24601 flinched at Broken's tone and followed after her, looking slightly cowed. United we stand, divided we fall, he quoted softly to himself.
Of course he has, Syneh replied, seemingly taking the news in stride. What fun would it be if he was still normal? She stayed close to the Kaigaihen, swishing her tail nervously.

Solearth sent Syneh a quick glance as though checking to be sure she was still alright. It had been a long time since he'd had an unTrained partner, and he had forgotten, for a moment, the implications of such. Despite a sense of of nervousness, however, the mare seemed to be doing fine. Back up slowly towards the door, he sent her privately, backing up a step, himself. He wanted to secure the exits; wotever was still in here with them, needed to remain here.
Bismark moved around the last corner, pausing outside of the door and turning to glance expectantly at Broken. The Kaigaihen inspected the battered metal curiously. It swung partially open, though not nearly as open as the door they had just left. Her nostrils flared as she scented the area, then sent the Earth confirmation of their position.
Time to make his move. Solearth glanced once more towards Syneh, making certain she was alright, then his eyes slipped closed and he reached out to that alien mind again. The hissing sound came again, but the Kaigaihen refused to be cast aside. His mind held a croon, as he called to the changed creature hiding in the shadows. He didn't use words, but thoughts and feelings and memories. Open fields brightened by the midday sun, the scent of the forest after a good rain, the contentment of being in an I'er.
Olive green eyes opened and he blinked slowly at the strange creature slunk before him. Greetings, the Kaigaihen sent softly.
It was almost a Naa, or partially, at least. He was short, almost half the height of Solearth, with taloned claws at his fore and wings mantled tightly across his back. His mouth opened slightly, separating the two beaks, lower and upper, as he hissed again. Who arrrre you? His mental voice held something of a slur, as though his mind had been as altered as the rest of him.
I am Solearth, the Kaigaihen replied, looking down into the golden eyes. Who are you?
The smaller Naa tilted his head, eyeing the larger stallion in a bird-like manner. I am Hawkeye.

Aside from the fine trembling throughout his frame, 24601 seemed relatively calm. He stayed close to the Kaigaihen mare, almost shadowing her movements.
Syneh obeyed, moving fluidly to the exits. Her eyes grew wide at the sight of the strange naa-gryphon. She left the talking up to the Kaigaihen.

Nameless paws in frustration. Are you the one who was calling me? she sends, unable to contain herself and wait for the Kaigaihen.

Harily watches as the Naa/Hawk slunk from the shadows. He felt a strange pulling towards the other Naa and took a step forward. Greeting, Hawkeye. I am Harilycouel, but you may call me Harily. he said, not the least bit thrown off by the alterations tat have taken place in the other stallion. He was still a Naa after alll.

Hawkeye's head jerked around and he gave that strange hissing cry again. His wings flared slightly as his body tenses at the all of the strange Naa surrounding him. Solearth tilted his head, ears flattening. Uh-oh. The Kaigaihen made a sudden movement forward, something he normally would never do, and the smaller creature gave a shrieking call and threw himself at the bronze Naa. Solearth didn't fight, simply rolling his shoulder so Hawkeye would, hopefully, miss anything vital. The dual beaks sank into his shoulder and he winced at the sudden pain.
Solearth-shin! Broken's eyes were wide, but the stallion sent her a sharp, Stay back!
Hawkeye easily ripped a hunk of the stallion's shoulder out, and Solearth's breath caught suddenly in his throat, though his eyes remained steadfastly on the other. Hawkeye backed away suddenly, dropping the meat, golden eyes wide and something like terror coming off of him in waves.
Be at peace, Hawkeye, the Kaigaihen's voice was the same calm as always. The small Naa shook his head violently, sending little splatters of blood flying back and forth. For a moment, they had a glimpse into the Naa's mind, the chaotic disorder and the absolute hatred of wot they had made him.
Peace, Hawkeye, peace, The Earth stallion moved towards him, limping now as he couldn't fully raise his leg. Seemed Hawkeye had gone a little deeper than he'd first expected. He stopped in front of the smaller Naa, who cowered against a steel panel. Solearth reached out, touching the tip of his beak to Hawkeye's top one. Be at peace, his voice was low and soft, and it worked. The tension slipped out of the reddish-brown frame and he stared up at the larger stallion calmly. You ssshould hate me, he almost sounded like a normal Naa. I have hurrrt you.
We cannot fight wot we are, Solearth replied softly. Or wot we have become.
Hawkeye's wings flared over him like a cloak as he hid his face. A monsssterrr.
Not a monster, the Kaigaihen replied quietly. Just a Naa with some changes.
Hawkeye didn't answer, and Solearth left it at that. He didn't have the time to emotionally hold Hawkeye's paw, and his eyes flicked over the others in the group. Harily, come watch over our friend. We still have need to search this place.
The otherrrsss arre gone, Hawkeye said quietly, eyes flicking upwards to the other stallion again. They took them and left.
Solearth turned his gaze back to the smaller stallion, interest his gaze. How did you come to be here, Hawkeye?
Hawkeye hissed again, but this time it wasn't directed at the other Naa, They left me. Anger and fear entwined in his voice. They left me like ssso much trrrasssh.
Solearth silently sent comfort and reassurance to the stallion, waiting for the rest of the story.
They decided a few daysss ago, Hawkeye said softly after a moment, as though he were only talking to Solearth, though the others could hear. They sssaid two had essscaped, and the lab wasssn't ssecurre anymorre. They left me and two otherrrsss butt a warrning to not follow them.
Were you to attack us? the question came kindly.
Hawkeye's beak gaped open at the Kaigaihen, I did attack you. He shook his head depserately and Solearth crooned again, Be at peace. Hawkeye lay still for a long moment before looking up at him again. We arrre dangerrrouss, he stated flatly, voice monotone and dead. We don't even know wot they have done to uss. Any of uss may attack at any time. He didn't seem pleased to admit that.
You have the most complete memory of any we have met thusfar, Solearth told him quietly, distracting him from his warnings of danger. How many then, have you met? he hissed, head jerking to stare towards Harily. Keen eyes picked out the other shapes in the darkness.
You are the fourth, Solearth answered easily. If you like, we can move outside.
Hawkeye seemed to think about that for a long moment, before giving a small nod. The Kaigaihen turned to look at the group, Everyone head outside, the way you came, please. We will meet you out there in a moment. It was not a request.
You're bleeding badly, Broken spoke to him on a tight level, staring at her partner as she let the others flow around her. I can't heal anything that deep.
Leave it for now, Broken-shin, a hint of his weariness and pain threaded his voice to her. You'll be able to heal the worst of it once he has calmed, and that will be enough for now. Go, I would not have our carnivorous friend upset again.
Broken sent him a stab of surprise, but his shields were back up and, with a shake of her head, the Kaigaihen herded the others outside and a short distance from the building. He needs space, guys, she reprimanded them. He's a bit more flighty than the rest of you.
Bismark stood at the edge of the group, ears flicking about silently. Hawkeye seemed vaguely familiar, but nothing came fully forward in his mind. Orange eyes flicked to the mare, and concern filled them. She was acting strange and he wasn't sure why. He couldn't protect him from the dangers he didn't know were coming.
(( bismark is so pretty. . . . *distracted by teh naa* ^^;;; hehe almost got all the info out of hawkeye that i want, and most of his personality set down. ^^ fyi. ))

((Hmmm, feisty little guy huh! Me likey))
Harily follwed the others outside. Wait, he said he was the only one in there. I know I felt one other besides him. he stated flatly. Not really trusting this new power he seems to have aquired, he brushes it off as nothing.

Broken turned to look sharply at Harily. Where's the other now?
If the sub-Season sensed then, he might catch the faint pulse of the other still moving away from them before vanishing beyond his ability to sense.

Running away from us. Harily stated before he lost sense of the other. It is gone now, out of my reach. he added, still puzzled by his new ability.

Bismark and I can go after the other, sends Nameless quickly. She eyes Hawkeye with a sort of terror, clearly wanting to be nowhere near him.

(( which would work, except its Sea's little mare and i don't know if she wants to join this rp. . . ^^;;;;; HEHE ))
Broken was torn for a moment, glancing around before shaking her head, I think it would be better for us to all stay together. Thank you for your offer. Looks like she still has a bit of the Kaigaihen training in her. Though not enouch to know how to offer reassurance to the nameless mare.
Bismark steps closer to her, however, extending his head downward to brush the edge of his plate against her neck. I will not let him hurt you, he kept the words soft, for the mare alone as he tried to discern the meaning of the horror hiding in her.

((dagnabbit... didn't know that. blargh!))
Nameless' neck droops a bit, partly from rejection, partly from frustration at not being able to get away.
It isn't that, she sends back to Bismark grimly, on the tightest circuit possible. I don't think whatever I heard wanted to hurt me. It wanted me to join it. And something inside me almost did. The memory experiments on me were more extensive and more complete than I'd thought. I could swear it was this Hawkeye, but maybe it was something else, speaking through him or speaking directly to me. I don't know. Maybe I'm just crazy.
She sounds almost tearful. Please don't tell the others. Especially Harily. He.. knows things. I don't want to draw his attention.

24601 followed the others reluctantly, keeping his attention on Hawkeye. That's right, they were left as a warning... He had forgotten that. Huh.
Syneh eyed Solearth worriedly before joining the others. Think he'll be alright alone in there? she asked Broken. She moved closer to 24601 as they retreated. She was a little surprised when the stallion tensed, nostrils flaring and eyes rolling.

Bismark agreed, reluctant not because he wanted to share with the others, but because he was concerned for her. Dark ears went back uneasily and he continued to watch around them, trying to hide his anxiety. Despite Harily's confidence they were alone here, the lab, deserted even as it seemed, still made him nervous. Short white tail flicked uneasily. He wanted out of here.
Yes, Broken assured Syneh. Solearth knows wot he's doing. One ear flicked towards 24601, looking askance at him from the corner of her eye. She already had too many loose cannons with them. Wot were these mutated Naa anyway?
Solearth backed away from the Naa-gryph and just watched around them, one ear tilted towards Hawkeye, as he nonchalantly inspected their surroundings. He listened as the smaller Naa resettled his wings over and over, working to relax and calm down. Solearth mused on wot he had gathered from the brief look in his mind.
Hawkeye was definitely more carnivore than herbivore now, but the Kaigaihen was fairly certain the other was now an omnivore. He was concerned about the level of hatred the mutated Naa had for himself.
I am alrright now, the shorter Naa suddenly announced, rising with bird-like gracefullness. We ssshould not keep the otherrsss waiting.
They will be fine, Solearth answered quietly, beginning to move slowly towards the door. Do you remember more, Hawkeye?
The naa-gryph hesitated, stopping in his tracks, golden eyes staring at the floor for a long minute. I cannot rrrememberrr morre than thrree days ago. And, with that, he strode out of the building. Solearth trailed after him, hearing wot the other Naa didn't seem to care to admit. They had done something to his memory and it purged anything than a few days old. That could be very, very dangerous for them. Hawkeye needed a companion.
(( as with most of the mutated naa, hawkeye will likely be in a mated pair, which means, he needs a female! HEHE he's very likely to imprint on whoever "adopts" him, if anyone, which means if you want him to ever get to breed, you may want to find a female for him or bug me desperately for one. ^~ HEHE
in the long run, he prolly can't be trusted without someone who is his constant companion; anyone he doesn't see in a week he'll forget and he tends to get anxious around strangers. he's like a raptor bird with a hint of feelings thrown in and sentience. uuhhhhmmmm, wotelse? oo;;; hrms. *has the feeling there was more* he's slightly claustrophobic unless he's blindfolded. any questions? ^^ hehe feel free to take him over for the RP now. ))

((((*happywriggle* miiiiiissed you, sera!! um, take him over? chi?))))
Nameless stared after Hawkeye. Others? she said in awe. How many others are there? And why are they waiting? And for what purpose?
She shivered slightly. Looking around her, she thought what a strange bunch they were.
We're waiting... She almost thought she heard the soft seductive whisper from beyond the labs. She snorted violently and flashed her ears back and then forward. I am not one of you. I am my own naa, free, alone, and self-contained. And you cannot change that.
She followed Solearth unhappily, dreading what was to come next.
