbled to no one in particular.

24601 has the right of it, Solearth responded easily, seemingly immune to the wax and flow of the group's mood. We have one escapee and need to bring this lab to the attention of some of the other Kaigaihen. He wasn't worried about contacting the lead stallion, moreso as to whether he had time to come here. For now it would likely be best for us to move on. Well, for most of the group to move on. Broken-shin would want to scout the remains once more before they actually moved on. We'll circle the grounds. Bismark, please accompany Broken-shin to wherever she chooses to go. The large stallion's head jerked up in surprise, orange eyes narrowed suspiciously, but he sent his assent. That will be fine. 24601, would you please begin our tour?
Broken was almost as surprised s Bismark, but she hid it away instinctively. Normally she would prefer to have Solearth and his almost uncanny senses with her, but Bismark was 'local colour', as it were, and he might prove even more useful for all that his memory was a bit out of touch. She waited for the other group to leave, then headed back into the lab. Bismark's ears flattened briefly, then he followed uneasily. And now he was baby-sitting. Great.

The unnamed mare craned her neck back behind her as she slowly treaded after the Solearth and the others. She had no fight left in her right now. She was tired of fighting, tired of trying to think for herself. It was easier to just follow the others.
And now he was leaving her.
She focused her eyes on Solearth. I won't look back again.

24601's eyes widened slightly and his ears flicked back in surprise as though someone had struck him. ...If I must.. he answered uncertainly. They would be following him. Would they all stay behind him? He wasn't comfortable with that. He glanced at Syneh, the whites of his eyes showing.
Syneh stepped forward so her shoulders were even with 24601's. I'll lead with you, she told him alone. He made no indication he'd heard.
