“What was it?” Pallo asked eyes darting about hopping to spot this ‘missing thing.’
Behind him Joth’s face went pale. Oh great! Their gonna think I took it! Even if I’d didn’t! He thought taking a few steps backwards and tried to look nonchalant while nervously chewing on his nails.

"Oh! hah! Here it is." Nado said, smiling sheepishly as he picked up a small red stone in the shape of an egg from the bed. "Gran-gran gave this to me" he chuckled, turning the gem in his hand.
"See, I told you." Annyo said.

“Criggets!” Pallo looked at the gem in wonderment. He was about to ask when his long ears picked up what sounded like a sigh of relief. Turning around the faun was surprised to see a strangely pale faced Joth who was bitting his nails. The faun raised an eyebrow. Didn’t his nana ever tell him that was a bad habit?
Joth noticing that he was ‘noticed’ jerked his hand away and gave Pallo a rather awkward grin. Okay so it turned out to be a close call. He thought. But now everybody’s looking at me as if rats were popping out of my ears. “You alright Joth?” The faun asked.

"Yeah...Your looking a little pale in the face.." Annyo commented, standing next to Pallo. She gently reached out and tapped the human boy's nose. "Why you so jittery anyways?" she added.

"Jittery? Me?" The thief gave the two a fake innocent look. “What gave you that impression?”
"You acted like you were guilty of something." Pallo jested not realizing that his joke was not that far from the actual truth.

Lee-Ann glanced back. "Now now guys. Be nice to Joth." she joked. "We dont wanna scare him away you know." she added. Nado mumbled at turned his back to the group. "You grump." Annyo giggled.

"Pfft! Nothing scares me!" Joth rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. A lie of course, much like Pallo Balleny, Joth too had his own long list of phobias; Thief Catchers, snakes, rival thieves, large dogs, and of course getting caught. He had gotten a few 'lesson' marks on his back for that.
"Well, I guess I should be going...Gotta rest up for the morrows journey."

"Allright. Sleep well." Lee said. As she hunkered down onto the bed, she let out a yawn and streatched her arms wide. "I think I'm going to get some sleep too.." the elf said.

Pallo too made his way to his own small bed but as he laid down a sudden worrying question came to his mind.
"Annyo." He said voicing out his thought. "If the horrids run rapid at this place; what if there are horrids at Willow's Way?"

Annyo stopped dead in her tracks and turned around to face Pallo with a smile. "There wont be. I promise." she said, slowly turning back. The little she-faun didn't even know what it would be like on the way to Willow's Way, let alone if Horrids had overrun it in search of the small group. Either way, she would worry about it when they got there.
Nado sat next to Lee-Ann and rubbed her back, watching the others. He was worried about his long old friend, but didnt bother himself with it too much.

By Tulan's grace I hope you're right." Sighed Pallo laying his head on his pillow. Not that he doubted Annyo's words but horrid had attacked Willow's Way many years ago and though they were eventually wiped out, a lot of good fauns and good centaurs died.
Including someone he dearly loved.
Try not to worry about... He told himself as he closed his eyes and slowly fell into a uneasy sleep.

As the morning came round, Healer was allready out in the small town, purchasing odds and ends.
Annyo sat up and yawned. The she-faun then blinked and looked around, realising how suddenly sunny it was. "Weird..." she mumbled to herself. She lifted herself to her feet and wandered to a door. She peeked in and gasped, spotting a large horrid head on the wall. "Eesh....She sure is strange...." she mumbled, exiting the room.

The Healer and Annyo weren't the only one up. Ill luck had hit the Mouse when someone, presumably the owner of the stable made an unexpected early morning visit. Not surprisingly the man didn't take a liking to a mangy kid lodging in his stable. He chased Joth out with a few foul words and a angry fist, making the usual threats that were nothing new to the Mouse's ears.
No matter he was leaving with the adventurous four-o and no longer needed to stay there.
Still it wouldn't been so humiliating if I hadn't of stepped in horse poodoo... Thought Joth as he made his way back to the Healer's tent while trying to scrape off the offending 'goo' off the bottom of his boot.

Annyo yawned again and sat back down on the bed. "I wonder if Pallos up yet...." she thought out loud. She wandered towards where Pallo was sleeping and watched him for a moment, before pouncing onto the small faun's bed. "Gooooood morning, sleepy head!" she grinned.
