"We're off to see the wizard," Sobriquet sang cheerily, frolicking along and entwining her tail with Samir's. "The wonderful wizard of Oz.." she laughed, unable to keep a serious demeanor while singing the song. She glanced at the Gryvern, eyes shining. "That one, right?"
Further along, another creature walked as well. He caught sound of the voices, and glanced up, unsure of how to react.

Samir gave a low, pleased laugh, "You're much better at that than Mozer is." He reveled in the feel of her tail around his. "How do you know so many songs?" he asked easily, realizing that there were so many things he would like to ask about her, to talk about with her, but he wasn't really sure where to begin. Or if she would mind.

Her body bumped softly up against his own, feathers silky soft against his side. "I have travelled many places.. It's something I just pick up on naturally, I suppose. Once I hear a song, it stays with me." her ears perked, and she glanced around suddenly, moving a little closer to Samir. "I believe there is another someplace close, Samir." she murmured, resting her head on his shoulder to peer beyond him.
Phoenix stood perfectly still for a moment, then shook his head. It was a Gryvern that he saw, and something much smaller. Regardless, he should do the proper thing and go find out what they were doing.. It was dictated by his natural curiousity.

"Just act natural," Samir replied softly, smiling down at her, though his dark eyes were alert. "I don't we are meant any harm out here, but I will protect you no matter wot. I have given my word." And he liked her, blastit. But now wasn't the time to dwell on that, he kept her going forward, giving their follower a chance to step out or just continue to stalk them. He wasn't going to start a fight with anyone unless he absolutely had to, but he wasn't in the least opposed to ending one.
"That sounds like a rare gift," he kept with their previous conversation. "I don't think I have any such abilities. At least, not with music." All of his abilities centered around being a Hunter, really.

Sobriquet paused for a moment, then suddenly leapt onto the larger Gryvern's back, using her vantage point to spot the blue form more easily. She noted that he was coming towards herself and Samir, so she fluffed out her feathers. "Greetings!" She called, keeping an eye on the approaching form.
Phoenix hesitated. He'd figured he would be spotted.. He moved in until he was closer to the two, offering a bow. "Greetings to you." he replied in kind, eyes moving from Gryvern to Gryphon under expressive eyebrows. "I was wondering if you could tell me exactly where I am.."

Samir gave a quiet laugh, twisting his head carefully to eye Sobri out of his peripheral vision. Well, that worked too. He had to remember that not everything responded well to stalk and pounce. He gave his own quiet hallo to the new creature, then answered, "As far as I know, you're in the Orchard. Does this help?"
He stood carefully still to not throw Sobri off balance, though he guessed she wouldn't have a problem from her perch either way. She had been hanging to those upper branches without a problem.

The small Gryphon's beak pressed softly against Samir's cheek, a shy but oddly intimate touch. Her feathers seemed to glide over his fur, oh so softly... It seemed that she was suddenly subdued by the words of the spike-haired Gryvern, and had decided to let Samir practice his diplomacy. Every once in a while, she would peek out, but for the most part seemed to be content to preen Samir's dark hair.
The Earth nodded to himself, looking toward the sky in thought. "Ah... Good. I heard that there were others here, but I wanted to see it for myself. My quad recently arrived, and I was in desperate need of a little space." he chuckled softly, offering Samir an apologetic grin. He seemed completely fascinated by the little white ball of fluff perched on the sky-blue Gryvern's back. "I'm Phoenix."

Samir inspected the newcomer with interest, a tension he hadn't realized was within him slipped away when Phoenix spoke of his quad arriving. A quad meant he had his mate. And that was just fine with the Air.
"It's nice to meet you, Phoenix," Samir replied. "I'm Samir and this is Sobriquet." He kept his dark gaze on the other and seemed more than willing to stare the other down if he showed undue interest in the little gryphon.
"Is everything well with your quad?"

"Yeah.. Sometimes I just need some time to be with myself." The blue Gryvern shook his head, the small mask moving with his neck. He was grinning a little sheepishly, as if he didn't expect the other to fully understand - his quad was good, fantastic even, but the inner tension became taxing at times. "And you? Where are you going off to?" he looked genuinely interested, clearly not just making small talk with the two.
"We're going to try to find my Aerie." Sobriquet replied softly, but said no more on the subject. Instead, she burried closer to Samir. It seemed that when subject to more than one individual at a time, the little gryphon would withdraw into herself, going silent with her shyness. Nothing personal, just... a complete introvert.

Samir smiled slightly, unaware of just how telling that one expression might be. Of course, Sobri couldn't see it from her perch, and the Air was completely unaware that his fondness for her actions was already so blatant.
"Yes, off to discover wot we can," he said lightly. He was hesitant to invite the other along for a variety of reasons, including not wanting to share Sobri's attentions. Not that she seemed like she wanted anyone else to come as well.

Phoenix bowed slightly, looking a little awkward in the movement. It was obvious that he did not stand much by ceremony, and the proper way that most Gryvern interacted was stifling to him. "So.. uh, I'll let you be on your way, then?" he grinned a little crookedly. It was clear that he didn't mind at all, and that he was in fact itching to run like a maniac in the wide space avaliable to him here.
Sobriquet peeked from Samir's shoulder again, her cheek pressed to his. "It was a pleasure, Phoenix. I hope we meet again sometime."

"Ah, and Phoenix," Samir suddenly thought. "There are a lot of streams around here." A grin of pleasure spread across the Air's face, remembering his first trip out of the Home Reality. "I hope you enjoy yourself."
He inclined his head to the other gryvern, gently pressing his cheek to Sobriquet's before turning and heading on their way again.

The other nodded politely before breaking into a wide grin, darting off speedily through the tall grasses. This afternoon would be his and his alone.
After a moment, the little white gryphon leapt from Samir's back, looking up at him with affection and a little embarassment. "Sorry, Samir.. I just freeze up. I don't... really know how I should act around anyone, Gryvern or Gryphon or Tsume.. I just don't know what's expected of me."

Samir felt his chest squeeze at her expression and he leaned over to touch his nose to her beak afectionately. "It's fine, Sobri," he replied easily, obviously not in the least upset by her reaction. "I will suggest that being yourself seems the easiest solution to your quandry, though." He smiled to keep any censure from his voice.

"You are right, as I find you to be so often.." she closed her eyes, sighing and looking almost at peace with the world for that moment, opening her beak very slightly to lick his muzzle. Her eyes opened again, and she inclined her head to the side. "Shall we? There's probably still a long way to go, and you and I appear to be landbound."
She knew little of Gryverns, and as such, knew not that Samir could likely fly though his wingless appearance would seem to say otherwise. She knew that Ki-rin Gryphons flew, though wingless, but that was a thing that she was not.
