"Agreed..." Tailenar answered in a growl. Feeling just the same way. Though he was really more concern over Nayena then Ali. Even if the raven did posses magic and had asured him that she was capable of taking care of herself; still did not stoop Tailenar from worrying.
Raising his sword in ready for a fight, he nimbly trailed after Ali shouting back. "Brace yourself I sense danger!"

Ali continued pressing forward, nose to the ground, weaving among the tall grass. She heard Tailenar call, but ignored him, knowing his voice would alert any dangerous creatures and her voice would do the same.
The trees began to thin a little and then, without warning, the forest stopped and Ali found herself on top of a hill looking at a valley that spanned hundreds of miles of gray ash. It was smouldering, hot, and she could see that there had been several villages burned. But on the horizon were smudges of red--red pennants waving in the wind.
"My red fur..." she said slowly in awe at the destruction.

"What is this..." Gasped the words of Nayena perched high up in a tree. Speaking out for the first time. "Tailenar was right there was a battle...no a massacre!" She had seen warfare and it's destruction before, but to see such a thing here? In the place that for hundreds of years had been a safe haven for wayfarers of all races seeking rest and to meet other beings.
Nayena bowed her head in mourning for the loss of life and for the proud trees that had once made the place fair. But her thoughts were suddenly interrupted when Tailenar emerge from the trees.
His bright jaded eyes went wide with complete shock.
"Some great evil at work." He growled and strained his eyes spotting the waving pendants and spat angrily. "Red banners..red like blood. And whose blood shall be painted upon my face!"

Ali touched the silver marks upon her forehead.
"By my crest, we shall find out what has happened. Let is go back and tell the she-dragon."

The liger took one look at the ashen grounds growled, then turned around and ran the way back. Followed by Nayena flying over head.

Rising her head sharply, Sukosh strained her ears for the direction of approach, then crouched low and spat out a high, fiercly hot wall of flame around herself. I reached up and covered over her like a dome, a wall of protection that made her mouth hang open from the heat. She had to be careful though, if she allowed it to be much hotter the plant-life would suffer.
The flames bathed over her, flickering in harsh intensity and allowing for a moment where she could recognize the three forms. With a single soft spoken work the intensity of the wall lessoned perceptibly. She got a good look at them then, and with a snort put out the wall entirely. Stretching languidly, she eyed each of them and waited for news.

Ali gathered speed and flew up into the air, and rapidly began flying back. She saw Sukosh cast the barrier and then dropped and hovered in the air.
"There is a great waste. Many battles. Fire and blood." Ali said. "Come with us."
She pumped her wings and went upward and flew back to the cliff and landed, breathing faster than usual.

Tailenar let out a frighten hiss seeing Sukosh from ahead engulfed in flame. For a moment he thought that the dragon was under some magic attack and was about to charge until Nayena from above reassured him. "It is all right Tailenar!" She said trying to calm him down. Knowing that the liger had a mild fear for fire. “I was just wary!” He called back not wanting that had been scared.

Sukosh looked at each of them, her eyes flickering coldly before she started after Ali, giving a single cursory nod to the others. Death and war happened. What they were to do about it she had no clue.

Ali's chest throbbed back and forth the the symbols on her fur flickered a little. What had appeared as a dozy, gentle day seemed to be far from it. Surely this valley had been beautiful, crowned with flowers and life. She stared the horizon, smudged with red and black. Ash was falling up ahead, that she could tell. To walk out in the open would be death, so they could skirt around the edges. But what then?

Grumbling and growling Tailenar followed behind Sukosh. While Nayena as always flew overhead.
The black and purple bird let out a ravenish chuckle. The poor cat was probably feeling quite the fool. His pride for being the warrior had been momentarily hurt. Ahh...wounded pride. She thought Poor beast but then again your pride does need be humbled.

"I see nothing that can be done here," Sukosh said flatly, and glared at each of her companians. "I see no way to follow whoever did this. The field is too dead."
With that she let out a long, thin flame that circled high before settling over the blackened site to smolder the ramains of the fallen and sweep away ashes so that the small, tender green that survived the warfare could better grow. It was a rather quick clean up. Other than that, she saw nothing they could do.

Ali raised an eyebrow at the glare.
"Odds are whoever did this will end up doing something else to some other innocent creatures."

"Then let us hope that they are either forewarned or better prepared," Sukosh noted. "If there were a way to follow, to even guess at the source of this distruction I would send word to all. As it is, we are defeated. I've already put out word of danger. There's nothing more to be done."
With those few words, she spread her wings and flew easily back to the clearing, venting the injustice by throwing her head back and letting out a long, deepthroated roar as a pillar of flame shot up, trying to touch the sun. Snorting, she leaned once more on the tips of her wings, and glared dully at the trees. They had been too late, as they had during the raids. The emotions and memories were so strong, that for a while she'd not noticed the sound of her plates, or the whistle of flight.
