Briin'ken slumped to the ground, waiting for her pounding heart to settle down. After a few seconds, specially dedicated to breathing properly ^_^, she turned her head to Garnet and shook her head.
"Naw, I probably would.. have done.. the same thing..," she said, still breathing a little heavily, "it was.. an honest mistake and.. I am fine, are you ok..?"

Garnet patted Briin on the back. "Okay calm down. Don't have a heart attack on me," she said. "I'm just fine, though. We're all okay..." Her voice trailed off as she turned to look at the ax, lying on the ground behind them. "But we have to be careful now. As soon as you are okay, we'll start again, but we have to keep an eye out. Or at least, I do..."

Anocher's turned towards the two paths. When in dowpt choose the right path He thought but decided to wait on what the other would say.

Adrian shook his head. "They could be anywhere now, and how could they help us?" he asked. "They may not be needing a distraction right now..." He scratched his head in thought, trying to figure out what to do.

After a few more seconds, Briin'ken became restless and leapt to her feet. She shook herself, as if she were getting rid of water. The wolf grinned at Garnet and playfully ran in a few circles around her.
"Feeling much better, Garnet! We can go now," she said, feeling a little giddy from the adrenaline rush she had just had.

Adrian nodded. "I say we keep going as well. Hmm... as for which path to take, why not the right one?" He squinted to see up the straight path. "I can't see where that one goes..."
Garnet grinned and jumped to her feet as well, spinning around in a circle or two just for some fun. "Okay! Let's go!" she cried, running off back down the path and making sure she avoided the ax at all costs. They got back to square one. "Now, then," she said, "Which way? Obviously not straight..." She turned her head to look down the left path, then down the right. "Rock, paper, scissor again?" she suggested with a shrug.

Briin'ken nodded in agreement. She raised her front right paw to play again. She thought ahead this time, planning to use paper against her friend. The wolf grinned slyly, feeling confident.

Garnet thought for a moment as she began to shake her fist. She decided to use rock again, since her friend would probably expect her to use something different. Unless Briin was expecting her to use rock because she knew that Garnet would think about changing, and then not change. So then Garnet changed her descision to paper. But no! That wouldn't do. Rock would have to be used... and she thought of all this within a fifteen second period.
"Rocks, paper, scissors, shoot!" Garnet cried, staying her paw as a rock.

"Grrr..." Garnet grumbled, sticking her tongue out at Briin. Her expression soon turned into a grin, however. "Umm, I think we said we'd go right. Ready? Let's be careful, now..." She got up and began to walk down the path to the right. It was quite uneventful, except for a few turns to the left or right that couldn't be avoided. Finally, they got to another intersection. Straight and left. Hanging on the hedge's corner was a sign. It read:
Traveler: Beware. You are near the end.
Garnet pulled a face. "Now that doesn't look too promising," she said sarcastically.

The wolf looked down each path but, seeing nothing, turned to Garnet. She sniffed the hedges, checking for Zelda's scent. Briin'ken detected a strange, new odor, but didn't think too much of it. She'd hoped to find Zelda's smell since they were close to the end of the maze.
"Hmm, I can't smell her..," she said dejectedly.

Garnet scratched her head. "Hmm. No doubt if she came this way, whoever kidnapped her would have carried her, I bet. In a bag. Because she would have hurt them." She looked down at the ground sadly, reality hitting her again. She took a deep breath and looked back up at Briin. "We could try going left, since the sign is on that hedge... maybe it is trying to point us to the end." She shrugged, seemingly indifferent (or sadder) now that Zelda had been mentioned. "It's just a suggestion."
