"Well," the Air replied easily. "You're small enough that I could carry you easily. Though all I have to hold onto is my cloak." But he could rig that into a sort of harness/collar that she could hold onto. He had done it often enough for the gryvern nestlings. And he really didn't mind the thought. He rather enjoyed the feel of her soft featheryness. "That would help with the length of this leg of our journey." He smiled again.

"You.. can fly?" a rush of emotions filled the small gryphon, and her eyes widened suddenly. There was no jealousy in her face, however, simply wonder and amazement, maybe even a touch of joy. She could touch the sky again, even if not by her own doing.
"I weigh little. I do not object to being bundled, oh Samir, I just want to fly with you!" her giddy attitude was infectious, her joy boundless. It was as if the stress of that moment had been washed from her mind completely, and now only thoughts of the air filled her mind (in both ways >>). He couldn't know it, but her heart was thudding heard and fast, that peculiar feeling growing more and more as time went on.

Samir blinked in surprise, and his eyes unconsciously drifted the strange little wing fluffs that lit upon her back. He was thoughtful, but his smile was genuine and warm. "Your wish is my command, Sobriquet," he replied easily, then moved with a practiced motion, swinging the cape around. It came over the right hand side of his chest still covering the scar that resided there.
It took only a moment to rearrange it so that it resemebled something like a hood. "There, now you can have a hold in case you need it." Not, he thought with some admiration, that she probably would. He turned to look expectantly to her.

She moved slowly, delicately, to the Gryvern's side, leaping nimbly first onto his back and then slowly sliding into the "basket". She found it to be quite comfortable, fitting her body almost as if made for herself alone. She looked at Samir, beaming and nuzzling his neck softly. "It's perfect, Samir. So perfect.."
Everything seemed perfect to her. It was a feeling she had never thought to find in even other Gryphons, and yet.. Here she was, and here he was, being everything she had ever hoped for in anything. She was beginning to feel so much more positive about this quest.

Samir felt his chest swell with some pride. "This make take some getting used to," he warned her, then he leapt skyward, body moving in the undulating motions that would keep them in the sky. He kept low to the ground for now to be sure the harness held well and to give her a chance to grow used to the unusal motions. "Tell me if we need to adjust anything." It seemed likely that they would travel this way for awhile and he wanted her to be as comfortable as possible.

She settled easily against his side, bracing herself for the sudden climb. She was suprised by the Gryvern's movement through the air, and subconsciously pressed in close the the Air, eyes wide. Her heart leapt into her throat, and a delighted cry escaped her. "How fabulous this is, Samir!" she called to him, feathers plastered back by the wind's force. "I've never experienced anything like it in all my life!"
Sobriquet settled eventually, finding that standing was difficult in the "basket", and that she often lost her balance. Her paws folded very catlike against her body, a low purr rising from her chest. "Tell me about the Gryvern, Samir.." she said, pressed close to help him hear her. She spoke his voice often, he might notice, obviously delighting in the sound of it in her beak.

When it became evident that Sobriquet was settled and growing used to the movements of his flight, Samir gained some altitude, putting them a short ways above the treetops. He moved with graceful ease, falling into a pace that he could hold for long periods of time without trouble. Especially with how light his load was. It still amazed him how delicate she was.
"About the gryverns," he murmured, his voice rumbling through his chest and vibrating through his body into hers. He never bothered to think about how he could be heard when they were flying, but he had subconsciously switched keys, to a slightly lower frequency that carried better through the air. "Well, we came from our Home Reality because Mozer found Hawkings Crest and Sera. Upon striking a bargain with her, some of us began to move." He tilted his head as he thought about that. "It's a lot more comfortable here, though occassionally I will miss the windswept plains. But then I think about all of the sand and I am content again." The Air gave a low laugh at that.

"I hate walking through sand," the little Gryphon said in agreement. "It sticks in my claws and I always sink in it, no matter how lightly I step." It would make sense that she would be so light, as at one point she flew without magical talent, relying on a light but strong body, and likely, hollow and fragile bones. A second eyelid had slid across her sky-blue orbs, protecting them from the force of the wind and any bits of dust carried with it.
"What of your natural abilities? It is obvious you have some," she chuckled, obviously referring to his undulating flight. "In my land, almost all the creatures do.. Tsumes are so variable, but most Gryphons have at least some control over the weather." As his low voice carried well over the rush of wind, her own stuck a slightly higher pitch, finding his ear over the roar but still finding itself pleasant to the ear, not painfully squeaky.

Samir gave another laugh before he responded, "My natural abilities are Air based. I learned Hunter abilities when I chose my Caste. And flight I learned because I found the Tactician." He wasn't certain if she counted all of those as natural. He switched back to discuss her, "And you have a magical singing voice. I've never heard anything so beautiful." The compliment came easily and he didn't fully realize he had even said it until it was already out. Good thing he believed it full-heartedly.
