A lone mare... [open rp]

[Nippy]

Celeste let out a joyous cry. Retreating again, she stood back and watched as the beast went wild. "Now's our chance!" she cried. "We can escape now! He can't see us..." She sidled a ways to the side, since she figured he might leap after her after hearing her voice. She cantered over behind him and stood, still on guard, waiting for Moonsong's answer.

[Belladandy]

"Heads towards the river of west yonder!" Riss cried. "Once arcoss I think we'll be safe!"

[Nippy]

Celeste nodded and reared, wheeling to the west and galloping away from the creature. She was proud of herself tonight, and proud of Moonsong, too. What a fair amount of courage her little friend had! Galloping away, the memories of her accident flooded back to her again. She shook her mane and furrowed her brow, not wishing to remember it, but she couldn't help it. She could remember the bloodiness of it all, and she could remember being so weak the morning after it happened. But she could not remember anything before it. This frustrated her deeply, and made her upset, but for now she'd push it all aside - again - and she would make her escape. She would speak with Moonsong later about this beast. She had a feeling that her friend knew more about it than she did. Clearing her mind of the headache from her powers (the beast's frustration, anger, and pain had been getting to her), she galloped on.

[Belladandy]

The fariy trailed behind Celeste, flying low to the ground. Using her magic Moonsong comanded the moisture from the ground to come up and wipe away the sent that the unicorn left.

As for the Mor'tack he followed for a bit but being blinded and now with the sent gone he bellowed in frustration. His prey was gone but there will be another time and the blood of revenge will flow soon again. Turning around the beast disappeared into the darkness.

[Nippy]

Soon, Celeste reached the river. Her mood had lightened a lot when she had gotten out of reach of all the emotions. She splashed right into the river and straight across it, but when she had gotten to the other side, she spun around and looked through the darkness to find both Moonsong and the Mor'tack. No Mor'tack. Good. Moonsong was here. Good. She grinned at Moonsong and reared again, prancing around for joy.

"Hah! We did it! Did you see that?! I was like-" Celeste stopped and thrust her horn into the thin air. "-and then I was like-" She then feinted an attack at nothing and pretended to parry a hit. "-and then you were like-" She reared and flung her hooves out at the air she was 'attacking'. "-and then you were like-" She cantered around in a circle and blew air out of her mouth, pretending she had a blow pipe. She stopped suddenly and laughed. "Whoa, that must've been the first fight I've ever won! And actually not run from!" She paused and panted, walking up to the river and sipping a little. She was tired from the battle, but still relatively happy for herself and for Moonsong. Rejoice now. Questions later, she thought.

[Belladandy]

The fairy burst out laughing. “Hip, hip Huzzah! Hip, hip Huzzah! She cried and flew part way across the river before in her moment of joy, fell in the water. Swimming towards the shore Moonstone popped out of the river and hovered next to Celeste. “What a tale to be told! The Unicorn, the fairy and the dark beast!”

Celeste nickered and grinned. She laughed softly. "And what a wonderful campfire story it'll be for the young ones! Once they hear of us, of course," she said. "We must spread some rumors," she joked. "Just so they can hear about our valiant fight! And then it'll be passed down from generation to generation... and soon, we'll be dragons that caught the beast on fire and burnt it to death!" She laughed again. But she was tired still. She yawned and bent down towards the river, shaking her mane. She stared at herself and Moonsong's reflections for a little while. "Moonsong," she began slowly, quietly, as she had gotten more serious now, "What was that thing? Have you any idea?"

[Belladandy]

The fairy yawned and sat beside the unicorn. "I know not of yet..." She answered. "But I know that I hear of this beast before..I just can't put my finger on it. "

She sighed and laid down. "Mayabes in the morning I'll know."

[Nippy]

Celeste nodded and turned away from her reflection, trotting over to a nearby tree. "It's almost morn. I think we should sleep now, so we won't sleep the day away," she said, laughing a little. The prospect seemed almost wonderful, but she hated to waste days away. "We've had a rough night - it's time to rest up now." She grinned and plopped down beside the tree with a thud, leaning against it. "I'm ready to sleep when you are!" She yawned again.

[Belladandy]

The fairy didn't have to answer already she was lying in the grass fast alseep.

[Nippy]

((I am SO sorry I haven't RPed in like FOREVER!! Hectic life going on over here.))

Celeste snickered softly and put her head on her knees, shutting her eyes. It had been a rough night, and she would probably sleep away most of the morning. But she would sleep like a rock, and she would like it. With a sigh, she drifted off to a sound sleep.

Through out the night there was no sign of the dark beast. Save for at times one could hear a howl way off in the distance. But besides that there was no more unpleasant interruptions.

Moonsong on the other hand had the most peculiar dream. She dreamt that she was a young child back into her mother’s lap. Her mother was reading her a story; a story about many great heros fighting against a evil lord and his dark beast. A fell beast of old used for battles and other evil deeds. So horrible this creature was that it was given the name the “Mor'tack” spawn from the darkness....

Moonsong woke up and got to her feet. The sun was beginning to show his face through the clouds. Kewal what night! Now I know what the beast was a Mor'tack.. But as she began to recall the tales tell that the dark beast were wiped out from existence centuries ago. Then they really must of mist this one.

[Nippy]

Celeste twitched in her sleep, completely oblivious to the fact that Moonsong had awakened. She mumbled under her breath, "Yes, the monkey stole my money... oh, this is a natural grey... want to play monopoly? I know all the answers..." ((*snatches lines from 'Finding Nemo' and myself* )) Suddenly, Celeste stopped twitching and blinked her eyes open. She gazed around, her vision fuzzy at first. Her dream was so odd, she would rather have not explained it. She sat herself up, realizing she was all sprawled out across the forest floor. Seeing Moonsong up, she grinned and shouted, "Good morning, friend!" being as Moonsong's back was to her, and she'd have liked to surprise her friend.

[Belladandy]

"Good morning!" Moonsong replied turning aound to face her. And also trying not to snicker at the uniorn's mumbling in her sleep.

"Celeste I know what that thing was last night! I remember Mother used to tell me lots of stoires and one of them was about a evil beast called a Mor'tack. I think that what it was a Mor'tack!"

[Nippy]

"Humm, I've never heard of that before! ...Or, I could have, and just not remembered it," Celeste replied, biting her lip in thought. She had no idea about what she said in her sleep. "Do you know anything else about it, like what it was doing or why it's here? Like maybe it's attracted to this weird ritual gathering every year about this time of year..." She trailed off in thought. "...Or maybe not."
