"Nearby? No, not really. I don't hail from anywhere in particular. I like to wander a lot, I don't think I've ever called some place home for more than a day, two maximum. I've never found anything which has yet compelled me to take up a permanent residence..." She sighed to herself, and although her smile was rueful, it held an edge of a smirk, as if it had been some master plan of hers. Unlikely story.
No, she wasn't so attuned as to know exactly who and/or what was coming towards them, she'd felt a minor disturbance, and that was all... until... "It seems quiet?" It was more a question than anything. She hadn't been particularily paying attention, so she felt strange even voicing her concern, she was probably just tired from travelling into the early morning. She was stubborn that way sometimes.
Her tail flicked once in idle irritation, she didn't like being left in suspense or not know what was going on. This happened often. She was quite used to the irritation by now. Shrugging her shoulders at the comforting sounds of the Tsumes, she tried to block out the awkwardness.

"It is," Cresce stated quietly, and the seriousness of his tone all but stilled the instruments of his sisters. The drum fell into beat with his cello, and the flute was silent as Trill hummed harmony to the dark melody of the stringed instrument.
Katya huddled against Griksei's leg, body fully tense. It couldn't be. . . it just. . . couldn't be. . . She was only a lowly mix. . . he had no reason to want to pursue her. . .
Wot stepped from the woods looked almost like a huge satyr. A humanoid torso, powder white, disappeared into the reddish black of fur of a cloven-hoofed hind. A silvery-grey horn protruded from his forehead, split partially down. He regarded them wtih equally silver eyes, a near ghostly image, added to by the sash of skin that draped across the pale white chest. Perhaps not evident at first, Griksei would recognize the war trophies for wot they were, gryvern ears. Small tusks curved upwards from his lower jaw and they gaped slightly as he rasped strangely at them, "You have something that belongs to me."

A poison tail... Here? That wasn't good... Well, even worse than just this one that had shown up because if one had gotten out here there were bound to be others and that would be very bad for any explorers.
But his attention didn't leave the large one that was here right now, it appeared to be a rather experienced one from all the.... Ears it had collected. "You are mistaken, Nothing and No one here belongs to you." He said with a growl and moved to face him more directly, and moved more infront of Katya than entangled with her. Judging by what information he had managed to get from her earlier she really did not want to be taken back by this thing... Well, if he was guessing right, although he couldn't imagine that anyone would want to go with that monster.

The light eyes bore into Griksei, a flash of annoyance flickering through them before falling back into a bored mask of cool indifference. Why did this particular gryvern look familiar? The Poisontail couldn't quite place him; other things occupied his mind. Mainly, getting his daughter back. "You are mistaken, beast," he replied slowly, still gauging the other male carefully. He hadn't become wot he was today by being as careless and headstrong as his fellows. Or as stupid. This gryvern had a worrisome air, and those trimmed ears bespoke something well-used to fighting. No, this might not be the best time to collect his daughter again.
The tsume were staring at the new being with outright curiousity and almost hidden distaste. Trill cleared her throat and the pale eyes flicked to her then swiftly back to Griksei. "Greetings to you," she intoned softly, almost like a funeral bell. "This is a place of peace; let's be the same with each other."
A look of amusement flared across the Poisontail's face and the transformation was frightening. In a heartbeat it, too, fled, leaving that blank expression for them again. "I have brought no violence to you, only a simple request."
"Not yet," Katya whispered, now huddled against Griksei's hindleg. "He's biding his time, and then. . . . . " her trembling upgraded to full-blown shakes and she seemed unable to stop. "You killed my mother!" she cried.
The Poisontail made a tsking noise, as he gently shook his head. "Now, now, m'dear, you know that's not true. -You- killed her. It's your fault she died, not mine. I tried to save her, but the damage you did was too great and she died."
Katya whimpered, closing golden eyes desperately and pressing harder against the gryvern's leg. "no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no-" the soft denials sounded over and over again as though she was trying to convince herself.

A pale blue mare steps out from the bushes and starts sniffing at the ground. After finding nothing of intrest she trots to the nearest pool of water and starts drinking.
