Mohair is the closest thing you can get to scale I think.... I'd have to check to see if there is anything else to use.. And there is a way to make it stay down... in a position that you want... almost sculpting the hair into place... I think, think mind you, that you can use hair gel to get it to stay in position. One of my model horse friends has several horses like taht... I should ask her if she does it. The only horse I have with mohair is my old CM of T'shallo. Man I still want to do all of my Pahs.... Now that I have sculpting epoxy... I could make more secure antlers/horns. Poor T'shallo's suffered in the last move... the tip broke off.

*waves to Rhiannon* Heya!
Isn't Debra's stuff GORGEOUS??? Gah I wish I could paint like her. ^.^ I might actually be getting a 'slot' for one of her paint jobs. Since she's moving, she needs $$. I asked her the other day... and she said she probably could. ::grins:: I can't wait!
Gotta start saving now. ^.^

I *love* her stuff..especially her sunburned blacks I was lucky enough to get a Deputed Duke resin for Christmas, and I'm tempted to send it to her for painting in sunburned black...(or Jenn Danza or Kathleen Kirch)

Good luck with Jen Danza! She's due to have a baby early next year... and it's next to impossible to get a slot from here. I soooo want one from her too! She is a pastel goddess. ^.^ Yeah... I love sunburnt blacks too... but I love the Ravishing Ronald resin taht she did... MichelleFox owns him and named him 'Saxon'. LOVE that dun color she does! I have that resin... but I intend to paint him a nice dapple grey. Soon... I have the rider for him (I'm basing him off of my D&D character's horse.) and I almost have the tack. ^.^ I hope she replies soon! I would so LOVE to get a horse painted by her! She's such a nice lady. ^.^

she is a nice person to talk to I almost got an breyer andy done in s/b black, but didn't have enough money to pay in full at the time Speaking of breyers - have you seen the new ones out? I think my wishlist has just majorly expanded P.S. you should check out www.modelhorseblab.com for all your model horse chatting needs - i frequent there under my real name, and there's always lots going on - plus sometimes you get neat previews as well.

I wish she'd reply to me... my AOL and her earthlink do not jive very well. I get the feeling that I haven't seen many an email that she has sent me. ::smacks AOL:: I have an U/P Nevada that I just traded for yesterday (YAY! Been working on the lady to trade with me for months now. She wanted one of my CM resins for her daughter for Xmas... took her from Oct to yesterday to FINALLY pick her up! ) I might send her to Deb... cause she could do wonders on her... I'm thinking maybe that Dun color she did on Saxon. LOVE that horse! ^.^ Either that or my Moody Off Broadway. He'd look awesome in S/B Black... You know... I've heard of Model Horse Blab... so far I haven't gotten into it. ^.^ Maybe I should... Yes I've seen the new Breyers... I love the new scratching foal... and I might have to get the Silver Dapple Strapless (I love the new main and tail on her! and I LOVE Silver Dapples, now that I know what that color is. ^.^) I'll definately stock up on the Mini Whinnies (as long as they are made in Breyers plastic) they'll make GREAT Custom fodder. ^.^ Other than that... I have seriously cut back on Breyers. I don't like that they are now all made in China. I'll buy a few here and there... mostly new molds (gah I want Smarty!!) I hardly buy Stones too... I'm more into the Artist resins now... so much diversity... OFs are hard to do much with too... It's really hard to get them to do well in Live Shows (Just started doing that... gah it's fun! ^.^) and I love seeing how well my paintjobs do against others. But I have Smarty, the scratching foal... and Snowdrift from Stone on my list. ^.^ We'll see what Xmas brings... and how much $$ I have at the new year. ^.^ I need to paint some to sell... I have two of the Stone Chips sitting here, begging to be painted... but I don't have time as yet. In fact... I SHOULD be painting! *runs off*
