Crunch time XD
Burning the midnight oil here (pfft, so it's not midnight ... yet.) But I've got a final tomorrow for NativeAmerican studies, and I'm still not done with my paper (tsk, tsk, I should be writing)
Those horses are fab. Makes me wish I had the time to do something like that. The extra money sure would come in handy.

Yeah... it is nice. ^.^ and REALLY nice when they sell for big $$. ^.^ I have a lady in Spain who has me hopping on horse. (well she's working on some bodies to send me to paint.
It's a lot of fun... and a great stress reliever. ^.^ I highly recommend grabbing a horse and trying it. The little ones (stablemates) only cost like $2-$3...
::thinks:: Maybe I should get back to work. ^.^ Being a delinquent here...

Hum, that's not too much of an investment for the small ones. I'll have to try that someday. ^_^

Yeah... I'm getting more expensive and buying artist resins to paint... there's more of a risk on those... but the Breyer Stablemates are really cheep... I take them... sand the seems down, carve out the uplifted hooves, nostrils and ears. A lot of other people will drastically customize them... lowering heads, moving limbs... there are some amazing transformations out there. You should go to ebay... and look up Breyer under Collectables. See what's out there. you'd be amazed what some of these things sell for! And it's fun to boot. ^.^

Really? Huh, I hadn't thought of trying to customize the poses. Interesting. I'll definately have to go take a look. ^_^ My guy can't come to my work party tomorrow, either. Definately not as fun.

*cheers* soooooo glad not to have FINALS this year! I've been free for a year! *does the happy dance* Gotta love Breyers... so much potential in them. ^.^ I actually just got one back today... my Tricked Out Pony. It was an entry for a contest... he got 2nd place in the Adult Professional division! Check him out: www.modelhorsejamboree.com/trickpony.htmScroll all the way down to the Adult Professional division... he's 'Trojan'. ^.^ So happy to have both him and his ribbon back. ^.^ (yes... I bought him back. I had to!) *watches her hobbits run*

I've finally finished all my finals for the semester. Bah. I'd like to be free. But I can't. Yet anyway. Ever since I saw Breyer repainting and customizing a while back, my biggest project has been a replica of my horse. A friend gave me her model of Lonesome Glory, and I've been slowly sanding him down, and carving his hooves. Gotta get some more epoxy clay eventually, and find a match with mohair for his mane and tail. Someday it'll be done. Probably in 10 years or something, I'm so determined to get everything exactly right to match Flair, since the old boy's not going to be around forever (he's 28 now) and I want something special to remember him by.

Oh that would be cool!!! I haven't getting into resculpting yet... but I want to. You should so work on finishing him! And hey... any particular reason you're giving him mohair? I like how it looks... but it collects dust bad.

It goes slowly. It's a labor of love, really. I want everything to be exact. I'm using mohair because I want a real mane and tail, and haven't really found any other kind of synthetic fiber that'll do, and I certainly don't want to use real horse hair
