I got this random idea and thought I'd see if anyone would be interested. I can't draw to save my life, but I'm quite into writing and I would like to get some more practice - would anyone be interested in doing a trade for a poem?
It would work like this - you give me the mood you would like and then a theme, or if it is more specific, exactly what you want to to say. (Could be an introduction to an agency, or describing something, or a piece of 'historical' information or whatever - I'll try my best.)
I would write a first draft and then we could discuss it, and either I'll finish it up or make a new draft. (Of course I can write prose too, but I don't feel like anyone here would need that :0)
If you like the poem and want to use it, I may then request either a critter or some other drawing from you, we can decide which in beforehand. If you don't want to use the poem you don't have to do anything. Sounds interesting? Reply below or PM me.

You have a very "elven" style, imho and I love the colouring and the spiked wings, and the hooves -and the little tuft on his tail. Amazing! Custom Description: Fourlegged and hooves, with a long neck. Small spotted markings down the neck. Large, spiked wings and really long, tufted tail. Tufted ears, too (like a lynx and maybe like a forelock. Colouring, I had a hard time deciding, so I thought I'd leave some suggestions. * Icy blue and white with translucent wings. *Silver * Bronze and green edit: Oh, I don't know if you do jewelry and that kind of things, but I'd love something like that if you'd like to add it :0)

The elven mage drew himself up in front of her gaze. "Elbereth!" He whispered to himself, but tried to keep his outer composure, he had never dreamed that she would be able to speak. Maybe this wasn't such a great idea afterall... But realizing his chance was almost gone, he quickly called out to her. "No, wait! I might help you. Yes! Why should someone as magnificant as yourself waste your strength on such a petty challanger? I might help you get rid of this insignificant problem... and maybe afterwards, you'll consider paying your attention to a proposal that might prove very beneficial to both of us....?" Afraid that he had chosen too big words, he added as explanation and encouragment. "It is a suggestion that might be very good for both you and me."
With a swift movement, he released the wall obstructing her path. If the female would choose to listen, magic could not come in way of the trust he wanted to grow between them. If not, he could chase her again...

The mage stumbled and fell to his knees. Breathing heavily, he forced himself upright, leaning on his staff. The pain in his head ebbed away, leaving only the usual ache in his shoulders. Someone had managed to break through his spell. He stood still, listening for a moment. he could hear the lizard in front of him still, but behind him all was silent. Silent as the fall of the hunter's paws... He thought about placing another, stronger, obstacle, and realized he couldn't risk it. Unconsciously, the mage shifted his grip on the staff, his strength was taxed already. he might need some reserves.
He wondered exactly how bright this tyviron actually was. The knowledge he had was second hand and even third hand facts. Anyway, he decided to go for the shortcut. He had a feeling he was running out of time. With another incantation, he raised another wall of light, blocking the tyviron's path in front of her.

Hidden by the undergrowth, Iladri had but a moment to consider. He tried to judge the creature's mind as he saw her rushing on the path, on her way past him. She was magnificant, too - much more amazing than he had imagined.
Calling magic to himself, the wizard wondered if she would be able to sense him.He led a gust of wind swirling around himself, and then towards some bushes along the path. With a big, mental heave he made the bushes part, showing the open path behind. The light in the air, residue from using the magic, made the path as obvious as if it had been a green neon sign pointing the way out.
Would she choose the escape route? Iladri fervently hoped so, as of now the only other thing he could think of was not a very appealing alternative.

The wizard tensed. As the second and third roar echoed through the forest he smiled quietly to himself. There should be no other animal in this forest except a Tyviron that could make that kind of sound, hopefully they would all stay together.
With a last glance behind him for the spark of colour he started hobbling on through the forest, following the sound and hoping he would get there before the combattants had time to leave.

Some time passed. The shadow of a flying bird crossed the clearing. The sun moved an inch in the sky.
Then the wizard raised his hands from his lap, slowly as if he was lifting a heavy weight. Putting his palms together in front of his face, and then quickly pulling them apart he opened his eyes. With a lopsided smile he studied the glowing sphere of light floating in the air in front of him. "Hantalë Mirë." He told it gently. "Lesta!" The ball bobbed a few times in the air and then vanished.
"Now, " he stated to himself. "At least I know which way to go." He rose slowly, pain flying over his face. Leaning upon his staff, he started off into the forest. He halted mid-step, catching sight of something bright and colourful moving purposefully on the other side of the bushes. It was way too small to be whom he sought, but he thought he could feel a sentient mind brushing his. "Aiya." He called out, 'hello' to a fellow wanderer, or maybe one of the forest inhabitants.

A streak of white shines through the bright darkness of the forest floor. After a wary silence following the predator's roar, the calls of birds and monkeys high above seem very loud. He who is coming is leaning heavily upon his staff, but his white robes, trailing all the way to the ground, slide effortlessly past any thorn, any jutting branch that seems sure to catch them. In fact, it seems like he is walking in between every obstacle instead of having to face them.
Entering a tiny clearing he carefully folds his robes around him and sit down on the edge of one of the branches of the fallen giant that had once occupied this space. In the small spotlight of sun around him wines bloom in bright purple, small blue flowers strewn in amongst the green are constantly courted by butterflies.
Pushing back the hood of the cloak, he reveals his elven ears, long white hair falling past his shoulders and a face unmarked of years. With his face raised towards the sun, he breathes deeply, enjoying the fragances of the forest. Then, still with his eyes closed, his hands fly in flowing, complex movements in front of him. Breathing deeply, calmly, the wizard goes into meditaion. Bringing into himself the magic that will hopefully tell him the right way, or even better, bring the one he seeks to him.
