Bismark's ears went flat at the thought of wot they were going back to, but he wouldn't back down. Not now. There were many of them at first, but when we left, there were the scientists and a few guards to protect them. It is a series of buildings, the largest one is the lab, the others are. . . cages. A shudder twitched through his frame.

We are currently on recon only, Solearth warned the others. We must learn wot we can, but I will not endanger you for this.

Syneh nodded.
Will you be alright? she asked the silvery-blue naa. I don't think anyone would mind if you waited instead of going in with us.

The red mare trembles slightly. Thanks, she says softly, forgetting herself for a moment.

She has fallen back to several lengths behind the others, her reluctance to continue onward evident as they come ever nearer to their destination.

Am I really so cold and apathetic as they think I am? she sends wistfully to Bismark. I do care, you know, even if I can't remember anyone very well.

She doesn't seem to expect an answer.

24601 almost emanates surprise at Syneh's question, and his head almost turns to look at her before he stiffens and stares straight ahead again. It's been so long since anyone has been kind to him. . . Yet again, he doesn't answer.

Bismark doesn't know how to answer the mare, simply sending her his support again. His stride hesitates and he turns his head to look at her. You are who you are, he finally answers her tightly, mental voice for her alone. We will do wot we must and escape again.

Hearing the stallions words, Harily turns towards him. You think we may get captured and need to escape? he asks. Fear began to well up in his chest, but he would not let that deture him, he was determined to help the other trapped in that Hellhole.

Syneh sighed and took a chance at nuzzling 24601's cheek.
We won't let them take you again, she promised. Just find a place to hide when we get there and we'll come back for you when we're done. She moved on after the Kaigaihen, leaving the stallion to react as he would.

Nameless send a brief flash of warm appreciation towards Harily.

Turning her thoughts back to Bismark only, she sends wryly, Which is a nice way of saying I may be just as cold and uncaring as I appear.

Bismark's ears flick back helplessly. That wasn't wot he meant, though it really was wot it sounded like. . . . <<;;; The mutated stallion glanced at Harily, sending the idea of a lofted brow. They are technologically advanced, he pointed out, flaring the tiny wings on his back. They may already know we're coming.

If they're even still there, Solearth pointed out calmly. From wot our friend has said, I fear we'll find only desertion.

24601 stared after Syneh, then, after a pause, he moved after the mare.

A scythe-like blade was appended to his tail and a long, slightly curved horn attached to ihs face plate. He has six sets of wings, the largest are flight capable. He has a strange reflective colouring to give him a sort of camouflage whilst in flight.

Well, then, since they may already know that we are here, wha tis the plan. I know we are on recon here, but what if we run into something we didn't expect? Harily asked, getting a strange feeling. He stopped for a moment and shook his head, before continueing on.

Solearth tilted his head, glancing at Nameless. That's a good point, he said seriously. If they understand our nature at all, they'll know that some of us would have to try to find the others. He hesitated glancing at the three strange Naa. It was still possible that those three were the trap. He took a deep breath, concentrating as he blew the air out, towards the three, though they likely wouldn't know wot he was doing. No. .. these three, at least, were alright. Just desperately hurting.

Harily walked with the rest of the Naa. He just could shake the strange feeling in his head. When we get there, I say we should look for an possible way out of that place. That is the first thing we should do, yes?

Syneh watched 24601 from the corner of her eye. She was pleased that he seemed less uncomfortable around her, though he still needed some work.

24601 turned his full attention to the Kaigaihen, keeping an ear turned toward Syneh. He stared intently at the stallion as though waiting for him to pass judgement.
I'll go in, he told Syneh, still watching Solearth.

Are we just going to stand around and argue about it all day? Broken finally snaps. Because someone's going to die of old age by the time we decide wot we're doing!

Broken-shin. Solearth's disapproval came through loud and clear.

The mare made a decidedly annoyed noise. No, Solearth-shin, I think we've played the softy game too long. This isn't just some recon trip to see wot's going on. We're scouting ahead and that can be dangerous. We don't know wot we're going to find, we don't know wot we're going to see. If those three are any indication, it's not going to be pretty and we all have to be mentally prepared for that.

This was, perhaps, the longest speech, sans story-telling, Solearth had ever heard from the mare. He watched her for a long minute as she stared glumly back. The Earth stallion paused for just a moment before saying, I bow to your expertise on the matter, Broken-shin.

The mare blinked, surprised, eyeing Solearth a bit suspiciously before nodding with a snort. So be it. Rarely had any of her scouting parties been this big, but, you did wot you must. Harily, you're paired with the dynamic duo, she gestured towards the nameless mare and Bismark. The stallion laid back his ears at her, but the Kaigaihen ignored him. Syneh, you're with Solearth-shin, 24601, you're with me. These are your buddies. Don't lose them. She sent tightly to Harily, And if you have any problems, don't hesitate to break out. We'll find you and keep you safe.

She moved in front of her 'troops', scar showing vividly beneath her eye. This is not a game. This is dangerous and, from wot the others have said, someone can get hurt. Make sure that someone isn't you. This, She pawed the ground with a strange symbol, closing her eyes then leaned down and breathed on it. The earth glowed briefly then disappeared, leaving only the symbol. Is our meeting point. If you have problems come here. Solearth-shin and I will know and, if there's danger, we'll send you on your way. You are linked to this point for one hour. You will be able to find it, no matter where you are. She glanced over her shoulder at the woods. That said, you are /not/ to engage the enemy. If you see Naa, try to feel them out, but don't approach anything that looks dangerous. Is that understood? She didn't really give them a chance to answer. This isn't a sight-seeing tour, ladies, keep your heads up. We'll go in as this group and diverge once we get closer to the compound. I expect you to obey commands immediately, but I trust your heads to keep you out of trouble as you do so. If I or Solearth-shin tell you to disengage, you do so immediately. Immediately. The Kaigaihen stallion, for his part, was secretly amused at the commando leader living within ihs rather fiery partner. ^^;;;;;;; But he made certain to not let any of it leak out.
