Nameless could not shake the irksome feeling that she was a prisoner, hemmed in by guards who watched her every move. She knew better than to throw out an acrid jibe, though, and tried to view her position in a more positive light, tried to feel safer to be shielded in the front and back by naa who seemed comfortingly self-sure.
She felt Panic to be an ever-encroaching black flood that licked at her hooves and tried to catch her tail. She glued herself to Bismark's sturdy flank in retaliation, not caring for the moment if he or the other naa thought her soft and weak. For now, she needed physical contact or Panic would drag her down and drown her.
You can't get me if I attach myself to him, she informed It grimly. He was a rock: steady, solid, quiet, and utterly unmoveable.
I can still take you, it whispered to her, beckoning gently. I can rip you away in an instant, my own darling. And I can destroy him, too.>
You can shut up, she thought in fury. Shut up and go home.
I am home, dearheart, the silky black wave said encouragingly. I belong with you; you with me. Such is the way you were made to be.
Nameless walked blindly, relying on the movement and direction of Bismark's body, too caught up in her private battle to notice her surroundings anymore.
I belong to no one!
Nonsense. You belong to me because I know you better than you know yourself.
Liar.
I can even tell you your name -
SHUT. UP.

Broken glanced at 24601 but didn't question him. She wouldn't want to remember this place, whether it looked threatening or not.
There is more to this place than meets the eye, Solearth replied cryptically as they walked, seemingly oblivious to Nameless and her sudden strange reaction.
Bismark's ear cocked back worriedly and, though he didn't slow down for the mare, he seemed to lean into her just a little, to let her know his strength was there for her, if she wanted to take it.

Clearly, Syneh answered. Lots of... rooms and... other stuff.
24601 stayed close to Broken, though he mostly ignored her. Really, he didn't seem all there.

STOP Harily yells. There is something. . .rather two somethings up ahead. One of them is running away. he says, not really sure how he knows this.

The unnamed mare never even hears Harily's warning. Her walk has slowed to a stop and she stands motionless, head cocked to the side, eyes staring ahead but not seeing. Her ears are pricked forward and her body tense, as if she is trying to listen to something faint and far away.

24601 froze at Harily's warning. You should move now, he sent the other. Since you gave your position away.
So much for stealth, Syneh said.

Bismark hesitates, large ears flicking back to Harily uneasily. His orange eyes, however, are scanning the area, looking for wotever danger it was that tipped the other stallion off.
Broken also keeps her eyes on the area before them, but her voice is sharp, Wot is it? How do you know?
Solearth seems unperturbed, however, ears flipping forward towards one of the buildings curiously. The remains of the lab, he assumed. Syneh. The Kaigaihen gave no other warning as he suddenly broke forward.
Stand your ground! Broken snapped to the others, frustration jabbing at the butterfly-marked stallion as he and his partner moved swiftly through the ranks and into the large building.
The inside was dim; no lights turned on, though there was the distant hum of a generator evident to the sensitive ears of the Naa. Solearth's bronze ears flicked around swiftly, as olive green eyes swept the deserted room. Tanks, equipment, some broken, some not, filled the room. The Kaigaihen's head darted around a faint sound, and his tail flicked with some emotion. The Earth's ears abruptly went flat and his eyes narrowed, swiftly putting his back to Syneh's, speaking to wot seemed to be an empty room, Your mind is alien to ours.

Syneh followed Solearth instantly, ears flipping forward. What is it? she asked. She stopped when he did, mirroring him.
24601's ears flicked nervously and he flared his nostrils. He said nothing, though his eyes were wide. The instinct to flee was strong, but he obediently stayed close to Brokenshin.

A strange, hissing noise answered her question, then a flash of brown jerked the Kaigaihen's head to the side, ears flattening. This is wot our friend sensed, Solearth answered flatly, head following the movements of the creature through the darkened room. He. . . has become something we're not.
The hissing came again, almost wot one would expect a snake to sound like if it was able to amplify its sound. Solearth reached briefly out to Broken and she turned to Bismark and the nameless mare; Is there another entrance besides this one?
Bismark's ears flicked back, Yes, on the back side.
Lead us there.

Harily couldn't believe that he had actually sensed the other creatures there. It sorta shocked and amazed him all at once. Don't seem to freindly huh? he sent to no one in particular.

Nameless strains her neck forward, eyes wide in fascination, still listening to the hissing. She takes a slow step forward, then suddenly, jerks violently. Her eyes snap back to the little group of naa, coming back to her senses.
We need to leave, she sends pointlessly to no one in particular, sounding terrified.

Just lead us around back, Broken snapped at the pair, actual anger threading through her words. Solearth-shin knows wot he's doing. Orange ears were flat against her head, and deep red tail swished in agitation. She was not pleased about this turn of events.
Bismark glanced at the Kaigaihen, surprise emanating faintly from him. The Kaigaihen seemed so completely in control of themselves, that the mare's outburst seemed almost unnatural. This way, he responded, and led the way quickly around the building.
