I have a big ten-day extended paternal family reunion coming up shortly, on a beach in the Carolinas. And I do enjoy the ocean! However, this translates to: a lot of (very extroverted) people I'm not all that familiar with in a place I don't know for rather longer than I am accustomed to dealing with. And that means my introverted ASD self has been avoiding packing in favor of dusting off a neglected adoptable. lol
For those of you who don't remember derplings, please feel free to peruse the Derp Directory! Of primary interest is the first post there, which has some basic info, portrait links, and a list of known traits with examples. If you have any questions about the species or adopting or anything, please feel free to ask. The earlier the better, though, as I leave Friday morning.
Derpling Adoption Basics:
--Naming and/or paging your derps is appreciated but not required.
--Please don't give away or trade derplings without contacting me, so I can keep my records in order.
--Derplings do have a behind-the-curtain genetic system based on real-life genetic principles of varying complexities. Feel free to look through the directory and do some deducing if that's your kind of thing! If not, no worries.
--Eggs are limited in scope, but they do hint at certain traits of the derps inside.
--Step 5: Profit?
Raffle

Not sure how many folks are active and interested right now, so we'll go with one egg apiece for now. Post the number of the egg you'd like, first come first serve, and if they've all been claimed the eggs will hatch when I return! If not, I'll open it up for seconds at that time. Now open for seconds!
I think that covers everything? I'm half-asleep due to a 4am work shift, though, so I make no promises. =P

- Carved pumpkins are a popular Halloween decoration, but the tradition began with older holidays and the humble turnip, carved and lit as protection from spirits. Being smaller and harder than pumpkins, turnips did not enjoy the elaborate carvings seen today on their famous cousins. The very first turnip lanterns didn't even have faces! Lit turnip lanterns generally have a more yellow glow than pumpkins, due to their color, hard rind, and smaller candles.
