It has been a long time since I signed into my Geocities account, but lately I've been trying to get my adopted section of pegaruny.com all in order--- so I logged into my geocities account and recieved this message that said something to the effect of: We are upgrading all Geocities members to the Yahoo! Webhosting starter kit-- with free set-up! And something gave me the impression that they were going to make it go *poof!* forever. I freaked out for a minute, but now I think I was maybe overreacting. XD I think I may move all my stuff to the .com just in case. I've been meaning to. :/

I don't know when you last signed in, but a few years ago they did switch to a paid plan. Unpaid plans still exist though I think you get less space and you can't use an FTP client to get into them. I haven't actually tried my accounts lately, don't really have much on them but there is still some stuff there....

*laughs* I did the exact same thing not too long ago. ^^ When I read further into it though, it sounded more like it was just a note for people who were paying for an account already. It's probably still a good idea to move everything over if you have the time; I'm definitely going to cross my fingers that they keep the free pages as they are for a while yet though.

Oooh... okay. It really scared me for a minute. I'm glad you guys don't seem to think it's really anything to worry about.
