Just speaking the truth, Bismark, and I think you know that. Harily said as he fell into line with the others. He couldn't figure those two out. They just didn't seem to care what had happened to 24601. Harily looked back and the stallion as he thought of him. What horrors must he have faced in that lab? How many others. . .yes, how many others. If it is OK to ask, how many others are there, round about.

Nameless tosses her head. How many originally from the I'er, or how many may be still alive in one form or the other? I don't think anyone can answer the latter question, if that's what you mean.

The wild I'eres, Solearth noted easily. Usually don't limit their numbers.
Bismark ignored Harily's comment, as he didn't care if it was truth or not, he just needed to protect the mare.
Wot else can you tell us about the lab? Broken asked 24601. She received no response.

I was just looking for a rough number of possible Naa still there. Do you know about how many were taken? Harily asked, still following the rest of the group. Once in a while, he would turn to look at 24601 to make sure he was still with them

Syneh stayed where she could watch the sky-colored stallion. She wanted to adopt him and see that he had a somewhat normal life, but... he was so distant! That would be hard to get around. ...Do you remember you from before the experiments? she asked. Your friends?

The whole I'er, Bismark snapped at Harily, but perhaps his hostility was less about the questioning and more that he might not know or remember. ^^;;
The Kaigaihen cannot keep a close record of the number in each I'er, Solearth pointed out mildly as though Bismark had not spoken. But it is surmised the Scu'e Liyores I'er was several hundred at the time of its abduction.
24601 still didn't look at the cloaked mare, but his ear flicked towards her again. She seemed, for some reason, to pique his interest almost as much as his former I'er members. Silence, again met her query for a great length of time. I am 24601, he finally answered, but there was a hint of desperation or confusion or something in his quiet mental tone.

Syneh caught the stallion's tone and felt slightly ill. How could anyone do this to another creature? She moved closer and nuzzled his neck. You are, she agreed. What to do about this one?

The stallion froze, stiffening at the touch, eyes rolling slightly to stare at Syneh as panic washed over him. His breathing immediately shallowed and he looked about ready to flee or faint right there. Her reaction very well could determine if he ever let another Naa touch him ever again. oO;;;;;

Syneh ignored the stallion's panic and ran her face plate along his neck before stepping back to give him space. Easy, 24601, she said softly. You seemed sad...

The silvery-blue stallion continued to stare at Syneh for a long moment, then, hesitantly, started walking again, watching her the entire time it took him to pass and, even then, he kept one ear flicked towards her, as though afraid she'd do that again. Or perhaps afraid she wouldn't. He didn't answer her observation, uncertain of wot to say.

Syneh caught up with the stallion and walked along side him at a comfortable distance. She didn't know if that was progress or backsliding. Well, trial and error, then.

Harily brushed Bismarks rudeness off. He could actually understand the bitterness the other stallion felt. He couldn't imagine what they had been through. Does anyone know how far we will be going? he asked

24601's ear remained planted facing her, but he didn't look at her again. His movements seemed a bit jerky at first but, after awhile, his stride fell back into its usual smooth gracefullness.
It is but a ways, Bismark noted quietly, seeming to have forgotten his earlier terseness at the other stallion. We came through a forest. Wot appeared to almost be a wall of trees stood just a few miles before them.

Do you think we should stop for a moment and get some sort of plan together? Harily asked no one on particular. It might be a good idea, since most of us don't know what we are up against.

I think all of us don't know what we're up against, Syneh corrected, glancing at the mutants. Unless the three of you already know what to expect, I'd say coming up with a plan is a very good idea.
