Mozer blinked and gave a sudden, if bright, uncomfortable smile. "Sou desu ka. . . . " This was just a sign he'd been spending too much time with Sera and he didn't expect the other to understand. In all actuality, he wasn't entirely aware that he'd even said it. Flashbacks to Jaradka and her food distinctions came to mind.
"So. . . am I prey to you?" his voice was still easy-going and even a bit amused, but there was a hint of tenseness in his frame now, a readiness that had been lacking before. He wasn't going to attack prematurely, but the gryvern was prepared to defend himself with deadly force if needed.

She smiled when he smiled, that was a good thing right? They smiled when they were happy or when they were trying to hide the fact that they were sad. But mozer seemed slightly nervious or afraid rather than as easy going as before... Had she done something wrong? She hoped not.
Sou desu ka... That sounded like some of the people, but it was not something she recognized. "You are... Too big. You are, smart." she said in a vague attempt to answer his question, she wasn't really trying because she didn't know what the words really meant, just when they were used... And thought that it might make sense to him. One of the flowers on her back twitched, and then turned a little bit to face towards the sun more.

Okay, that was a relief. The tension ran out of him like water, leaving the same, easy humour as before. The way she said 'smart' made Mozer think that she only ate non-sentient creatures as the gryvern did. It was rather interesting that she only ate smaller creatures; the gryvern occasionally worked together to take down larger prey. Of course, they were also something of a pack creature, so perhaps that's why.
He watched the flower turn and tilted his head slightly at it. That was rather exciting. "Why are you here?" he asked this time, perhaps in a bit of a topic jump.

It probably would have made even more sense that she only ate smaller creatures if he knew that it took her about a week to actually digest a stomache full of meat, atleast on average so a large kill would pretty much be compost by the time she was hungry again.
When he asked why she was here... She understood but, well. "...I do not know." Her answer bothered her, she didn't know why she was out here and she didn't know what to do now and it was all confusing, how would she ever tell someone that she didn't know what she was supposed to do anymore...
She absent mindededly sound released a small whimper, but... It sounded almost like a noise you would expect from a whale, only brought onto a wavelength that wasn't supposed to be heard by everyone... Mozer could probably hear it fine, but had anyone else with less sensitive ears heard it it would probably have been a very painful experience.

'I don't know' wasn't very more comforting than 'I don't understand', but at least now he didn't feel the need to try to re-word a few times. His ears twitched at the strange noise and he glanced worriedly at her. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
He wasn't entirely certain there really -was- anything he could do to be useful to this strange creature, but if he could help, he would. Gladly, in fact. He enjoyed helping out.

Aand... she didn't understand, but chose not to say so this time, he had heard it enough by now that he should be able to tell she didn't understand right now. Instead she just watched him, would he know what to do? That would be... Reassuring. Even if he didn't normally do what those other animals did.
she sniffed at him again, he didn't seem nervious or scared anymore. That was good, she was always better at emotions than talking, emotions were pretty much the only language she had spoken naturally and while animals were different, they were rather similar.

And. . . . silence. After a long moment of staring, Mozer figured out that she either didn't understand his phrasing or didn't know. He was still amused and getting more so by the moment. This was like some sort of weird treasure hunt. "Is there somewhere you need to go?" he asked, still smiling. "Something you need to do? Someone you need to see?"
He wasn't certain if multiple questions confused her, or if it was just certain things, words and ideas. It was worth a shot at least.

She stroked his head gently again, she didn't seem to use those secondary vines that came off of the main ones... Maybe they weren't as sensitive or something. This time however she noticed that he appeared to have only two thorns, that was strange... Had he removed the other ones? that must have hurt. Or, well... He didn't seem to have any marks where they would have been, did he only grow two normally?
She listened to his questions carefully, she knew bits of them but as usual they were a bit out of her range... The 'something you need to do' was one that she heard occasionally but it didn't apply here, as far as she could tell anyways. She didn't, atleast obviously get confused by multiple questions, simply not knowing what any of them meant. "I do not understand. Mozer, What do you want me to do?" she asked in a questioning tone... There was a bit of something else in her voice too, but it was best not to think of that.

I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls With vassals and serfs at my side. And of all who assembled within those walls That I was the hope and the pride. I had riches all too great to count And a high ancestral name...
The faun's fair voice sang softly as he trotted along the grassy path....till his amber eyes caught something...off in the distance. The faun stopped his playing and shaded his eyes from the sun’s afternoon glare. At first he thought what he saw was some sort of creature standing next too...a weird looking plant with long green vines...just until the “plant” moved.
The faun blinked in surprised, never seen anything like of it before and just looking at it gave him the creeps.
“What in the...” The faun gasp and nervously prodded his feathery companion. “Dr..Druffle...Quill who..what’s that!” The fat owl snapped his beck angrily in response.
“Hmmpth...Pallo can you not see I am trying to sleep!”The owl grunted slightly digging his talons into his “ride’s” shoulders.
“But there’s ahh...ahh thing!” The faun Pallo wined, shifting uneasily from one hoof to another.

Mozer gave another grin, "We just don't see very good at this communication thing." Well, time to try again. "It's not that I want something from you," though her continual asking was starting to give him the beginnings of an idea. "I hope that I can help you get to wherever you need to go, or whoever you need to meet, if anyone or anywhere."
So, having explained, whether she would understand it or not, Mozer tilted his head slightly and tried to think. He wasn't aware of her scrutiny of his small little horns, something that was just as well. With the pair his father had, he wasn't certain why his own were so small. He'd come to terms with it now, but there had been some fights when he was younger about it. "Where were you going before I came up?" he tried this.

blah blah blah.... 'I want something from you' she understood that, that meant he wanted a flower or something, she never gave flowers to people unless they were really special because... It hurt alot to remove them, and took time for them to grow back. Maybe she would give him one before he left.
Then as for the rest of the words she listened intently and... Waited a moment to see if there was anything else, anything that she knew but the most that she could figure out did not include all of the words he used. She still found it strange that he was talking to her but it made more sense because there was no one else in the immediate vicinity. "I am sorry, I do not understand." she repied to his earlier comments, but when he said 'where were you going' she understood that. "I do not know." Unfortunately that did not make much of a difference right now..
Her attention was solely on the creature infront of her, and only had the vague idea that there were others watching

"What "thing?"" Druffle Quill the owl demanded angrily now that his afternoon nap had been interrupted once again. He popped his yellow eyes opened glaring at the jippering faun.
"A...big planty snake thing..." Pallo cringed he wasn't too fond of snakes or anything "snake-ish."
"Big planty snake thing...." The owl grunted clicking his beak and trying to see what his idiotic faun was pointed at.
"Criggets and Fibbergish!" Druffle Quill gasped, flapping his wings he cried. "By my guess it's a lingworm!"

Mozer was aware of their audience but likely wouldn't do anything about them unless they proved themselves a threat or friendly.
Perhaps it was unfortunate he had no mind-reading, else he would have tried to set the dionaea straight about wot he'd said earlier. He especially wouldn't want one of her flowers if it hurt her, and he really didn't have anything to do with one anyway. ^^;;
"Well, if it's any consolation," he grinned at her. "I don't know where I was going either." Really, he was just off exploring, as usual. Astafy was preoccupied with the little Yume tsume and Casimir with his temporary/pemanent mate Jaradka. "Should we start walking and see if we discover where you needed to go?"

Her attention was momentarily caught by the spectators but when the one exclaimed 'criggets and fibbergish!' that was such a strange sound... But her eyes switched back to Mozer quickly enough what did they find so strange about her? Maybe they liked her flowers?
Consolation... That was not something she was very familiar with, it usually meant that something or other was not very happy... 'I don't know' She knew that one and 'where'... He was lost too? that was strange he didn't sound like he was lost... Well, ok maybe he did a little but she thought that was probably her fault.
Then there was that last sentance, afew bits of it made sense but she didn't want to try and draw any conclusions with all those other words in there it was just... Too jumbled up, it was a good thing she wasn't really capable of getting a head ache. "What do you want to do?" she asked in a more normal questioning tone... There were other words she had been taught but rarely used... What were they? When she was alone with someone and they were confused or she did not understand much of anything that they were saying... It was alot of words.
"I..." She paused, she hated long sounds and strings of words... "do not know many eng...lish... words, you can guide my move...ments." She said, it was a confident speech, but many of the longer words were broken up into segments so that she could say them easier... Had she been home she would have been punished for doing that, it hadn't occured to her that Mozer might punish her, otherwise she'd probably be much more timid acting.

"Lingworm?" The faun said confused. Strange it didn't look anything like a worm and what’s with the flowers? Pallo didn't have any time to ask for Druffle Quill batted him in the ear and hissed. "Get down before that vile thing of pure evil sees me...us I mean!"
With question Pallo threw himself to the ground and in doing so he knock Druffle Quill off his shoulder. The fat owl fell to the ground with a screech. "AHHHIIIIEEE!! You nincompoopy you could of killed me!
Though unhurt (save for his pride) the owl flapped his wings and hopped onto Pallo's head stamping the poor faun with his talons.
"Oi...Sorry Druffle Quill I didn't mean...." Pallo winced as he tried to apologize but the fussy bird interrupted him with another hiss.
"Silence...you fool! That lingworm still out there..."
