Adoption Game

So this is my first time back in a while. *cough*

But I was thinking of doing a game with a breeding pool. That is, multiple species of my critters, with the assumption that every race can interbreed.

Every baby would be a unique hybrid of the parents. Would anyone be interested in that kind of cyber-pet game?

I don't have any of my critters ready yet, but I can post examples of what sort of things I draw if you want to see them.

I'm only a recent joiner, but I stalked the forum in earlier years. And I love the good adoptable 'oldies' xD;

As you can see, I joined six years ago (oof!).

Back then this place was a hot spot. But we all went from high school to college and from college to the real world, I guess.

And there wasn't enough pimping done to keep things up in the meantime.

So now it's just us.

The adoptable scene has changed a lot in some ways, but I still like the nostalgic feel of these forum gems :'D

I think there's maybe 3-5 people that check on here xD;

We should start pimping, get some life back on these boards!

I'll start running some -very- long term Faudeer contests just for this board to give people a chance ^^;;

I know Silv's pretty busy with other sites, but being honest, there's nothing wrong with the fourm, it's just getting the ball rolling somehow C:

Maybe I should start a thread explaining that this place is a bit dead, and anyone unable to post can reach Silvanon on these sites ' x ' etc.

But I'd feel weird doing that without Silv's permission ;o;
In case she feels a bit spammed....If there are that many that would want to post.

I would love to get back into the adoptable excitement. I miss the old days where you could barely keep up with everything that was going on. I especially loved the market forums mainly shivuez which is long gone. It was fun.
So it would be awesome to start getting somethings up and running again.

I wont be able to do any adoptables unless I had a real easy clean line art that I could just fill in and stuff since i dont have a scanner or anything anymore.
But I still want to adopt at least if I cant get some line art ^_^

I felt really bad about abandoning all of you guys (since I owed people about a billion sevets) but I couldn't keep up with the demand and my life at the same time. *shrug*

When a lot of the big adopters like Silv, Arborwin, Lexington, Jaysen, and others got involved in other things and drifted away the forum started to fall apart. Some stopped adopting all together, others made their own forums which splintered the scene that used to be focused just on the Orchard. The markets were fun but I think that started the process of moving people away from forums like this to the new kind of pet site like Wajas, Khimeros and Felisfire. Now those other pet sites are a lot of fun too, but it just isn't the same. Commissions also became a big thing and cut into free adoptions.

And of course, sometimes it's just real life that swallows people up. They get married, have kids, get jobs and suddenly there's no free time left for stuff like this I must admit I don't have much time for posting critters I receive let alone adopting any out. People used to make really elaborate pages and RP their crits, if you look around now you see a lot of nicely designed but mostly empty pages with a crit and some stats. Ah well ^_^
