Adrian smiled. "I take it you like shapeshifting," he said quietly, almost to himself. He folded his hands in front of him and walked straight as well, only peering down the left and right path. The right path went straight out, and the left path turned sharply to the right as soon as you went down it. There was something forboding about the left path, and he was glad they hadn't taken it.

Adrian nodded thoughtfully. "You can change into anything you want, then? How about things that don't exist?" he asked, now quite intrigued. He'd never really met a real shapeshifter before.

Briin'ken realized she couldn't make scizzors easily, so she did what came first to her mind. She curled her paw into a fist shape as best she could and stuck it out.
"Rock," she grinned, then caught sight of Garnet's rock fist as well. She laughed and lowered her paw.
"Well, great minds think alike, as I alw-er.. sometimes say!"

Adrian thought for a moment. "For instance, if you wanted to be something that you randomly thought of - like maybe a feathered dragon with several heads and um... radioactive horns and uh... rainbow wings and... some other things that don't exist." He wasn't good at being creative, either. "Like could you be something that wasn't real?"
Garnet snickered, and she sounded like a cat sneezing - because she was a cat. "Yes, yes, great minds do think alike indeed." She looked ahead. "I suppose we go straight then." Her eyes wavered as she looked at the path going straight, and felt something rather foreboding about it - much like Adrian did - but she said nothing. She got up and began to walk down the path. The wind blowed softly from behind, almost pushing them in...

The winged wolf began to trot after her friend Garnet. The breeze blew at their backs, causing Briin'ken to growl low in her throat. She quickly cut herself off though, because she thought she was being silly. Raising her head, the wolf peered warily down the path. Briin'ken then shook her head and gave Garnet a lopsided grin.
"Maybe we'll find some tasty hamburgers at the end of the maze," she suggested, chuckling a little.

Garnet grinned. "Hamburgers! Yum. Hold the pickles, though," she said as she walked. Up ahead was a dead end. "Arrgh! Would you look at that! Now we have to go back." She felt an overwhelming sense of relief as the forebodingness washed away, but for some reason she kept walking forward. She wouldn't feel accomplished if she didn't check it out first. Staring at the hedge in front of her, she failed to notice an inlaid stone on the ground that looked more like a button. She kept walking towards it, then stopped just before she stepped on it. She sniffed the air as the sense of foreboding came back. She shivered and stayed where she was. "Do you feel that? Can't you sense something wierd?" she finally asked.

"Ahh, I see," Adrian said, nodding thoughtfully. As they walked forward some more, the path divided into two again. Right and straight. Adrian rolled his eyes. "Now what?" He rested his elbow against a tall hedge, looking around. He noticed a small sign hanging from the corner of the hedge going to the right. "Look! A sign." It read:
Traveller: You near the end. Be prepared.
Adrian shuddered.

The wolf glared around, looking for anything that might threaten her or her friends. Though she was a little frightened, she put on a brave face to reassure her comrades.
((Hehe, how do you like my use of the word comrades? These are mad language skillz, wot? Lol, sorry, I've been reading these books lately.. ^_^))

((Whoop! *claps* Mad language skills goin' on over there! ))
Garnet absent-mindedly put a paw forward and felt the ground sink - but it was just that button. She glanced down. "That was wierd..." She looked around, waiting for something to trigger. Suddenly, out from the hedge at the end of the path came a large ax hurdling through the air towards them. Garnet shrieked and pushed herself against a wall, careful to keep her tail behind her. "You guys, watch out!" she yelled.
Adrian looked forward. "Hm. Well, we have two choices. Go straight and see what beholds us there, or go right. Then we'll reach the end and see what this man is talking about..." He put a hand up to his chin in thought. "Which way to go...?"

Never before had Briin'ken seemed so weighed down. It seemed as if she were moving in slow motion, trying to escape the swinging axe. Her limbs moved as if she were running through deep water.
But she made it, barely, out of the way of the deadly weapon. Briin'ken felt numb as she watched it fly past her.

Garnet's eyes went wide. "Omigosh. Are you okay?" she asked, surveying Briin to make sure she was okay. "It didn't hit you, did it?" She trotted over to her friend, then turned and looked at the button, which was now sunken into the ground. "Very, very dangerous place. This is not cool. We should be more careful now. I'm sorry for messing up like that." She lowered her ears. "One of us could have gotten hurt."
