A rather strange shape was wandering the fields, it appeared to be a mix between a serpent like dragon and a... Plant. it moved slowly, roots pulling it across the terrain as if it were some sort of strange octopus while it held it's torso upright. If this were not strange enough, everytime it found a puddle it stopped and stared into it for several moments before looking up and doing a strange dance, that appeared to be done in the old chinese water sleeves style. After it did this for a short time, it made a large bow, dipping it's nose in the puddle and pulling some of the water into it's mouth to swish around... It seemed pretty surprised at uh... Something, almost as if it had not expected it to be water, although once it realized it really was water it simply pulled it's roots around to soak it up. This reaction wouldn't be as strange if one were to know it's story but uh... Good luck on finding that out. As it stood there soaking up the water it looked around, no one was within it's sight at the moment and everything was peaceful, there had to be someone out here it was never allowed to be alone for too long... It wasn't entirely sure how to take care of itself anymore and hoped that one of those animals would come get it soon, half the day was gone already... Did they want it to be wild again? (( www.geocities.com/thalron2002/pics/new/daffodil.jpg Beeg picture.... <.< It's not actually that huge, it's probably around 8-9ft tall when standing upright ))

Two other creatures were also wandering in the fields. One was a chocolate furred faun garb in jester’s attire was gently playing a lute as he traveled through the tall grass.
The other was a small fat grey owl and was perched just like a parrot on the faun’s left shoulder. The owl’s yellowish eyes were slowly closing ready to take an good afternoon nap, even with the faun still plucking the strings of his instrument.
Both wanders had not taken notice strange newcomer with the faun totally adsorbed into his music and his feather companion dosing off....they might as well blunder right into it before taking any kind of notice.

Someone else is wandering the area; he had left his other companions in search of more. More excitement, more adventure, more information, more anything. Blue eyes scan the region excitedly. He was learning so much here, it was fabulous. An ear twitched as he realizes he's coming upon. . . something. The brindle stops, watching the large, strange creature moving along the fields rather deliberately. Wot on earth? Wait, was this still earth? The gryvern didn't think so, but the saying would likely still hold well enough.
He inspects it for a long moment then begins to approach, wondering if it was sentient, wondering if it was dangerou, and knowing that he was curious either way.

When it heard the music it looked around for the source, but... It did not know that song, what was it supposed to do? It was supposed to wait for someone to start dancing to show it what to do... But there were no dancers, and certainly none with those long silk sleeves, no the only animals here were much different. One reminded it of a large dog... and one was like the animals she liked less, but had somehow grown fur and bent his legs the wrong way. and a bird, it had mainly seen pictures of those...
But it still didn't know what to do, only one was approaching it so that one must be... Wanting its attention? she turned towards the four legged one and watched it keenly, blue on orange eyes visibly adjusting themselves to the various light changes... The two braid like vines that protruded from the back of it's head began to curl themselves into roll like shapes at either side of it's head. probably mimicking that style of hair. it hoped that this stranger knew the correct words...

The long gryvern tilts his head slightly as the. . . creature notices his approach, but he doesn't tense or even change his easy, rolling gait. He continues along until he's a short distance from the plant-like being. He heard the music, and noticed the strange creatures, but they seemed caught up in their thing whilst this. . . flowering form seemed ready and willing to interact.
"Hallo," the brindle said, unaware of anything about correct words. "I'm Mozer. Who are you?" He gave a careful, non-threatening smile as well, excited about this new introduction.

Hallo... Hello... It knew that one, and it knew what was supposed to follow it too. that restored some of its confidence that maybe it wasn't just left out here on its own. "Hello... Mozer, It is a pleasure to meet you." it stopped talking, curled it's large vines infront of itself and then bowed to him, almost touching its nose to the ground in the process, before rising back to it's standing height. "I am Ci Hua." Her voice is very, calculated as most of it was simply copied rather than learnt.
When it was finished talking it let it's 'arms' go back to it's sides, but kept them rolled up to a point so that the flowers were near the end, easier or less intimidating to attempt to smell them then?

She. . . it. . . was even stranger up close, though he inclined his head to her in greeting as well. "Ci Hua," he tried the unusual name. "How very interesting; does it mean something?" He takes this moment to inspect her more fully even as one part of his mind analyzes her voice. It wasn't a strange way to speak so much as just rather unusual. She seemed so deliberate and careful with her words, as though choosing each one. Or at least, choosing each phrase very purposefully.
She was large; taller than his shoulder easily. The bright golden and white blossoms added a softness her numerous tentacles and rather fierce expression. The gryvern had never seen eyes like hers before either, and he wondered if she saw things differently than he. He'd heard told that some of the animals in Sera's world could only see in certain shades or even just black and white. The idea was baffling if very interesting.

She nodded when her name was said, and appeared to pay even more attention as if waiting for instructions... But when he asked the meaning of her name she just continued to watch him. Those words were complicated. But after a moment she managed to piece together something that made sense, whenever someone asked that the others said something they reffered to her then said some other things... "Ci Hua, Names meaning is Female flower." The language wasn't too hard to piece together she thought, but everyone spoke different so she had never actually figured out what it meant... Just how to say it and when, for the most part anyways.
Her eyes were rather unusual, and seemed to almost constantly shift, even if it was just in miniscule amounts. But in truth she could see just as well as him, or possibly better since unlike most animals her vision doesn't degrade over time. She still seemed to be waiting for... Something though.

Mozer made an appropriately interest noise, pleased, and perhaps a bit relieved that he was fairly certain his guess at her gender had been correct. Here was hoping, at least, with her name meaning. He didn't think any male would put up with something like that, but she had this air about her. He wasn't sure of it, but it seemed to be of apparent waiting. It made him slightly nervous as he wasn't certain wot she wanted from him. Well, worse comes to worse, he could always ask more questions! "Where did you come from?" he asks next and, on the heels of that. "And, not to sound rude, but wot are you?"

...Well, that reached to the very edge of her knowledge and then fell off. She didn't know what the right response was to any of those words, atleast in those combinations. she knew that 'you' was the noise they made when they were reffering to a person whom they were speaking to, where was part of a question that involved places. but she didn't know where 'come from' was, maybe it was food? That's usually what people asked her to get. She would have done it but she didn't know which thing it was or where she would get it.
Then there was that other sentance, rude... That was a bad word when people said it angerily at people, those other people usually got thrown out. this thing was very strange... Oh! It could say that thing... It wasn't sure what it meant, but she said it when things did not make sense, and the animals would usually go and get help that she understood. "I do not understand." she said with a half bow to him.

Mozer's ears twitched backwards in surprise; she didn't understand? Didn't understand which part. Ah, well. He sat down in amusement. "Alright, then we'll try again." He had a sudden thought and decided to pursue another question before his previous ones. They would wait, afterall. "Wot were you doing before?" Maybe that question would be too vague. "You were tasting puddles? Why?"
He was surprised and vaguely baffled by this new, strange creature, but it was half the fun of exploring. Whether he was supposed to be or not. She took her time to think about his questions, almost like. . . he had tot hink about it for a long moment before he could recall. It reminded him of a computer, or, at least, Sera's description of the old ones. You would input a question then wait a long time as it processed and 'thought' about it, before outputting the answer somehow.

Now he was confused? Atleast she thought he was but then something must have made sense to him because he didn't sound confused when he spoke... But she understood what he said! sort of... Try again, that meant she was supposed to do whatever she had done before but a little differently. But... She hadn't done anything, we'll... we'll, that was the sound that they made when reffering to multiple animals? was she included? that made more sense. They had both done something wrong and were going to try again, because obviously they had done it wrong enough that she hadn't realized what it was.
"Puddles?" She was obviously not good at formulating the same questioning tone as him, like she was only guessing that changing it a little made it a question... She hadn't tasted anything, or... Well she had awhile ago, was he talking about the water? "I drink water. I can drink water with my mouth, and roots." she said not knowing if this actually had anything to do with what he asked, but the worst that would happen is she would confuse him. And she didn't get in trouble for that usually.

"You were drinking then?" Mozer asked curiously. "You appeared to be testing it first." He was trying to not be overly complex in his wording, but he was easily exciteable when he finally got to ask questions. Okay, well, when he got answers to his questions. It was interesting, however, that she could drink as a plant and animal. . . not overly surprising if one thought about it for a moment. "Do you utilize photosynthesis?" he asked next, remembering that lesson from a lecture he'd eavesdropped on. He rather hoped she did beause it seemed a very exciting prospect.

She bowed again to confirm his first question then just watched him curiously after the second one. She had no idea what he was talking about, testing usually involved uh... Other things and she did not think that he was really interested in doing that. But she couldn't be sure so she just waited to see if he would do something... But instead he asked another question.
Photosynthesis, that was something that was often told about her. "I use photo...Synth...Esis." she said as she had trouble with the word, breaking it into more manageable chunks instead of attempting the whole word. Why was he talking to her? normally she was not the one people talked to, they always talked to other animals... Or if they did talk to her it never involved so hard words... And usually were series of short statements or questions that did not seem to require answers.

Mozer still didn't have any idea that normally she wasn't spoken to as he did, excpet for the fact that she seemed more use to smaller sentences. She didn't seem to have trouble with more complex ideas, however. Well, -he- thought photosynthesis was a rather involved and complex thing, but, then again, he didn't use it. Maybe it was a lot simpler in performance than it always seemed on paper.
"Wot does it feel like?" he couldn't help asking. He'd never been able to talk with a plant. Or, he'd never been able to have a real conversation with one. He had talked to a tree or two in his day and once to one of Sera's plants.
