Both fairy and cat followed the elf, walking quietly by her side. Not a word was spoken, since their attention was focused on the matter of beast tracking and talking might distract them.
It wasn't until a familiar sent caught Tapio's immediate attention. Turning to Falaroy he whispered. "I smell a biter." Falaroy's face suddenly grew very serious. "How many?" He whispered back.
"One maybe...a scouting party I think." Replied the cat. "They'll be scared if they see us...time we make ourselves scarce." The fairy knight nodded. "My good Katasha be so good as to stay put for a bit?" He asked and then without another word they disappeared into the shadows, leaving the elf alone.
It was only a few moments afterward when something scurried behind the trees. It wasn't the fairy or the cat but something small and chittery. And not alone. The creature which Tapio identified was indeed a ankle biter (or biter for short) a thing which the elf would have a fleeting glimpse as one of them ran out into the pale light, a thing that resembled much like a dark furred meerkat and the same in size too. With a bald head and tail and eyes that were the shade of pink.
"Chiichiichiiceee!" The noise they made was like high pitched laughter, though not very menacing sounding to say the least.
One of the biters climbed up onto a fallen long and eyed Katasha hungrily and chittered before baring it's sharp teeth at her.

Katasha was peering into the woods behind her. She could have sworn that shesaw a big black shape lumbering through the woods. The chittering from the ankle biter caught her attention. Turning around, she spotted the odd creature. She had barley heard Falaroy's words, but picked up "stay put". Unsure and uneasy, she guessed that was what she would do. She had little experiance with the little creatures, being that she had only heard about them, and never spotted one. She always felt better with fighting something bigger then her, not something so small it would be hard to see and whack with her sword.

The biter let out a low hiss and hopped down the long, slowly making it's way towards her.
Another ankle biter appeared from behind her and two more coming in pairs each her to her right and left.
They had her surrounded!
Biters, small as they are, were more then willing to take on -if their numbers were good- prey much large then themselves. Considering that this elf was alone, though they did pick up a scent that made them uneasy.
With a loud cry the lead biter charged forward but before they could get close to the elf another cry rang out. One so loud and so powerful that it made all the biters stop in their tracks.
Two things happened at once. From up above a flaming arrow shot down striking the closest ankle biter. The little creature let out a scream as the flames suddenly spread all over it's body and within seconds it lay dead. Burned to death. Two more biters fell dead to with the flaming arrow as they tried to make a run for it.
While at the same time a flash of ginger cat whizzed out from the shadows and tackled the lead biter. Both clawed and bit each other till the fell beast went limp with Tapio's jaws clamped on it's throat.
Falaroy appeared with bow and flaming arrow in hand. His bright green wings and part of his back was on fire but the fairy suffered no hurt. This was his magic after all.
"Hurry my lady!" He cried. "Now it is your turn. Kill the two survivors!" He pointed at the fleeing ankle biters. "Before they return to their horde!"

Katasha whipped out her sword and hacked at one of the biters. Before she could get to the other one, a shriek split the air and Weryi burst out from above. It flapped down and latched his talons around the biter. Weryi nipped the back of the creatures head with his sharp beak, killing the little creature before taking off to the skies to find a place to eat. Maybe the creature would make a nice meal... Katasha watched the hawk fly off before peering around to make sure no more biters where skulking around in the shadows. She sheathed her sword before something caught her attention. A twig snapped. Wheeling around, she desperately peered into the trees.

Taking notice of Katasha staring into the trees, Falaroy fluttered over to her side. His bow was raised ready to fire. "What is it?" he whispered.
Tapio let get of the biter and perked his ears up and sniffed the air. Looks, like the biters aren't the only ones after us. He thought.

Katasha gulped. "I... I think we're being followed..." she murmured uneasily, peering back at him. "I have no clue what's following us, but I keep feeling like I'm being watched by something, and I keep hearing twis snapping."

Both the cat and the fairy trailed behind her. Tapio guarding her right, Falaroy guarding her left.

Katahsa gently crept through the trees until a reeking smell caught her attention. "Nyrie!" She hissed. "Be prepared!" She drew her blade just in time to see the familiar black shape skulking through the trees.

Falaroy answered the elf with a wild grin. He and Tapio were was already prepared to face the nyrie. Theyy were excited and just a little bit nervous, considering that they'd never faced such a creature before.

"Eh, do you have any silver weapons with you?" She whispered, glancing at the Nyrie, which luckily had not yet spotted them. "You can only harm the things with silver."

"My sword is made of mythril, a silver in it's pursest form." Answered Falaroy. "So is my amor and arrowheads."
"And I only got my teeth and claws..." Hissed Tapio. "I guess I'll just have maul the eyes and blind the brute for you."

Katasha nodded and gazed at the Nyrie. "Alright. Wait here. I'll go get its attention, and then you can ambush it when I say 'Now.'" Without another word she swiftly and quietly raced off into the trees.
The nyrie had caught her scent before she even got close to it. It lolloped through the trees, its huge paw-like taloned feet pounded hard on the ground. She whispered a prayer under her breath before sweeping out her sword, hacking at the beast and calling out to her companions. "Now, Falaroy and Tapio!" She called out, swinging up by a branch into a tree. She quickly pulled out her bow. I'm glad I brought this thing! She thought.

Falaroy charged and let loose an arrow, hitting the brute on the nose and giving one nasty burn.
In a flash Tapio was on the creatures back digging his claws into it's back. "Now it's my turn to ride!" He laughed.
"Yeah!" Cried the fairy letting lose another arrow. "And if you get yourself killed I'm getting a beagle!"

An arrow whizzed through the air, embedding itself in the flank of the Nyrie. Katasha grinned. "Perfect shot!" She laughed. The nyrie wheeled around, turning its attention to Katasha. Leaping down from the tree, Katasha drew her sword and lunged. "Alright, Tapio! Off, before I acidentaly thwack you!" She cried, leaping up and digging her sword into the back of the Nyrie. It shrieked out such a loud noise that it made Katasha reel back and cover her ears. It turned and sank its teeth into the destracted Katasha's arm. She let out a squeal before attempting to pull away.

Falaroy was at the beast in a instant. Tossing his bow aside he pulled his silver sword and landing on the creature's head and with all his might he thrust the sword into it's skull.
Tapio who had jumped off of the nyrie now jumped back on and bit and clawed at it's neck.
