I don't think I've ever seen you at the Orchard, but I knew your name was familiar. I've been admiring your artwork on DA for a while. <3 *jealousy* You've got an amazing talent with both equines and digital media.
So, ah, welcome back!

*watches* Whew. Ah... Sorry if I was annoying in asking this question. It's good to know that people are just taking a break. I was starting to wonder if there was something wrong that I just didn't notice. *feels better*
Heh, I completely understand taking a break from adoption. I'm sorta in that category, too. I also feel insanely guilty for not getting some of my creatures up on decent pages. ;_; *checks list* Yeah, that list won't go away. *needs more free time*
Yay for the paper texture, too. That's been bugging me for the longest time, because I personally don't like the white dots. My scanner seems to find them and exploit them, thus making the digital images far less quality than what I see on paper. *twitch*
*blush* Thanks for the compliments <3 *luff*
Kanai - Thanks for the suggestions! I probably should start adding some new genetic material, but I've sorta run out of ideas. (Partially why I posted this, in hopes of getting some suggestions.) I know right now that one of the Fei'daqq for this next draw will have a new genetic trait, but that's just one. I need to draw more.

*is sporked* ; It's just that I've noticed this consistently for the past year or so. Which just makes me wonder. *luffs Lex*I like your crystals just as they are. They have enough character to make up for the simplicity. <3 *forgot to ask* Also, since this Summer I plan to have a tad more free time than this very moment. *eyes Archeology, Geology, and Math homework due in the next two days* Eh. Would anyone be interested in commissions? ;_;

Lex inspired me. *luff*
I've noticed that for these past few draws, some people don't sign up. Now, I know not everyone will, each have their reasons, whatnot. I just realized, though, that I don't know why these people aren't adopting. I'd like to know, in hopes of improving. <3
Also, even if you do adopt, I'd like to know if there's anything you'd like to see in the Fei'daqq. As in, are there any anatomy errors I continually screw up on? Are they all too similar? The paper grain too annoying? Outlining too irritating? Need new genetic material (Tail types, mane types, body types, etc)? Anything else?

*mesmerized by the third version* ; Looks good with the leg. It's a lot smoother, but it still looks a little 'jumpy' to me. There's something off with the head-nod, but I can't put my finger on it. I think it's that little bit of mane and how it seems very stiff.

I agree. I'm not adopting right now, but I'm curious as to what you're starting here. It's really hard to be interested in something when we have no idea what it is. All I know it comes in an egg, but otherwise...
Plant, animal, or mineral?
Bigger than a breadbox?

Great! Yeah, IE scares me. I switched about a year ago when I started hearing all the bad things that could break through IE's weak barriers. Sure, Firefox takes a little longer to load, but... Tabbed Browsing! XD
/geek.
Mine probably took less than 30 seconds, but I was multi-tasking both on and off the computer, so I didn't pay too much attention. Either way, it's a really small file. ^_^

I'm behind in the times, or something, because I just discovered Adblock for Firefox. It's so nice. By selecting specific servers to block scripts/adds from, it blocks adds from everywhere. Adds on the Orchard - gone. Ezboard - gone. Pop-ups - gone. DeviantArt adds - gone. Geocities sidebars? - Gone. Yay! So, if you want Adblock, it's fairly easy to download and install. Took me about 30 seconds, but I have a fast connection. Then you can add various servers and wildcards to block. <3 Or, if you don't use Firefox ... *cough* I'm sorry. ;_;

Since I really should be doing an essay, and my muse chews on me when I should be doing something else... *coughs...*
It's leaning really, really far left, and it's rather off-balance due to that. If you want a dynamic pose, I wouldn't say you've achieved it. Certainly forward facing poses are harder to pull off, but they're not dynamic if the creature is just standing there, like this dragon. Try having motion of some sort - running toward you, leaping, something non-symmetrical.
The anatomy needs some work. Since dragons are rather hard to come by and study off of, try looking at the chests of dogs, cats, horses (if you're doing a mammalian-like dragon) or reptiles/birds (for reptilian dragons.) Your dragon seems to be lacking a chest. The little ^ marks above each leg confuse me, and I'm not quite sure what they are.
The neck, mostly where it connect to the sky, has a strange notch. The spine generally curves gradually off the back of the skull. The head itself, since characteristics of dragons depend solely on the creature, might benefit from the use of a 'circle' method of sketching. The circle generally connects to the base of the spine at the top, and marks off the jaw line at the bottom. The eye sits on the front/top edge.
The front legs confuse me slightly. I don't know if there's a spike at the top of the joint, of if there is just an extra line there. If there was a spine at what would be considered the elbow in most animals probably wouldn't be seen in this view. The back legs and hips look a tad bit wide-set, especially with angle of view. (Foreshortening and a vanishing point would make things farther away from the view smaller and closer together)
I'm terrible at paws, so I can't say much for that. What might help is a mark where the foot joints the leg (the wrist). I can almost see it in the fore-right leg, but it's not very defined. Again, looking at some photo references would help.
...fwweee *runs back to essay-ing*

Currently attending University of California, Davis and just switched my major to Math. I want to add something to it, but I can't make up my mind. There are too many subjects to choose from.

We used to have a mouse problem in our attic, and one of our cats let loose a live mouse in my mother's closet once... Heh. This worked both times without killing the critters.
Hardware stores sell live traps. Mice /love/ peanut butter, so I hope hamsters would too. Buy a couple of those traps, put them in dark corners of the house, and wait. They're fairly cheap, I believe. It won't kill it, they'll just be trapped in this long box until someone finds them. Also, be sure to check the traps every morning.
